Probably because it goes against their black and white views, and firmly held beliefs which they use to ridicule those who are different while exulting themselves as the cool ones. It is their pedestal above the masses. You see if they were ever to admit to themsleves they liked other genres they would have to step down of their pathetic soapbox of laughable accomplishments and mindnunbingly dumb thoughts and admit to themselves that they truly are just another man in the crowd.
word  |
No way, they have been around for a long time now.
They are one of the few rappers to come up with something fresh for each album.
yea i like outkast a lot. and im not ashamed to say it, i wasnt a big fan of their newest album but there old stuff is great, but they arent exactly classic rock soooo...... |
We've posted more in the past hour than we have for the past 1 and a half days.
I agree with RockandRoll. |
He's not strange at all. How many replies do we get that bare a striking resemblense to this one.^
1. I love Classic Rock 2. I like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd...etc 3. I hate all this "rap crap" modern music....etc 4. I'm 13, 14 or 15 and I think I'm pretty original. Sound familer? They're all (usually) extremly close minded and ignorant that give (open minded) Classic Rock fans a negative image.
haha yea all the time. same guy that you see in halls with a led zeppelin shirt saying "yea i love that guy" |

Back in the ol' days of the thread whenever it would slow down for a day or two some idiot would come on going "omg guys liek dis tread is totaly going to dy soon o noeessss!" and as the regulars we'd have to tell them to shut up and go away, and that the threads not about to die. /Random memory
I agree with RockandRoll. It's not they're posers because (extremly rare but) they could be fans as big as you and me (NOT Zeppelin but Classic Rock) it's that they're close minded and I think they're just trying to act cool by saying it. It really annoys me. |
I can't stand when people say "omfg eye saw a kid whereing a lead zepplen shert today but eye think they r just teh posers!!!11!!". Until you have proof that they don't know who they are or have only hear Stairway, be quiet. Actually, even if they don't really like them, who cares?
IT'S JUST A T-SHIRT. |
I think 9 out of every 10 of those stories are completely made up.

IT'S JUST A T-SHIRT.
It doesn't annoy you the slightiest little bit when someone is wearing a Hendrix shirt that can't even name one of his songs? I know it's just a shirt but does annoy me. |

Yeah, it annoys me a bit, but nothing worth getting my boxers into a knit over. |
Yeah, it annoys me a bit, but nothing worth getting my boxers into a knit over.
Alot of it is usually based on assumptions too. |
Is Canadian Guy Eight Miles High?
And Ray, where've you been? |
Is Canadian Guy Eight Miles High?
Yeah, he is.
Man, Rock and Roll, I dont know if I saw you any of those 4 days, but wasn't it fun?
You didn't, I couldn't go :(. *cries* |
I've heard some stuff by them, but they're pretty obscure in some cases; it's been hard for me to find anything by them.
How were they? :)
They were good, and it was free too. |
You didn't, I couldn't go :(.
*cries*
Oh shit. Why? Man, security was so much more strict this time, so many people got kicked out the first three days. First Day-ZZ Top was absolutley amazing, they even brought out the fur guitars and switched suits for the encore. Bachman was also a highlight, with that keyboardist that sounded like Burton Cummings so they played lots of Guess Who material. The 2 middle days were sweet too but I cant remember them as well if you know what I mean. :smoke:, acctually I think thats the only reason they were sweet. The last day Thorogood slayed everyone and security was less strict so everyone went really nuts. |
I don't understand all the hype about Neil Young...what's he known for..his voice? writing? guitar skills? I recognize his talent but IMO he's just OK in all 3 categories. Lots of artists have better voices/guitar skills/writing so I just don't get him.

A lot of people are turned of by his voice, but he's respected as one of the best songwriters ever. |

I repspect his talent too, but I have only heard a few songs by him. But his voice is what turned me off, myane it need to grow on me |
I like his voice. It's not great, but it's good.
|
I like him best w/ CSNY. On the whole, as a solo artist he is just ok. I don't think he isn't talented though. Not by a longshot.
|
dude, miik your avatar is seriously blurred.
|
yep yep, for sure.

I think he was much more creative as a solo artist. His CSNY days always sounded kind of bland to me. |
He has some bland solo albums, quite a few actually. But the genius of his great albums more than makes up for it.

true enough. |
Has anyone heard his self titled? I bought it some time ago hoping it was going to a classic. I mean how can it be a bad album when albums such as Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush and Harvest came right after it? Well it turned out to be pretty boring and bland. The 1st track was the only one I liked ("The Emperor of Wyoming") and it was a pretty strange track considering it didn't have any vocals. Save yourself some trouble and don't get this album because to be truly honest this album wasn't worth the 10$ I payed for it. Sorry Neil. :-/
