Hey everyone, what's up? I'm not doing much at the moemnt, but last night I went to a gig of a friend of mine, he's an awesome guitarist, and it was at a empty house with more or less 30 persons inside. The show was awesome, and the bass player was just insanely groovy, he didn't solo even once, but he played so steady and with cool riffs, that you just had to move your head from side to side. Besides that, he had a really fat tone, very bluesy, and he used an old Gibson that didn't say the reference anywhere, it only said Gibson. That bass has a great tone.

But, and this is the best part, the bassist is going away to the US and the group needs a new bass player, and we are gonna rehearse next weekend to see if I can replace the other guy!!!

If I get that gig, that would ensure lots of gigs, and most importantly, that I'd finnally be playing with good guitar players!! :thumb: :amaze: :amaze: :naughty:

I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm a decent guitar player (by non-musician standards). Modesty? **** that. :p

I've found it much much much easier to pick up a guitar and play "harder" riffs. I've almost got Satriani's "Midnight" down...on a 20-fret NYLON ACOUSTIC.

 I'll just say that guitar is easier than bass. (don't quote me on that :p)

Thunder Fingers 12-05-2004 04:38 PM

your right.. guitar is not as hard as they want to.. i actually find it rather boring to play.. i know an Em and an C.. after that i discovered that im realy an bassist :p

neal_672 12-05-2004 04:42 PM

I discovered i'm really a bassist after getting bored with the cheap acoustic i bought after like 2 weeks.... I still play it, just not often...

coddingtown 12-05-2004 05:03 PM

I play my acoustic when I go places, like the beach, but If I had a loud enough acoustic bass I'd play that instead

neal_672 12-05-2004 05:07 PM

I have to go now guys, ciao

Foxfire 12-05-2004 05:09 PM

Well I mean like, I went to Guitar Center the other day and heard a ton of guitarists arguing about who could play certain songs the best. I tried a few of these songs and was confused by why they struggled. o_O

I lovelovelove certain forms of acoustic playing. For example, the Beatles "Blackbird" is GOLD. When I get my 7 a G, I'm going to convert it. :p

Hi all! How was your day?

coddingtown 12-05-2004 06:06 PM

Mine was alright, I have 8 pages of notes do for senior issues on the topic of Euthanasia. I have to do those fairly soon, as they are due tomorrow.

I have had pretty much a constant stomach ache lately, and over the past week or so my insides have been making the strangest noises I have ever heard. I havent eaten anything really extreme lately, but I suppose I havent been eating well.

Anyone got a diagnosis?

ridethelightning 12-05-2004 06:10 PM

diagnosis: go eat a doughnut!

anywhoo. yesterday at band practice, i cut the **** out off my finger, and i have blood alllll over my strings. what should i use to clean them??
