Time of Orchids - Namesake Caution

Got this off of Iluvater's blog, and I'm certainly intrigued by it. Pretty cool stuff.

Lots of Jandek. His live albums are some of the most depressing things ever recorded, and I am a connoisseur of such things.

Sunset Rubdown- random spirit lover

my opinion of this album varies wildly from listen to listen. I think that means it's somewhere near the 'good' mark.

You'll like The Sunset Tree a lot if you liked Tallahassee. I downloaded like 15 Mountain Goats albums at once and I'm still only familiar with a few. They have so many fucking songs.

samarahah 08-23-2008 06:27 PM

i have a hard time getting into bands with a **** ton of material its too overwhelming

okay 08-23-2008 06:30 PM

The Sunset Tree is the best starting point for The Mountain Goats imo, then branch out from there.

Listening to Women right now. . . I dunno if they've been discussed on here.

They're pretty neat, anyway. Kinda jump all over stylistically (er, well, jump to anything that's white and heavily influenced by the velvet underground).

Also, Frog Eyes. I love them.
