Guys.... Download was unbelieveable, what a performance and what a setlist Metallica produced. I had always vowed not to go and see Metallica after Jason left because I thought the band's stage presence would be missing without him but how wrong was I! Rob was seriously the s*it he had definetly proven to me he's suitable for Metallica. Highlight was definetly Orion because I think iam going to be one of few who will ever be blessed to hear this live to my knowledge they probably are only playing it because its the 20th anniversary of MOP.
I would have liked to heard Bellz and Fight Fire With Fire but hey iam not complaining they played the whole of MOP! I hope they come back to england soon which they will because a new album is not far off. Can't wait!
You lucky SOB!! That sounds like it was a kickass concert.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: |
Metallica kicked an incredible amount of metal ass at Download!

I thought "The New Song" kinda sounded like Load/Reload in terms of the vocals.
Also, for anyone who heard Trivium's new song when they played it at Download, it sounded sooo much like something off Puppets...vocals, guitar riffs, everything. You could tell it was trivium at first, then Matt played an unaccompanied riff and then when he started singing, I chuckled since it was so close. I think it's pretty cool they get to meet them and hang out too since they've only been out for a while and so many people hate them, yet Corey, Travis and Paulo are standing infront of Kirk singing Die, Die my Darling. |
Yeah I heard the new Trivium song.
I swear one of the riffs is one of the Master of Puppets riffs played in a different position. |
Know where i could find it?
|
It's on Youtube, Live at Rock Am Ring.
|
That video of the 'new song' was cool. Can't wait to hear the new album!
|
Wow ok saw the trivium song i liked it they r an amazing band just sometimes Matt's vocals can be annoying, not in that song at all though.
|
I think they're pretty weak live and his voice is terrible.

123 When I saw them. Matt's vocals were a mess. Clear and Scream. Corey made plenty of mistakes on geetar. Though they've cleaned up their live play 100% from what I saw in the video. With that said. I didn't like it. It struck me as a "metallica rip off". I couldn't put my finger on the riff. Though when I read "masters of puppets riff in a different position" that sounds right. They did clean their playing up a lot though. Which is VERY good. |

They need to have more songs with more of their chorus-like singing, except not like Dying In Your Arms. He's got great screaming vocals it's just that his real voice is so amazing; it's such a waste. Metallica's new songs is pretty amazing. I had to listen to it a few times to realize Kirk's solo was like 2 minutes, not just 10 seconds of wah because the recording was so bad. I have high hopes now that I've heard a Disposable Heros' length solo. Trivium's new song- not bad, the intro is very Puppets-like, but it's missing that really upbeat "open fire" from their old album that i really liked. |
I'd like to see more Trivium songs like Dying in your arms tbh.

I can't stand the emo-ness of that song. It's not too bad, I won't skip it, but I like their much heavier songs but with less screaming. How can James wear a sweatshirt on stage?!?!?!?!?!? |

Trivium in a nutshell. Discussion about Trivium in here ends now. |

edit: oops |

Agreed So back to my question. Has anyone here been under those kind of lights? It's impossible to be wearing a sweatshirt. |
Maybe it was a very cold summer day
At rock am ring '03 he's wearing a coat isn't he? |

, well said. Yeah, Rob owns. I didn't like him when he first joined but he's proven himself. |

Fade to Black The Fourhorsemen For Whom the Bell Tolls Blackened I missed Blackened the most, Battery owned.
When I saw them live they opened with Blackened ;) |
Yeah I was hoping they'd do Blackened, and I was telling my friend, "no they won't open with Creeping Death, it doesn't come straight in, you've got that tom bit first that takes a while to get through"....pwned. :upset:
|
When I saw them live they opened with Blackened ;)
Me too. It was so good. I also so Fade to Black :naughty:
yo metallica fans!!! If they took the Rock AM Ring show we all downloaded and switched Last Caress with Die Die My Darling that would be the most amazing setlist. |
