Got Vader - The Beast a few days ago, its very good some tracks are abit repetitive though. I got the one with the bonus dvd withthe studio report in polish   there are subtitles but they move pretty fast.

DisposableHeroes 10-24-2004 12:35 PM

stupid fast subtitles :P

SLATANIC-666 10-24-2004 03:14 PM
The Berserker are just tooo fast. :-/

http://www.fun-with-money.com/metalchurch

For all of you who haven't heard any metal church, there are FOUR full albums for download right there. I'd advise my fellow thrashers to get the 1984 self titled album. It is considered a classic by most. Me included!
Checked it out. I think they're **** good having never heard them before but they are definitely worth a listen. They remind me of someone but i cant think who . Anyway thanks JMet for opening my mind to Metal Church :thumb:

FatalEnergy 10-24-2004 08:16 PM

Apocalyptic Raids 10-24-2004 11:24 PM

LordDargon 10-25-2004 05:46 AM

Metal Church are too power-metally for my tastes

bump in disguise

JMetallica 10-25-2004 06:09 AM

Narr, they are just too metal for you. :p

LordDargon 10-25-2004 07:07 AM

it's true :upset:

EDIT: Holy crap, that Berzerker song is amazing! Way better than No-One Wins! And it's a Carcass cover, of the carcass I had heard from Reek of Putrefaction I didn't like it that much, but this song is awesome! man that is awesome, thanks alot Doodle

its not so much subtitles, but on the Napalm Death DVD Shane Embury talks in such an odd voice you have to turn it up real loud

Megadeth and Exodus. I am officially jealous. :(

RavenousMetalist87 10-25-2004 09:55 PM

I'm still hyped to see Slayer this winter :D

FatalEnergy 10-25-2004 09:57 PM

Megadeth has a pretty good setlist, sadly nothing of the 1st album though

FatalEnergy 10-25-2004 11:30 PM

hey I had a question, someone told me Death (the band) was more thrash metal than Death metal (I hate Death metal, by the way), so I decided to check them out and I traded with someone, and so I got Scream Bloody Gore, and well I dont like Death metal so I think its horrible, did they like change to thrash or is my friend an idiot and do all thier albums sound this bad?

Try the songs:

-Symbolic
-Misanthrope
-Flesh and the Power it Holds
-To Forgive is to Suffer

Maybe they meant Possessed.

LordDargon 10-26-2004 08:11 AM

Seven Churches is essential

SLATANIC-666 10-26-2004 09:45 AM

Ive just recently ordered seven churches, kind of on a whim as i ive only heard a sample of one song off the album which i thought was pretty good although it sounded raw as fvck.

SLATANIC-666 10-26-2004 10:57 AM

Ultra Violence (Death Angel) came in the post today. I am half way through listening to it and I think it's awesome. I'm planning to get more of their albums. Any suggestions? I already know of Act III and Art Of Dying but what are they like? better or worse than Ultra Violence?

sensitiveorgan00 10-26-2004 01:19 PM

They get less thrash as each album progresses. SBG isn't pure thrash, but it still has thrashness, like a lot of old school death metal.

LordDargon 10-26-2004 02:20 PM

well, The Ultra Violence has some incredibly good songs on it. The other two are supposed to suck, and The Art Of Dying (their newest one) is supposed to be reasonably good. So your best bet is probably to go with TAoD.

ignoring the rather stupid title, i would try Frolic Through The Park. Its pretty dam good

infernaloverkill 10-26-2004 04:19 PM

Good to know there is still some thrash fans! I've seen Metallica last week, hahaha!
No more respect for those four men.
I'm new so I think I should list some of the bands i like
Slayer, of course
Testament first 4 albums, megadeth SoFarSG, kreator Extreme agg, destruction Mad B., sepultura (Beneath the remains WoW!) and some more, If you think I NEED to listen a album let me know, please! It's got to be fast and aggressive!

UnknowN Doodl3.2 10-26-2004 05:13 PM

Guys maybe I can join in too... and yes Ive heard darkness descends.... the song is crazy but the sound quality ruins everything in my IMO...

ve heard and listen to regularly...

Slayer (a lot nowadays)
Metallica (A bit less than before)
Testament (only heard 5-10 songs but there ****in awesome... Ill listen more to them...
Anthrax (same as testament)
Megadeth (not my favorite band but they still have their songs...
Pantera

Non thrash bands I listen to:

Dimmu Borgir
Children of Bodom
System of a Down
Meshuggah
Opeth
Cannibal Corpse (Im recently got into them and Im startiong to like the guitar a lot...

Yhats off the top of my head... I got other bands Ilisten once in as world

RCA 10-26-2004 06:08 PM

You all need to give Testament's "Low" a few good listens, as it is pretty underrated.

By the way, any news on the new Testament album?

NP: Morbid Angel - Heaving Earth

RavenousMetalist87 10-26-2004 08:04 PM

Eric is back in the studio jamming w/ Paul as Chuck creates more lyrical and melodic ideas for the songs.

So far, they're back on track with things.

Low is a great album. I still listen to it no matter how old it'll get :D

FatalEnergy 10-26-2004 10:00 PM

Low is kick ***, but no match for the first 5 abums before it

sacrifice93.2 10-27-2004 03:52 AM
Wow, i didn't think that many but like you say, he sucks at it and it's not as apparent, except in 'one', as other drummers e.g. Charlie Benante, Dave Lombardo.
Actually, the drummer best at using a double bass isn't even a thrash drummer. That crown belongs to Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater. I don't care what Dargon says, because Portnoy is the best, hands f*cking down.

manuscriptreplica 10-27-2004 06:08 AM

I don't like Portnoy's playing much, the guys from Dragonforce and Morbid Angel are probably better, I'd say.

Riva 10-27-2004 06:32 AM

The drummer of DragonForce is much better than Portnoy, I reckon.

sensitiveorgan00 10-27-2004 11:20 AM

You are so fvcking wrong. Ever heard of Virgil Donati? Thomas Lang?

LordDargon 10-27-2004 12:06 PM

refl  Sacrifice has some dumb, unfounded hatred of death metal, so he doesn't know how fast the majority of death metal drummers on the the old twin kick.

Sandoval
Mounier
Corn
the Necrophagist guy
the Berzerker guy

Mithras's drummer is supposed to be immensely fast too.

Oh yeah, for Devastation, Idolatry is sounding really good, nice thick production. I also checked out their first album, however the production is really thin and the vocals are some of the worst I've ever heard. The guy doesn't even try to put in any intensity, he just talks. It's kinda sad and funny at the same time.

I wasn't stating that they were the fastest double bass drummers, I just like they're use of it compared to ulrich.
