My Drums Just Came Freakin Yay

Me! 06-27-2006 12:10 PM

What kind?

Wait did you get those drums from Rondomusic?

Insomniac20k 06-27-2006 12:13 PM

Gammon Drums. Probably ****ty but they actually aren't mine :D

AG 06-27-2006 12:14 PM

I want a drumkit.

I want one of those huge Electric Roland ones, though.

That would be sweet. I'd like to learn how to play drums without embarassing myself by sounding bad at high volumes.

Actually it would be extremely useful if I did recordings.

Or I could just yoink my cousin's Pearl set. Apparently it's the same model stuff Lars Ulrich used on the black album, so it's probably pretty good.

Insomniac20k 06-27-2006 12:15 PM

Setting up drums is like the most daunting task ever.

I'm glad I play guitar

kurrpt 06-27-2006 12:16 PM

drums arent hard. Sure, it takes time to be "good", but if you have the foot/hand independance thing down, its no big deal.

Playing in time....

for MOST drummers, this seems like an impossible feat

Royd Rage 06-27-2006 12:16 PM

never tasted good beer. besides i drink alcohol to get drunk...

anyway if you mix vodka rum or tequilla with the right juice you won't even taste it.

Having a solid background in piano really leaves you open to pretty much any instrument. You get used to doing multiple things at once.

Those kick arse, I tried one out once.

AG 06-27-2006 12:23 PM

I bought a nice power tool today, for inlaying

I'm gonna practise tomorrow.

im with you on the NON-DRUNK thing. I cant stand drunk people, for the most part, and i absolutely hate getting drunk. I drink purely for the taste.

As far as the independance thing, it took me about 3 hours till i had it down "fairly" well. It helped a ton with using a wah pedal

I_go_by_mikee 06-27-2006 12:26 PM

i used to play drums in the 6th grade. so i know a fair ammount of stuff on drums. i can write stuff.

although, i do things backwards on a set, because everytime i play one its set up right handed.

i'm actually fairly interested in bass right now. I dunno if it was just that i was lacking a clean channel for so long, but bass seemed pretty fun, and i tabbed out jeremy from pearl jam like just messing around. the harmonics were wrong but i thought they were guitar so i didn't wanna try and figure that out + i was in a store.

some people should never get drunk...thier mood changes and they forget thier human beings and start pissing on everything and sleeping with anything that has genitals...

i dont get like that...except for laughing a bit more i am totally normal...it's weird...i don't know if it is the same with any other drugs cause i've never tried any...

i've only been super drunk once...when i was having problems with this girl i liked and got super drunk and almost got hit by a car.

haven't been that drunk since...

but getting a little in you and listing to music really changes the way you can look at it...or it can make a band sound even worse like when i got drunk and listened to puddle of mudd's "life on display" album...god that was horrible...

blah blah blah

going to shut up now...

pixplz

I'm assuming it's some kinda dremel/router or something......but i really can't imagine what kinda tool you'd really use for inlaying aside from that

AG 06-27-2006 12:40 PM

Yeh, it's a dremel type thing, but with a lovely flat base.

32,000 rpm unloaded speed, lmao.

Insomniac20k 06-27-2006 12:45 PM

After experiencing what drummers go through.... I don't think we can complaign about floyd roses ever again.

The_Mop 06-27-2006 12:47 PM

HOWEVER

Setting up a drum kit is fun, it's just like a big kids lego kit

whereas

changing strings on the floyd is jsut damn tedious

Insomniac20k 06-27-2006 12:48 PM

They sent me a bunch of shells, the heads and cymbals and then a box of loose hardware.

No instructions

you definitely raise some interesting points. Those are good reasons not to drink. I try not to hang around that scene for the mentioned reason.

My fiancee has alcoholism in her family. Ive had bad experiences with her getting drunk, so i really separate her from it. In the past 2.5 years, ive only had 3-5 instances that i can easily get past.

Have fun, took me like 2 hours to set mine up (first time ever doing it)

AG 06-27-2006 02:01 PM

So motherfuckers, for this telecaster;

Angled middle humbucker like in the pic, or reverse angled?

I don't know what I want the middle pickup to do when I add it to the bridge or neck, give more highs or give more lows.

Hmm.
