they're alright.

Has anyone heard the edited version of 'Good Apollo I'm Burning Star'? It's horrific... make sure the CD says explicit multiple times before you purchase it.
this is in the pop punk forum why?
See: Second Stage Turbine Blade

Ya, they edit out "cut", "whore", "die", "kill"... plus all of the cuss words. It truly changes the entire CD, for the worse. The much much worse.

calling that album a pop punk album is like calling certain saves the day albums post hardcore albums

DJ Ducksauce 08-20-2008 10:04 PM

It's closer though. And BRS, AFHA, Suffering, Feathers have a lot of pop-punk qualities.

The main reason this thread is in Pop-punk is because it got the best reception here. People weren't all "The singer needs to grow a pair." and shi.

Iluvatar 08-20-2008 10:11 PM

im just saying the album is pretty much just a rock record with a high pitched singer and post-hardcore influenced guitar work.

and those songs all have more in common with 80s hair metal/popular metal songs than any pop punk I know.

cobert 08-20-2008 11:15 PM

Well yeah it's totally more a straight up rock record than a pop-punk one, but putting this in rock/metal (since this was made before GA came out) would be retarded.

Nobody really cares about where threads are put, as long as there are a lot of fans of the band in that forum. There's been Taking Back Sunday threads in hardcore because people there fucking love them.

Iluvatar 08-20-2008 11:21 PM

its just this is the deadest forum ever

cobert 08-20-2008 11:24 PM

Yeah and coheed and cambria's last 2 albums blew so maybe this should be moved to a forum where people will appreciate it more.

Iluvatar 08-20-2008 11:24 PM

no world for tomorrow was a misbegotten child that i still nurture.

cobert 08-20-2008 11:28 PM

Iluvatar 08-20-2008 11:29 PM

chris pennie's strict catholic upbringing prevented this =(

cobert 08-20-2008 11:30 PM

so coheed and cambria

Iluvatar 08-20-2008 11:31 PM

pretty good band junesong provision is their best song

cobert 08-20-2008 11:38 PM

I think I might be inclined to agree.

Bronson 08-21-2008 12:15 AM

band sucks but hey im posting

pow3rtr1p 08-21-2008 02:32 PM

I actually prefer "The Crowing". However, as untouched and raw as SSTB is, there still some awesome songs on there (Junesong included), but "The Crowing" always just pumps me up, and I usually get chills at the "Dear Ambellina" part towards the end.

DepthsOfDreams555 08-21-2008 06:29 PM

Oh and I've been constantly playing SSTB for a week and a half. Love it.
