Iron Man is fun to play on bass

Just read this months Classic Rock magazine, they have an interview with Geezer about his new album. He states that its Him who isn't really interested in doing a new Sabbath album, and he talks about Ohmwork and a possible tour of that album with Iommi's solo album at the same time.

Well worth checking out if your English.

shamed-angel 04-08-2005 10:51 AM

I got it too and it's really interesting. But I don't see the prospect of a Sabbath album anymore as one without Geezer would be a novelty IMO.

^Did you read the last page with the quotes on it?

That was great

Question-
I got the Ozzy Live&Loud DVD last weekend.
When did these gigs shown there happen?
Original Sabbath members play some songs there. Has this been their first time playing together since the past, or has this been between the first reunion shows?

metallica83 04-08-2005 12:02 PM

by the way, Fav. song is after forever

The Live&Loud tour was 1991/1992, the Sabs performed Black Sabbath as a one-off towards the end of the tour. When Ozzy performed Changes it had Zakk Wylde on the piano.

It had been their first re-union since Live Aid in 1985 (or was it 1984? I can never remember) where they played a short set. After the Live&Loud one-off song the original Sabbath line-up didn't play a complete set until 1998/1999, when they did the Re-Union tour.

The 1997 Ozzfest doesn't count because Mike Bordin from Ozzy's solo band was drumming for them.

Have you heard the samples of his new album? there on www.geezerbutler.com
The guitar work is really good but I hate the vocals.

Brew 04-09-2005 08:01 AM

I might check them out later on.

I laughed when I read how he came up with the name Ohmwork, it started out as the album being his ''homework'', which in a Brummie accent sounds like ''Ohmework'', he changed it to ''Ohmwork'' because it sounds more intelligent.

rippa32 04-10-2005 03:11 AM

lol. Have you seen the album cover? Its really good IMO

shadow_stalker 04-10-2005 05:19 AM

Hello children, what have i missed?

shadow_stalker 04-11-2005 10:18 AM

Wow slow thread these past few days...

shadow_stalker 04-11-2005 10:21 AM
so what do we reckon the setlist will be this summer?

/hasnt got a clue, hasnt heard enough sabbath albums
Same basic set as always: paranoid, war pigs, electric funreal, faries wear boots, iron man, NIB, Black sabbath, sweatleaf and then maybe a couple of different ones.

Brew 04-11-2005 11:24 AM

I'm not going to the Ozzfest at Download, I'm going on the sunday instead.

Why?

A few reasons...

1. I can't afford both days, Sunday has more bands that I want to see on it anyways, even though I've seen 3 bands before.
2. My dad is going on the Sunday - 'sup free lift there and back for me.
3. Sabbath won't be any different than on the Re-Union DVD (Last Supper), apart from the facts that Geezer is only in it for the money, Ozzy's vocie is pretty crap these days, Bill's half dead and Tony is well....Tony
4. Erm...I had a number 4 but its slipped my mind
5. I may change my mind when day tickets go on sale, but for the time being I'm only going on the Sunday.

ToRidTheDisease 04-11-2005 01:42 PM

I know that i'm going to Ozzfest.

BludgeonySteve 04-11-2005 09:00 PM

Black Sabbath would be the best band at Ozzfest. The rest I really don't care for. I don't think i'll go.

sabbathfan37 04-12-2005 03:28 PM

Im back. (hopefully i wont be off for another extended amount of time) While i was gone, one of my friends told me iron maiden was going to be at ozzfest, would that be correct?

ToRidTheDisease 04-12-2005 03:31 PM

They've been on from the start.

sabbathfan37 04-12-2005 03:33 PM

Oh. must have missed that info. thanks.

JACKROXYOU 04-12-2005 08:42 PM

rippa32 04-13-2005 05:32 AM

Child of the Grave 04-13-2005 06:13 AM

itd be cool if black sabbath did a gig in Australia these days. even if its just a crappy performance id still go.

Josh 04-13-2005 06:34 AM

Brew 04-13-2005 09:52 AM
yea so is mudvayne.................
There's nothing wrong with Mudvayne.

shadow_stalker 04-13-2005 10:14 AM

I dont like madvayne...from what i've heard.

Anyone else think sabbath should call it a day?

ATM 04-13-2005 10:19 AM

I'd like to see them at Ozzfest. I have never gotten the chance.

Brew 04-13-2005 10:20 AM

Download day tickets went on sale today

£50 + £7 booking fee = £57 each.

I might be able to afford Ozzfest + Download Sunday

ThugsRook 04-13-2005 10:23 AM
Anyone else think sabbath should call it a day?
shadow_stalker 04-13-2005 10:26 AM

I can afford to go to see sabbath...im not, but still.

shadow_stalker 04-13-2005 10:27 AM
yes, and so should Ozzy
I think ozzy should put out one more album come play at newcastle, then call it a day. :thumb:

Brew 04-13-2005 10:35 AM

Ozzy said he'd call it a day in 1992...
