Why's a Vs thread "against the rules"? It's a worthy debate, and I just asked for opinions, not for the Forum Nazis.... but thanks anyway kids. You'd think that in a Musician Forum, you'd be free to discuss anything about musicians... doesn't setting really strict rules go AGAINST the whole foundation of music?! How can regulate what you can and can't talk about when it comes to music? This is the worst forum I've EVER been on. If Axl Rose read this, he'd be impressed. James Hetfield on the other hand would call you all fags.

So i AGAIN ask the Mods to re-open this thread, or at least for there opinions, I gave my e-mail, so if this thread just simply CAN NOT be re-opened, I urge people to give me there oppinions.

the last thing I want to do is go onto the metallica thread and say that "guns and roses rocks!" ,or go onto the guns and roses thread and say that "metallica rocks!", just to get people's responces as to why they think differently.

I believe that a VS thread SHOULD be allowed, and would like to know why it isnt!

that is all.
Because people do it in a mindless fashion for the most part, and also compare or pit bands together that are not even comparable. And also it's all opinion, and fanboy's of the bands will come in and start a flame fest out of the thread. To many subjective opinions + fanboys + vs thread = flame fest and spam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the mods will alow you to make a verses thread if you put some thought into it, and the bands/artists are actually comparable. I agree that great disscusion can be made from these threads, but they are always ruined by idiots. We would get a few people actually dissucsing and giving reasons for why they prefer a band, but we would also get "omg u idiot band x is sooooo much better ten band y bany sux teh big 1!!!!1". The majority of these threads are also extreamly over done (ex:Metallica vs. Megadeth) I see your point, but the threads are ruined by idiots.

SLY_GUY 01-28-2005 09:21 PM

but these two bands ARE comarable, so simmilar, that this is a really good debate!

and I've been here for just over a day, so maybe I'm too 'new' to understand your crazy rules. (but you would have known that had you read my first post that is on page 161)

SLY_GUY 01-28-2005 09:23 PM

I apreciate you spelling it out for me in english EDDIE VAN HALEN 769

Werd, he covered the rest of it.

And also, if you don't like this forum or the rules, please leave. There are plenty of people here happy with the forums and the rules, and we don't need some new person coming in here and making a big deal out of the rules that doesn't understand how this forum works or its history of problems that are the reason those rules were created.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-28-2005 09:25 PM

Ok, quick question. How come when somebody is banned, you cannot rep that person? I just read that "New Megadeth" thread about the best guitarists, and I REALLY wanna neg rep him. Not that my rep will have much effect, but I mean, that was just dumb.

Yes, I know, I did read your other post. I was making a point.

Page after page of vs threads gets annoying, especially after months of them. There are reasons for the rules here, and the basic idea is that rather than starting the 8,000th awful, overdone vs thread, you become a member of the community, and learn people's opinions of various subjects and bands through discussion in other threads. If you want a quickfire, "I WANT MY VS DONE AND YOU'RE ALL FAGS IF YOU DON'T LET ME" thread, to get context-less, shallow responses, go to a different music forum and leave this one alone.

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-28-2005 09:29 PM

Oh, and for the thing on your post on page 161, Guns N' Roses and Metallica are not comparable. They are not even in the same genre of music and you want to compare them?

This guy deserves a nice ban slapping.

Bartender 01-28-2005 09:38 PM

Seriously, shut the fuck up. You know nothing about this forum, yet you come in here complaining about it, god damn you are just like a little 12 year old that cries when they don't get it their way.

And slightly different? Metallica is thrash metal for the majority of their releases, and GNR's is freakin' hardrock, how can you compare those two? There is no opinion's on why they play different, it is a fact of life of what type of music they play.

Seriously, you're not off to a good start. Why don't you just join the disscusion going on in the threads now?

Thanks. Which one is **********? And I'd rather not just click to find out :)

He linked to it wrongly, anyway. Would have just brought up an error page.

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-28-2005 10:12 PM

It's the one with the 3 old men...

And ya, that is true, would have just brought up an error message. But some one could just copy and paste the link into the browser, and there is probably kids and such on this site as well...

Bartender 01-28-2005 10:16 PM

Well yeah, it's no excuse. Just pointing out idiocy as I see it.
