"Battery" is my favorite song of theirs, actually.
They only have a few bad songs on the first three albums. "Escape," "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)," and "Disposable Heroes" being those songs. I think Master of Puppets is their best album, but Ride the Lightning was my favorite through elementary and middle school.
I liked Escape because it showed their NWOBHM roots; nice and cheesy. |
Zappa and I have the exact same postcount! :o
Not anymore :p Unless he's posted recently. |
We do once more.
|
No!
|
Not really...:p
|
crazy

I wonder where THS and I would be if we were the same sorts of veterans that we are, but post-whores as well. Compared to most, we're pretty reserved.

Yeah, I still find it hard to believe that some people can get 8,000 posts in a few months. |
I recently decided to listen to SP's MCIS in its entirity... pretty cool, the songs that are bad (Scorched earth comes to mind..) dont stand out as much when thrown against such a huge number of good songs, and theres just such a variety that it never gets boring. Very cool.

I've really been diggin' Hex by Bark Psychosis and a bunch of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, and Fly Pan Am.
|
I just bought "a series of sneaks" by Spoon... and i'm just listening to it over and over and over and... great cd. Check their website out to listen to songs, especially "jonathan fisk". addictive
|
Jonathon Fisk is a bloody brilliant song.
|
I've been lsitening to David Bowie a lot
|
I've been listening to Puggy a lot recently. They played at our university the other day and they were the best act i've seen play there. Live they sounded like a mellow Mr. Bungle with Jeff Buckley-esque vocals.
I'm listening to the studio versions now and they don't sound like that. It's still really good stuff though. www.puggyband.com |
The Decemberists - Her Majesty
|
The Minders and Charles Mingus. And a dose of Doom. MF Doom.

Anyway, lately I've been listening to Jonathan Fire*Eater and Quasi. |
Joy Division
Kraftwerk Manic Street Preachers Explosions In The Sky Television Talking Heads ....all of whom I'm going to rip off for my Music Tech coursework, so I figured I'd listen to them for ideas. |
I've been totally down with Bomb The Music Industry! lately. They are insane.
|
The Minders and Charles Mingus. And a dose of Doom. MF Doom.
What Mingus? |
What Mingus?
Mingus Ah Um. Absolutely enthralled by it. Any suggestions on where to go from here? |
The Black Saint And the Sinner Lady is my favorite of his.
|
Picked up Faith No More's Album of the Year today, amongst others. So far that's all I've had time to really listen to today :-/
Yeah, I went back to that HMV sale :( |
The answer was "The Naked Gun," by the way. That's where the song "I'm Into Something Good" by Herman's Hermits came from (or where I heard it anyway).
|
recently... Prosaics - "Aghast Agape EP". It's pretty decent stuff. Definitely influenced by Joy Division's famous production but with a slicker sheen and the music follows accordingly with the angular/post-punk vibe.
|
Bloc Party is what I've been listening to today. I'm inconvenienced to no end by the fact that my v-amp has died.
|
I've gotten back into my Mogwai phase again. But I've also begun to listen to Sunn O))).
|

I'm going back this Friday. It's conveniently on the way to the NHS walk-in clinic. |
I've gotten back into my Mogwai phase again. But I've also begun to listen to Sunn O))).
I listened to Mogwai for hours yesterday. Not bad. The only thing i've listened to today so far is part of Damien Rice - O |
Conor Oberst (most bright eyes and desaparecidos)
Elliott Smith Bloc Party |
