We do, but then people complain that the thread shouldn't have been closed or they were wrongfully banned because they weren't "the only ones".

The best thing any forum member can do is to ignore the "trolling" so that the thread, if poor, dies itself and two, so stupid arguments don't actually continue.

To be honest with you Krup, its not "turning a blind eye".
Its a pro active way for the members of this forum to combat "Trolling" by taking away what makes trolling trolling. The reaction.

If we went around closing and banning folk everytime it comes up there would barely be a member and thread left, you included.

I'm simply saying instead of complaining about it while contributing to the problem, take a step yourself (and many others reading this) to combat it by ignoring it when it comes up and if a thread is doomed to fail from the beginning, let it fail and we'll have no more.

Its the responsibility of those that can to make a difference, but everyone on this forum can make that difference. Just use your head when you use the forum.

You can yell at a moron, warn a moron, even ban a moron, but they're still a moron and particularly with how easy it is to come back to MX after you've been banned, morons have no reason to stop being morons

Again, mods don't have a "make all the users post better" button, and the quality of the forum isn't related to how often mods ban people. It's the citizens that make the community, not the mayor.

Hey I know you guys (Dave?) don't like a lot of stickies, but since you closed the Gear Thread can you just sticky one so people can put all their new gear in there.

It won't work, people think that they're special and deserve their own thread, so it'll never get used.
