Let's discuss:

1) How much the Counting Crows rock.

2) How awesome, both in terms of notes played and tone, the bass is in "Hangin' Around."

It is a nifty line, isn't it.
It is a nifty line, isn't it.
Yeah, it really is. It's one of those things I never paid much notice to before and then I revisted the song a while ago and was all "Hmm. This is neat."

Akira 10-16-2006 07:20 PM

I have come to the conclusion that stuff costs too much.

Yeah... yeah, it does.

Spaceman Spiff 10-16-2006 07:27 PM

Back in my day, you could get a Hershey for a nickel.

The Brad 10-16-2006 07:28 PM

The Counting Crows were cool, I really liked August and Everything After, but after that I just kinda grew disinterested and moved on. I am sure if I tried to listen to that album now I would just ruin it.

... In Willie Nelson's day you could get a dimebag for a dime. ;)

BenJammin 10-16-2006 07:28 PM

I'm really considering having Jared build me a bass in the summer.

I like that album a lot. I don't listen to it, but usually when I'm feeling really melancholy, I put it on.
Back in my day, you could get a Hershey for a nickel.
Yeah, but I bet you had to walk 10 miles to school everyday, and it was uphill both ways.

Spaceman Spiff 10-16-2006 07:30 PM

A nickel!

The Brad 10-16-2006 07:31 PM

Was it a nickel?

I haven't seen that movie in years.

Way to use "disinterested" incorrectly, sperm bank.

:p

Uninterested is the word you were looking for. :thumb:

It's okay, it's a very common mistake.

I was still talking about my other post.

I actually don't know what you were talking about...

The Brad 10-16-2006 07:34 PM

You caught me, I've been writing an art paper and... yeah no excuses.

It's from Half Baked.

Akira 10-16-2006 07:37 PM

Anyone have any experience with Cubase? I am kind of interested in getting it, but it comes in like 600 different versions. Although the options are narrowed by cost. I just am not sure what differentiates one version from another.

I don't think most people actually know that there's a difference between uninterested and disinterested. I always see people use disinterested instead of uninterested, and most people don't catch on as it being a mistake.

Disinterested - unbiased, impartial

Yarr... here comes the language police!

The Brad 10-16-2006 07:40 PM

Yeah I double checked it after you flagged me, I've never been told one way or another. I suppose it's because I never use either word, but I'll try and keep it on the up and up, sir.

I didn't think disinterested was a word, but as far as this topic goes, I'm pretty uninterested.

Ting 10-16-2006 07:43 PM

God damn. First time forum has worked inawhile for me.

Pretty good. Kind of noodling around. GASing for a cab and a new bass. The usual. :p

nice man. i had a gas for a bongo earlier today, but it was very minor gas.

Radiobass81 10-16-2006 07:55 PM

Recordings updated:

Got two new songs. One is pretty incredible (I never liked it, until now. So much different just hearing it to actually playing it), even if it is too heavy for me, and the other one is real good, but they ruined the solo, and from the solo afterwards they had someone else record it, and not me. Arg.

I want a 6.

I still can't past the Bongo's looks.

Spaceman Spiff 10-16-2006 08:03 PM

I don't even think the Bongo is ugly, and it's glorious to play... just not enough strings. My only problem, though I only played it for about 10-15 minutes, was popping on the G string because of the pickup. Still a freaking great bass, though.

Yeah, those things are kind of a hit or miss with people.

I just don't understand the attractiveness that people find in them.

I guess I kinda like the orange ones. I'd still rather have a 'Ray.

Spaceman Spiff 10-16-2006 08:07 PM

I don't find them extremely attractive either, but I don't find them horribly ugly. But the tone and playability are top notch.
