We are in the new place and I am just wrapping up sorting out my new room. Just organising where I want things to go.

It (the room) is quite easily twice the size of the old one, almost too big.

Been fighting to re-EQ my Hi-Fi for the new acoustics, but the bass amp seems to love it though.

Otherwise how go things with you HoW?

HELLonWHEELS 09-28-2006 12:44 AM

Every things pretty good over here. My thumb really hurts from trying to double thumb and my sister accidentaly found a great way mute my bass.

BTW: When are you going to start EUB build again

I am going to try get some work done on it this weekend, but that may prove a little trickier than anticipated considering the garage in which all the tools are is currently filled with left over stuff from the move that is going to be gotten rid of.

Good part is that the thicknesser planner is accessible so I wil probably prep the other pieces of timber I bought.

I took apart my old desk yesterday that was going to be burned/given away because we would not get anything much for it. The reason I wanted to keep it is becaszue pretty much the entire desk is made out of Wenge/Panga Panga with some of the most beautiful grail I have ever seen.

It is pretty badly scratched but that is easily sanded/planned down to smooth raw wood. I am actually contemplating using a piece of it for the fretboard, but managed to track down some african blackwood yesterday for a price I cannot refuse (african blackwood is the same stuff they love to use for bagpipes, oboes, claranets, esentially very similar to ebony and extremely hard and dense)

So thats pretty much it on the wood front. I did also pickup some potemeters yesterday and ordered pickups and a bridge the other day, so now just waiting for all the goodies to arrive so that when the garage is a bit cleaner I can really get going.

I am now.

It was after 1AM when you made that post, I usually get to bed around 12.

BenJammin 09-28-2006 12:15 PM

zomg, I are in Montreal.

And there are a lot of backwards French people here.

Spaceman Spiff 09-28-2006 12:15 PM

Is the concert tonight?

BenJammin 09-28-2006 12:17 PM

Yeah, the doors open at 7:30. Dunno when it actually gets underway.

 We're staying with my friend's cousin and his friend, in a 1 bedroom apartment. So there's the four of us, plus the two people who own the apartment, and then they both have 2 girlfriends.

So there are 8 of us staying in a 1 bedroom apartment.

ebe9 09-28-2006 12:18 PM

Evening all.

This place dies during the middle of the day (my time zone that is)

Spaceman Spiff 09-28-2006 12:19 PM

That's crazy.

If you want to catch The Mars Volta, you should probably be there for the doors, they seem to come on very early.

Anyway, I'm off to class. Maybe I'll talk to you again before you leave for the concert.

They came on an hour after their scheduled time when I saw them. Yes, get to the doors as early as possible, its awesome to be upfront. But watch for drunk moshing assholes.

It a lot easier to just say, "aw fuck it lets get it" when you are in a relationship.

When single you tend to pick bigger thngs you want to get becasue they seem more attainable.

lemoley 09-28-2006 01:02 PM

well im off, only came for a short visit

bye

yeah. and on top of that i can have band practices without having to call somebody during our break. and i can just hang out. i miss it sometimes, but in the long run i'll be better off i guess. i think i am taking it VERY well for the amount of time though. almost went out four years and it's only been a week and a half since she broke up with me. just trying to focus on the good things right now.

I have actually had a bit of a laugh at you and Jody.

Not in a bad way, just at how the two of you represent the opposite extremes of the post break up situation.

You being strong and moving on with your life. Not letting the past bring you down too much. I salute you on that one.

And

Jody, who really sems to be struggling with his break up and subsequent crap that has gone down with the girl and those other guys. I hope he realises that life is not always fair but you have to make do with what it gives you.

All the best Jody if you are around.

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 01:13 PM

yeah. i just don't want to avoid confusion in the future. if she meets some other guy and they become something, i don't want to be hanging around, change her mind, and have her dump him for me, and vice versa. i really don't want to bring other people into it, i'd feel really terrible about it. i've seen the "hung up over ex" syndrome several times, and it's really ****ty. i've been talking with her, but i made it clear that i don'[t want to see her in person for a long time to avoid confusion and mixed feelings.

DaveSavesTheDay 09-28-2006 01:13 PM

So, I'm sick as shit right now. I'm so tierd, I have a massive headache and I'm really cold.

I went to see my girlfriend for lunch, so that was good, but I'm still incredibly tierd and what not.

On top of that, my work called and asked me to go in to help out tonight. I said I'd go if: a) I got a free meal b) I get to leave at 8:30 no matter what c) I'm not doing an strenious activites.

They agreed

maybe jody's one of those guys that doesn't say **** about it in real life all day, but just gets on here to completely vent. ?
I don't know. Benefit of the doubt.

The saftey in strangers deal.

One can come here and spill ones heart out and for the most part people are sympathetic. Real life people will be sympathetic too, but will eventually become bored with someone who cannot let go.

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 01:17 PM

i doubt it. trust me man... you vent. i had a good friend help guide me through it every step of the way. she even let me come go up to her college and crash there for the night to get me out of my house and to talk about it. I never, never, NEVER party, but we all got obliterated together and it was a really good time. one of the ****tiest weeks of my life was made all better by getting out and talking to people that matter to me.... and completely forgetting about it for a few hours :chug:

the drive there and back gave me a lot of time to think too.

DaveSavesTheDay 09-28-2006 01:17 PM

It's possible, but I doubt it. Jody seems really capable of expressing himself.
