Well all the tracks I have so far are amazing. This album might blow my mind...
I'm afraid I might over listen when I first get it |
I've been listening to it pretty consistently for the last two weeks and nah it's pretty hard to kill. There's a lot going on in every song. My plays have obviously slowed down now that the initial omgomfgomfg is over though.
|
so you actually have the album cocaine?
did you download it or something? |
He knows the band personally...
|
Me getting it has nothing to do with that, I got it from their publicist to review on Sputnik.
|
nice, so its amazing?
i cant wait for it to hit the stores |
I recently discovered them (Kezia) and I quite like them. The music and lyrics reminded me of Pain Of Salvation, just hardcore.
Is the EP worth getting or should I just wait for the next album? |
i think the ep is worth getting, but thats just me.
|
Kezia is way better, but it's still pretty good.

completely! i love the whole idea of a concept record job for a cowboy did it with genesis really well and they did it amazingly well with kezia |
Job For A Cowboy did a concept album? I didn't even know. Then again, I don't really care for them.
|
yeah genesis is all about how the devil is born and comes to rule the world. the lyrics for that album are pretty damn sweet, whether you like the music or not.
|
How the hell can you tell what he's saying with his vocals? That's why I don't like it.

here:
Not really, no. I Am Dmitri Karamazov and the World is my Father is the best thing they've ever written at it's core but it's hindered by their pubescent immaturity and rody's voice. But yeah no. It's really cool to hear the basic progression but they're very evident of the group's youth. Basically, I map their progress like this: 5th Commandment > Take and Take > Is Anybody There? > Silent Genocide > Asperity of Sin > ACUOS EP > Soft Targets (added to the EP a year later for the re-release, hence why it sounds out of place - it was rush-recorded for a sampler) > Kezia > Fortress blablabla. The most drastic changes were from the Is Anybody There/Silent Genocide-era hardcore punk songs (Search for the Truth 7") to Asperity of Sin, and then from the EP to Kezia (excluding Soft Targets, which is a great song, but obvious in it's rushed, forced "just because we had to" nature).

The point is that unless you were around when the EP, 7" and compilations dropped, they'll probably be meaningless to you. They're very immature, albeit still enjoyable, but in the end the people still appreciating it are the ones who got to see these songs develop, all before Kezia was solidified. There was nothing quite as exciting as seeing a group of kids evolve like that, and if you missed out on the initial evolution, hindsight is not quite as favourable. That's alls I'm saying.
|
lol i guess i just listened to it a lot
and the lyrics are online and i think are in the booklet. look em up online, they're kinda cool. but inderstand what you're saying, he fits a LOT of words into one bar of the song so it is hard to understand anything he's saying. |
I just think it's cool to see how they have progressed.
|
from deathcore to straight up death metal? i thought so too, a lot of people hate em for it, its kinda funny
|
y'aint heard nothin' yet
|
y'aint heard nothin' yet
Stop talking about JFAC in this thread. I meant from pth, progression wise.

haha sorry it just kinda came up quickly yeah im hopin fortress is a big progression from kezia, even though they wouldn't have to progress at all and just make new music and it would probably still be amazing. |

I actually was talking about what Cocaine was talking about with PTH, but sure. |

|
That was my favorite at first. Still an awesome song.
|
I need to listen to the album more. Are their early albums better or worse or similar?
|
Read Tyler's gigantic quote about the EP on the last page...
Basically, no. |
Ahh ok sweet then i wont bother getting them if what. I am loving this though
NP divinity within |
Blindfolds Aside is the best...
|
Turn Soonest To The Sea is the best, followed by No Stars Over Bethlehem and Heretics and Killers.
|
Blindfolds Aside
No Stars Over Bethlehem She Who Mars The Skin Of Gods Top 3 right there. |
Turn Soonest To The Sea is the best, followed by No Stars Over Bethlehem and Heretics and Killers.
He's got it, plus Blindfolds. |
I agree on the two first, but after that, I can't decide which is number three.
|
Maybe add in She Who Mars The Skin of Gods, for the ending.
|
F that bury the hatchet and nautical are awesome
bury the hatchet got a in your face opening..... i personally think "i place your justice in my palm and then i make a fist and punch your grimace face" is like the best quote from the album imo |
I personally think Nautical is like the worst song on that album.
|
well i thought bury and nautical wasnt good at first but then it grew on me like hell
