Yeah its one of my faves, Darkest Hour have picked up the slack for the Swedish bands that have gotten lame lately (Soilwork, In Flames, etc.)

i bought Ascendancy the other week, its an amazing album, i couldn't pick a best song because IMO they're all great, although my favourites are Rain, Ascendancy, A Gunshot to the head of trepidation, Pull Harder..., dying in your arms and Like light to the flies.

yeah there been alot of talk that there the next metallica i really like trivium there one of the few bands who still do solos and i really like the choruses to most of there song especially "pull harder"

I dont really think they sound anything like metallica, and meaning the next metal band to break through the mainstream barrier, that wont happen either, mainstream listeners won't like the vocals for one. The ryhtym guitars is more amon amarth, listen to ancient sign of a storm coming and you will see its very simular, definatly not the tone but rythym is very simular. I also find there lead breakoffs to be simular to inflames if anything. and the vocals are screamo-emo if anything >_< but ive never really listened to metal for the vocals, there are exceptions like bruce in my avatar however >_>.

I got there album expecting something metallica-esque aswell, not finding that in my opinion, which ive just pointed out, but however do enjoy acendency immensly. I dont think a new metallica will ever arise, because it is not the 1980s :naughty: However they are very awesome band. :thumb:

Maybe try downloading some of there songs from it if you have Limewire or similar. I have heard a few songs and the singing is alot weaker but the guitar is still cool, not as good as Ascendancy but nothing poor, its worth buying. Have a look at the review of it on Sputnik.

The new Gunshot single, the riff under the Cory's solo is a Blackwater Park riff, along with that RTL rip. It's too similiar to not be called rip offs.
