any death metal song that has a 10 second solo. they might sound good, but theyre too short and i dont like solos like that

What about power/thrash/black/prog/nwobhm metal songs with 10 second solos? Or are you just confined to death metal?

I dont much like shredding.. but thats an opinion, and they're not really bad, per se. I can subjectively say that shredding probably takes quite a lot of talent to play. Durst, though, really shouldn't pick up a guitar. The audience actually [I]cheers.[/I] Unbelievable.

As far as individual songs.. its really not my right to say, cause I cant play worth a $hit.

well yeah i guess in general would be a better way to put it, but death is really the only genre that i have on my ipod with 10 second solos. but yeah you have a point and i forgot to include those genres

I should say that every "solo" played in punk bands are the worst.

The solo in the Cradle of Filth live DVD of when they are in the studio. Kinda hard to describe but anyone who has seen the DVD would know of what I speak.

Hmm the only time i consider a solo bad is when it's right out of place with the song.

I might get flamed by fanboys but Metallica's 'Unforgiven' solo. Its quite flat and i just don't like the tone, but i'm not comparing it to earlier works as Metallica haters would do. I like Metallica just that song isn't as great as most people let on, i feel its terribly overrated.
