May I ask if anyone likes Unexpect?.. And if so is there any bands that have a similar sound and/or attitude.

I just could'nt find anything related in this great thread. Or I just dont know in wich categories they fall in to.

And if anyone dos'nt know Unexpect I strongly suggest you check them out its very enjoyable.

very

Deth 08-04-2009 10:33 AM

they don't have anything to do with anything that was asked

Shaad 08-04-2009 10:44 AM

I just tought I could participate to the suggestions database.

Tyler 08-04-2009 12:20 PM

To get suggestions, not arbitrarily and randomly give them.

Shaad 08-04-2009 12:35 PM

I like random

Jaundice 08-04-2009 02:06 PM

Don't mind him, Shaad. He's just a bit uptight because it's too hot to wear flannel this time of the year.

Shaad 08-04-2009 02:22 PM

I dont mind, Its the usual newbie welcome attitude. :)

Great Mars Volta album btw.

Jaundice 08-04-2009 02:26 PM

What, some one who appreciates Amputechture? You must be a weird one.

Welcome to sputnik music forums, be sure to read the R&M User Summaries thread.

Shaad 08-04-2009 02:30 PM

I like everything Mars Volta does. I have`nt heard much of the new one tho.

And thanks its a pleasure to read/post here. For the user summaries, well there's aloooot of users its gonna take me some time.

Yeah that's it. has nothing to do with this thread being about asking for suggestions instead of randomly giving them.

Oh and I don't wear flannel. I own one flannel shirt.

Jaundice 08-05-2009 01:33 AM

I was just playing around bro :(

Morumbar 08-05-2009 06:58 AM

Summaries thread is elite.

Can anyone recommend me some instrumental atmospheric/depressive bm, btw?

Tyler 08-05-2009 08:29 AM

Maybe 'While sad spirits around me stroll'? Idk. They're okay.

No one's really like unexpect (that i've heard) but if you're looking for bands with similar mentalities maybe check out Augury...again they are not like unexpect at all (aside from a feature of member(s) from unexpect being on Fragmentary Evidence) but i cud see a person who liked one gettin into the other...and Amputechture rules...

I'd like to hear a band with trumpets, saxophones and br00tal...brootal not so important but a metal band that incorporates them perhaps...also, Cocaine (or anyone) please rec me an avant-garde death metal band who's music i can find...

Si1v3RfaNg 08-06-2009 12:28 AM

Hey guys whats some good thrash metal with melody?

Jaundice 08-06-2009 12:30 AM

Metallica - And Justice For All

Tyler 08-06-2009 12:31 AM
if you're looking for bands with similar mentalities maybe check out Augury...again they are not like unexpect at all
wow great job

First I'd start with Ephel Duath's The Painter's Palette. Sear Bliss are a melodic black metal band with a trumpet player...Sculptured have used a sax, but they're not 'brutal'. To be honest, there's other acts out there (Phlebotomized, At the Gates have used violins, for example), but more often than not they're gimmicky. If you're strictly after more avant-garde ****, try looking at Ordo Draconis or Subterranean Masquerade.

Man I mean melodic... and I know ALL metallica.

Jaundice 08-06-2009 12:33 AM

Hmm. What do you mean by melodic then?

Aaron 08-06-2009 12:33 AM
Hey guys whats some good thrash metal with melody?
All bands have melody, it's a pretty redundant label. What style of thrash are you already into?

I like Sodom's persecution mania... and the reason I'm asking about melodic thrash is because I gave Municipal Waste's new album a listen and I really like the melody... but it's a promo so there abnoxious beeping like every minute.

Tyler 08-06-2009 12:35 AM

Mastery (Can) maybe? Instrumental, mind you.

Holy Terror - Terror and Submission
Holy Terror - Mind Wars

two of my favorite thrash metal albums of all time with some excellent taste for melody, not so much like Municipal Waste but seriously they rule

some other stuff, more speed metal-ish:
Blind Guardian - Battalions of Fear
Helloween - Walls of Jericho

yeah those bands ended up being power metal, but their first releases are raw speed metal

Stormrider 08-06-2009 09:08 AM

GUARDIAN
GUARDIAN
GUARDIAN OF THE BLIND

In that case, shouldn't you get other Municipal Waste albums, then?

Ceminon, you should also look into Orrery. They have one album, but its excellent.

Morumbar 08-06-2009 09:48 AM

Will do. Thanks. :)
