haha, yeah they were pretty good, beat us by a buzzer beater. Norco High had its fair share of dumb redneck teachers. i was too shy to mess with the teachers
|
Nice.
Anyone here like A Plea For Purging? Good friends of mine...their debut cd is coming out in october on Facedown records. Should be kickass. |
ICB, didn't they play at Cornerstone?
Anyways, I listen to numerous Christian Metal bands. One I recently discovered is "Blessed By a Broken Heart." They dress and perform like they're an 80's Hard Rock group, but their music sounds quite recent as excellent. Melodic rifts with Brutal vocals and also known for the comedic 'Mic Skillz' series.
ICB, didn't they play at Cornerstone?
Yup, as did my band... They probably had the best shows out of anyone at Cornerstone though. Most likely because they won the gallon challenge between them, us, and Common Yet Forbidden in the Bushnell, Illinois Wal-Mart parking lot the night before. That was their good luck charm, bastards  I hate BBABH, but the "Mic Skillz" songs are entertaining.but childish. They have a stupid sense of humor. |
I wish I got my band to play at Conerstone.
Well, I enjoy BBABH, but there are numerous bands I find far superior. |

It ain't that hard. Start off by trying to get a spot on any of the generator stages there. That's what we did 2 years ago, and this year we got to play on the Sanctuary Stage and the Underground stage, as well as many generator stages. |
What is the name of your band?
|
With Faith or Flames. I only whore out my band in every thread on here :p
|
Ah, really?
Well, as you can clearly see, I am a n00b to this forum. |
Yes I see that well :p
|
Anyways, I've been in a few bands and this one is the only one that I think will get anywhere.
Since I'm assuming you're band is in farther progression than mine, do you have any tips as far as being in a band goes. Like how to schedule practices, and how often should we have them, ect. |
Practice as OFTEN as possible man. We usally practice 5 days a week if it's possible. Constant touring and making the right contacts also helps..
|
The most we practice is once a week because we all have part-time jobs.
There are seven people in my band and I serve as lead vocalist. Out of curiosity, what role do you serve in your band? |
I play guitar and handle like 75% of the songwriting.
|
Me and two of the three guitarists have an equal role in songwriting.
|
Sweet.
The reason I'm doing so much of the songwriting is that our other guitarist is lazy...but usually I will come up with a "rough draft" per se, for a song, and see if the guys like it and get excited about it. Me and the other guitarit will then work on it and do some changing around of the riffs and structure and such and then we'll jam on it as a band and change it up as a band, etc etc...it's a long process haha. |

yeah, they actually do a really good cover of it... they've got some other covers they pull out now and then... Pantera - Mouth for war (i think thats the name.. i dont know pantera really), Pat Benatar - Love is a Battlefield (lol... its sweet), Pillar - Battle Cry or somethin like that.. not sure.. i dont know any pillar... they've done Blindside and Journy also in the past... but they dont like doing covers really. -Sixner |
well when they do do them, at least with KSE, they do them pretty well
|
I thought that cover of The End Of Heartache sucked tbh.

cool. TBH, i thought it was good. it obviously wasnt the original, but its a hard song to cover, and i thought they did it pretty well |
Why would it be a hard song to cover? The riffs are pretty simple, the only difficulty could be in the vocals. It felt very rushed and half hearted.
|
well the riffs sounded gud to me, and the vocals actually kinda resembled Jones's. it was a little rushed in spots, but for some band ive never even heard of, it wasn't half bad.
