It's amazing. Not in this thread though.

Dimmu Burger 06-13-2007 03:17 PM

Sorry, I tend to lump them in since they tour with a lot of metalcore bands.

encmetalhead 06-13-2007 03:37 PM

new album was in daily upload but since they are melo-death with meatlcore influences i think we could possably mention them...

Tyler 06-13-2007 04:02 PM
they are melo-death with meatlcore influences i think we could possably mention them...
No they are just melodeath.

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 04:04 PM

You are the biggest Genre Nazi ever.

Tyler 06-13-2007 04:05 PM

No, I'm the biggest logical solution nazi ever. There is not hardcore so therefore there is not metalcore so therefore they are melodic death metal.

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 04:09 PM

That's not true. They most definatly have metalcore influences.

Tyler 06-13-2007 04:12 PM

Maybe pre-Undoing Ruin there's some hardcore influence but not really since. Most people who say that don't listen to hardcore, so their opinion is null and void.

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 04:19 PM

Well, Undoing Ruin still has a hardcore influence, but if Metalcore wasn't this big gothenburg style, then I guess it wouldn't be considered metalcore.

Tyler 06-13-2007 04:20 PM

Where's the hardcore influence? And since when is Metalcore a "gothenburg" style? Most the bands with the gothenburg influence are actually just death metal bands, so once again, they're just melodeath.

encmetalhead 06-13-2007 04:21 PM

well why not talk abotu darkest hour in the melo-death thread i made?

anyway, doesn't anyone esle hate the fact that the scene kids are liking metalcore now so now we're gettign a bunch of rip-offs just trying to make the scenesters happy and get some cheap money?

Eliminator 06-13-2007 04:23 PM

why not talk about them in the death metal thread which you know you can talk about melo death in there just in case you didnt now

enc why are you complaining about scene kids when you are one

Dimmu Burger 06-13-2007 04:23 PM

I think scene kids have liked metalcore for a couple of years now.

encmetalhead 06-13-2007 04:25 PM

i'm not a scene kid, i'm so far from scene that i'm my own scene

Dimmu Burger 06-13-2007 04:26 PM

lol what is your scene called?

Tyler 06-13-2007 04:28 PM

encmetalhead 06-13-2007 04:35 PM

As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains to a certain extent, are all undoubtedly metalcore, yet rely heavily on Gothenburg riffing.

I think what he means is you can have Gothenberg style guitars and not be metalcore, but you can be metalcore and have Gothenberg style guitars.

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 06:33 PM

Uhhh, yeah. Somethin like that.

Nepenthe 06-13-2007 06:35 PM

Good lord this has to be the stupidest thread there is.

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 06:47 PM

What was the point of that? Anyway...

If we consider It Dies Today metalcore then we have to consider FATA metalcore. They are pretty similar.

Ehhh....It Dies Today are a lot more generic IMO and FATA actually have catchy songs as opposed to just catchy song titles like "Freak Gasoline Fight Accident".

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 07:42 PM

Yeah, but you have to admit that they do sound similar, at least enough to undoubtadly label FATA metalcore.

I dont mind calling them metalcore, but I wont say they sound alike, sorry!

LifeInABox 06-13-2007 08:06 PM

Hmm, whatever. Opinons differ from person to person.

RunAmokRampant 06-14-2007 02:09 AM

Lets us be honest her, FATA is pretty terrible no matter what genre they're in.

Truth.

LifeInABox 06-14-2007 01:59 PM

No, they're not terrible, their decent, and I like thier new album. I won't say their anything more though.

Dimmu Burger 06-14-2007 02:10 PM

I still like them a lot, its kind of a loyalty thing since they are one of the first bands of that genre that I really got into back in '01.
