Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is most definitely new DB. It was released right before Death Cult Armageddon.
Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny, Kings of Carnival Creation, Hybrid Stigmata - The Apostasy, and Sympozium are all ace songs, but I felt the album had many more "meh" moments than DCA. The main selling point of PEM also seems to be the song Puritania, which I think is one of their worst songs ever.
I love the song Bleesings Upon The Throne Of Tyranne. Thats the song that got me to get some more of their songs. A big reason why I want PEM. |

That's one of their best songs ever, easily the best on the album. Unfortunately, most on that album weren't as good. It's still worth buying though. I bought it last week and don't regret it. |

I dont think I'll regret it either. Though I have to wait about a month, Im only gunna get a chance to buy it during the Chrismas holidays, while I'm on vacation. I dunno about you, but I like Dimmu Borgir's vocals. There the only ones that sound like that. "From the battle, already won" Blessings Upon The Throne Of Tyranne, I love that line. |

I think Shagrath's scream sounds really good, and in recent times they've mastered the art of clean singing. The only drawback is that Shagrath occasionally makes some stupid vocal decisions, such as this lyrical quote: "Blagh! Blagh! Blagh! Blagh! Blagh! Blagh! Blagh!" - taken from Allehelgens Død I Helveds Rike I don't mind it too much anymore, as I find it rather humorous. |
We could get rid of the Pit :P
No. I hope that the :P is serious, by the way. |

Old Dimmu is better than new imo, but I like both a lot. Albums like Stormblast are fantastic.
|
You should hear the re-release. I thought it was going to be pure crap, but I can't stop listening to it. Their sound does not flourish well under the unpolished production of their first two album.
/me ponders making a Dimmu thread |

/me ponders making a Dimmu thread
Argh, I was thinking that too. I was about to go look some stuff up when I saw your post. Oh well. |

I've been thinking about it for a while now. I was planning on adding links to all kinds of resources and I even had a catchy name planned out. Sorry to steal your thunder. |
Argh, I was thinking that too. I was about to go look some stuff up when I saw your post. Oh well.
Heh, you two should collaborate, that'd be pretty damn cool. |
It's taken from the song that I noted right below it.
And they're from Norway.
Oops, sorry missed that.. Wasnt there already a Dimmu thread floating around somewhere though ? |
No.
I hope that the :P is serious, by the way.
Agreed...Deleting The Pit would cause some insane percussions. It would probably help this supposed bandwidth problem(Which actually doesn't exist). In other news, today I was at a friend's house, and his brother has a drumkit, so I tried to play along with a couple Tool songs. I wasn't exactly trying to follow along with how Carey actually plays the songs, but I had a good time* playing The Grudge drum solo. *Got raped |
Oops, sorry missed that..
Wasnt there already a Dimmu thread floating around somewhere though ?
That thread was made quite a while ago. It also wasn't of the highest quality. |

/me ponders making a Dimmu thread
Eh, I got my copy for like $7, I find it to be a great buy :D But hearing remastered versions would be neat (though not very tr00 rollteheyes) Jake: Overrated though I find Carey to be...if you could play Tool songs on drums just on a whim, I'd so hate you. |
Hmm. What would you call the thread Shadows?
|
I was thinking something with "Sorgens Kammer", which means "Chamber of Sorrows" (as well as an amazing song). I thought it was quite a cool thing to use as a title.

That is potentially my favorite song by them. It's also the song I used to get my gf into them :D |
Thats cool.
Bartender, you repped me and said to stop double posting, but the rep was a ++ one? Was that on purpose? |
That thread was made quite a while ago.
It also wasn't of the highest quality.
Oh, Well yeah, I havnt seen it around ina while. Oh well, in that case making a new better one would be a good idea.
No. I hope that the :P is serious, by the way.
Yeah, I was only joking.. |
Jake: Overrated though I find Carey to be...if you could play Tool songs on drums just on a whim, I'd so hate you.
There's a very fine line between playing Tool songs on drums, and playing them correctly. :p Although I was keeping up quite well, especially considering the fact that the song is in 5/8. Jay - Sometimes he reps users for doing something wrong, but if he knows you're a good user, then he'll + you. That's what he said he did to someone a while back, as well. |
Oops, sorry missed that..
Wasnt there already a Dimmu thread floating around somewhere though ?
Yeah, but it wasn't an insanely informative double write-up.
Agreed...Deleting The Pit would cause some insane percussions.
Plex posting in R&M, dick and fart jokes and :naughty:'s, oh my! |
Yeah, but it wasn't an insanely informative double write-up.
So you are really suggesting me and ShadowsFall team up and do it? |
That is potentially my favorite song by them.
It's also the song I used to get my gf into them :D
It's amazing. Too bad the guys were nice enough to not use it on Stormblast 2005. I wasn't going to do a full write-up on them, but I was planning on adding resources and info to make it a worthwhile thread. |

It is a good idea. But is it possible to put 2 names under where it sais by who the thread was created by ? |

No. One or the other of us would have to be the one to post it. |

To be honest I play by sound more than actually counting. I have no idea what time sig a song I'm jamming to is in, I just know where all the "notes" go. |
