Haa, I think he was referencing Kaya as in the dread Marijuana, my man.
haha, sh't i feel stupid
Also, my computer can't handle YSI uploads, but I just got 'Arkology' by Lee "Scratch" Perry, which is a three-disc boxed set and it is killer. It really does a great job of showcasing Perry's talent. My screen name is arsonmadeeasy if anyone wants it.
yeah i have that...some amazing songs on those albums

KayaMon 12-13-2005 06:32 PM
i didnt find kaya that great? what are some of your favourite songs off that album?...catch a fire is the best, in my opinion
haha sorryi missed this, i was referencing ganja, jahs sacred herb. But honestly ilove Kaya, songs like Sun is shining, Misty Morning, shes gone, kaya, and Easy skanking are all classics, really uplifting roots. I'll agree though that Catch a fire is the Wailers best, nothing compares to early Concrete Jungle, and 400 years....damn it gives me chills.

Dub Syndicate - Acres Of Space
Black Uhuru - Sensemilla
Black Uhuru - Chill Out

...enjoy, and tell me what you think

Hey dudes just thought id say that im working my way through the mailing lists and Im enjoying every second of it. But i thought id say i downloaded Lee Perrys set "I am the upsetter" a while back when Zion was questioning buying it. Its incredible and really displays a full range of Perrys ability, i love it. Also if you guys havent listened to much Max Romeo i HIGHLY encourage you to go out and download some. "Chase the Devil" has become an alltime reggae favorite of mine. Unfortunately I have very little of his music to listen to so if anybody has an album of his hook a rasta up! :thumb:

Peace everybody, Jah bless.

I forgot how good the Dub Syndicate CD was. So now I'm listening to it Ad Nauseum. Zion Gates, you're really doing all of us a big favor. Thanks a ton.

Does anyone here like the Cimarons? I heard one of their songs on a Trojan compilation, ('Utopian Feeling') and it is killer. I was wondering if the rest of their material was at all like that.

Oh, and, pssst... everyone should check out the new Ten Foot Ganja Plant CD. I'll do my damnedest to upload it, even though my computer is really god-awful.

Awsome! I've been looking for that Dillinger album for a long time. I haven't listened to any reggae in a while, so this should be good.

sweboy 12-22-2005 08:05 PM

So I checked out Matisyahu. I always just assumed that he was another bland jamaican dancehall MC, but my friend told me about him the other day, so I checked him out. He sounds pretty fresh.

Daniel! 12-22-2005 08:25 PM

I tried giving Matisyahu a listen but I didn't like him very much.

Zion Gates 12-22-2005 08:35 PM

Here's a christmas present, to the reggae thread, from the Sweboy! It's a early as hell recording of Bob Marley and the Wailers doing a ska-ified White Christmas.

Enjoy: hxxp://s54.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3I338I5KRP4TP0JA4N6QGTNLMM
