CoF is my favorite band. Dani's vocals are nearly impossible to match (I've been trying for the past year). Almost got it :thumb: eventually i will start a cover band. that is if more people actually appreciated them around here
you'd better not last around here, O thief of my normal username :p

punk&metal_fan 08-20-2005 05:29 AM

you people who dislike dani's voice are insane...hes ruining his vocal chords for us....the least you can do is enjoy it while it lasts.....hes amazing as a vocalist and songwriter....my opinion on you people who dislike his voice is you must like metallica or G'n'R

Shaft! 08-20-2005 07:34 AM

I recently downloaded "Nymphetamine" and the only reason I did was because of that woman's voice. It sort of got me hooked on the song when I first heard it.
I don't care if Dani is ruining his vocal chords for us, if you don't like it, you don't like it.
I've heard that he actually has a very nice singing voice when he stops growling. He simply uses it to compliment his music. I don't have a problem with that, but his voice really doesn't make me want to listen to much more of their stuff.

Shadows 08-20-2005 08:40 AM

Dani is most definitly not ruining his vocal chords.

And I wouldn't know about the singing voice since...I've never heard him sing.

Shaft! 08-20-2005 08:46 AM

Neither have I, I've simply read on certain sites that he does have a nice choir voice. I believe it was on IMDb.
I've only heard "Nymphetamine", though. I was sort of dissappointed that the guitarists didn't solo. That's it, though. I thought the song as a whole was pretty decent.

Shadows 08-20-2005 08:49 AM

The guitarists rarely solo. I would like it a lot more if they did because I love a good solo.

Lord Abortion 08-20-2005 08:55 AM

well, yes, I saw Dani live, and am going again in december and he is incredible live, he's also stopped smoking apparently so that may preserve his vocal chords for a while yet

When i hear bands that can cover COF, I'm amazed.

Sleeper 08-22-2005 12:54 AM

Has anyone uploaded anymore albums, i haven't been following the thread for a while.

When and if i record i shall send it to you then. Criticism is good.....unless it's bad.....

Lord Abortion 08-24-2005 02:02 AM

my band were going to cover her ghost, but never got round to it since we lack a keyboardist and it sounded wrong without one, the cover is put on hold until then

Voodoo Rabbit 08-24-2005 06:01 AM

'Damnation and a day' is a great album - I can't quite remember which my favourites songs are, but, 'Mannequin'(?) and 'Carrion' are very good....

Going to see them in December, at Glasgow!....

Mother_Of_Abominations 08-24-2005 06:08 AM

I want to learn Gilded Cunt on guitar so bad, but mx doesn't have a tab for it. :upset:

Best song - Queen of Winter, Throned

Klander Brigade 08-24-2005 08:17 AM

I've never really had the honor to listen to them, but by judging a book by the cover, I laugh at them. I'm just not into their whole type of music.

King_Karl 08-25-2005 08:42 AM

Has anyone heard their cover of Maidens 'Fear Of The Dark'? It's pretty brilliant.

Trivium 08-25-2005 08:49 AM

put it on hold forever, keyboards suck

podbassist 08-25-2005 01:48 PM

The song that i really like by cradle of filth is nymphetamine i think that the woman singing adds a nice touch to it. The lyrics are sick too.

Huber 08-25-2005 01:49 PM

Yeah I've grown to like Nymphetamine a lot more. The album as a whole too.

All of Danni Filth's lyrics are amazing, one of the many things i like about COF.

Agreed. I think Dani is one of the best - if not the best - metal lyricists alive and touring today. If one were to take a little time to sit down and read some song lyrics I'm they'd agree despite whether or not they like the music.

Huber 08-25-2005 03:18 PM

Lyrics were one of the things that attracted me at first.

I Didn't like Nymphetamine alot, it just doesn't compare to there early albums :upset:. I hope they'll go back to there old stylings a little on the next CD.

graveworm did that cover, not cradle

http://www.cradleoffilth.com/cof/main_page_800x600.htm

to surmise:

Dave Pybus returns to the band on bass

James Macillroy leaves the band

Charles, who played bass on the last tour takes rythym guitar duties

no replacement for martin has yet been found, but the keyboard duties are done by the orchestrator that has worked with the band the last 2 albums

the DVD has artwork done for it and will be released soon under the title "peace through superiour firepower"- late october/november release date there
http://www.cradleoffilth.com/cof/dvd_cover.htm

recording is to soon be underway on the new album  , alot of writing for this has been already done...
sweet

There old songs seemed to be a little repetitive until there later albums, i like the new directon there taking.

Oh right well respect to Graveworm because that cover is jaw dropping. I'll try and check out Hallowed Be Thy Name. :)

Shadows 08-27-2005 11:05 AM

New album is in the works for these boys. :) I'm excited. I like the new song titles and Nymphetamine was excellent.
