I agree with all your intros, so I won't even list them.

I think Revolution was just viewed as one of the more accessible tracks on the album.

Lochness for a single!

dUSK 04-27-2005 06:51 PM

/bumpage from the 11th page.

I'm wondering whether the new album is worth the $27 i probably shouldn't spend. I really like the old Priest stuff, and can't d'load anything new, so I want to know whether I should splurge or not?

Thanks.

Riva 04-28-2005 12:16 AM

Hey Greg, do you want me to upload a track or two from Angel Of Retribution and email it to you?

And yes, it is definitely worth a buy. Well, coming from a Priest head like me, it is. :)

dUSK 04-28-2005 01:34 AM

Thanks for the offer, but I no longer download anything. period. I get charged way too much by UQ for that and I may as well just invest in the album anyway. You also have good taste, so I'll take your word for it. :p

Deth 04-28-2005 07:09 AM

'Tis an excellent album. Spluge!

ThrashMaster27 04-28-2005 07:39 AM

Nice Transformer. Anyway, the new album is good, but it's not great. It's pretty much Painkiller mark 2 with a couple of dodgy songs.

Deth 04-28-2005 07:41 AM

But come on, Hellrider, Judas Rising, Lochness, Demonizer, Deal With The Devil and the other, less important tracks. Great album.

Thanks for the transformer compliment :).

ThrashMaster27 04-28-2005 07:45 AM

Hellrider and Deal With The Devil are worthy of going in the Priest top song Vault. It's kinda like Ram It Down for me. A lot of average songs, but a few amazing songs.

Deth 04-28-2005 07:46 AM

I don't have Ram it Down, so I can't comment. It's a rocking song though.

ThrashMaster27 04-28-2005 07:48 AM

Oh yeah, The alternating leads in Ram It Down are amazing. Possibly the best Priest solo piece. I wouldn't recommend getting Ram It Down unless you can pick it up nice and cheap.

Deth 04-28-2005 07:50 AM

I'm getting Metalogy once the old Birthday rolls around so I don't have to worry. It's a good warm up to the show.

ThrashMaster27 04-28-2005 07:53 AM

Bastard. That's all I can say on the matter. Why Priest haven't come to Australia is beyond me. It's these times I wish I was back in good old Blighty.

Deth 04-28-2005 07:55 AM

No Australia? I feel for you, I really do.

Timidus 04-28-2005 10:04 AM

I was pissed when I just recently found out that Judas Priest had been to The Netherlands in 2004 for Arrow Classic Rock Festival. And this year we get all kinds of weak crap, and no Priest....:(

heavymetalrules4eva 04-28-2005 12:26 PM

Priest rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone hear of iced earth?????? they rule!!!!!! Rippers with them now

Riva 04-29-2005 12:11 AM

I got Ram It Down for 10 bucks at Sanity. :D

However, it cost me 30 for Angel Of Retribution. :-/

ThrashMaster27 04-29-2005 12:20 AM

Same with me, apart from I got it from JB Hi-Fi. Angel of Retribution only cost me $21, but I didn't get the DVD version, so I wasn't too happy. So, does anybody know the story behind the suicide story involving Priest. I know it had something to to with Stained Class, but I'm not up on the whole thing.

NP: Judas Priest - Dissadent Aggressor

Riva 04-29-2005 01:39 AM

I think it was just some guy leaving the lyrics to Better By You, Better Than Me in his suicide note. Of course, that automatically means Judas Priest were sent by the devil to convince teenagers to take their own lives.

ThrashMaster27 04-29-2005 01:51 AM

Yeah, I was reading about things like that in the newspaper. Charles Manson, Richard Ramirez and a lot of suicides. I dunno, it's weird how people take things so literally. I just read the Stained Class inlay and the song in question was Stained Class. Says it was two young men in Nevada, one survived and the other had horrific injuries.

Deth 04-30-2005 12:10 PM

I like Rob's reply to that.(Not word for word)

"They said we put "Do It" in the song. Do what? It could be anything, mow the lawn, do your homework."

God bless Halford.

 I can't believe that they thought it was subliminal messages though

NP:Loch Ness

Deth 04-30-2005 12:16 PM

Yeah, it's pretty stupid when you think about it. Luckily the Judge wasn't an idiot and saw that it was a coincidence.

Steerpike 04-30-2005 12:31 PM

The ironic thing is that if you actually read Judas Priest's lyrics, they have several songs which are about fighting for what you believe in. As I've said before, they have an attitude of, "Life sucks, so I'm going to kick it's *** until it starts playing by my rules."

Deth 04-30-2005 12:33 PM

They are a very optimistic band (barring Stained Class) and while there lyrics are sometimes cliche, I like them just the same.

derek47 04-30-2005 08:49 PM

on the whole "invented speed metal thing", i don't really beleive anyone anymore when they say stuff llike that (korn claims to have revolutionized rock and roll-hell, maybe they did). I figure that you play what feels right, and let the industry call it what they want.
Anyhow, I think its safe to say that a)Rob Halford is pretty ugly b)they ALWAYS look ****ING AWESOME c) its a shame that they kicked ol' robbo out for being gay (where's the love?) and d) Rob Halford is an extremely talented/dedicated vocalist

Right, are you up to speed on the music industry?

Also, they didn't invent Speed Metal, but they did bring it out of it's infancy.

Steerpike 04-30-2005 09:27 PM
c) its a shame that they kicked ol' robbo out for being gay (where's the love?)
Who told you this? And where do they live so I can firebomb their house?

ThrashMaster27 04-30-2005 10:25 PM

Yeah, I was gonna say, if they kicked him out for being gay I doubt he would have returned somehow.

Riva 04-30-2005 10:49 PM

I just realised, I have as many Judas Priest albums as I do Iron Maiden. Only Metallica and Pink Floyd are more numerous in my collection.

I only have the "British Steel" Album.

Misc. Commentary:
Do you think this sentence said by Halford is true?:

"America maybe create rock n' roll, but england create heavy metal'
