Hell yeah!

The JoZ 01-19-2005 06:54 PM

Shit, I'd love to see them come to Va Beach.

Hell, even DC!

If they come within 4 hours or so of here, I think I'm going to have to go.

Yeah, thats my deal with all good shows. Usually theres a show within 2 hours but for DT I'd go the extra mile if I had to.

I did. That's by far their best album.

MAthiAS 01-19-2005 07:58 PM

*voted for Awake*

Personally I say Awake is their second best album, and Images and Words is their best.

Hopefully they will. I wish they would come where I live but the chances of that are slim to none though. Maybe I'll be able to catch them in Toronto or something.

demon_LLAMA 01-21-2005 01:31 AM

What do you guys think of their' latest DVD 'Live in Budokan' (or whatever)?

I've been trying to get hold of a PAL version of it for a while now, no success so far.

MAthiAS 01-21-2005 04:09 PM

I've only heard the audio of As I Am. Sounds exactly the same as on the album, which is awesome in its own right.

Quebec 01-21-2005 06:37 PM

anyone heard the audio commentary on the "5 year in a LIVEtime"? They are pretty funny! Expecially during "cover my eyes" when John Petrucci tells us his bad luck with candles... Anyone heard it?

willis2441 01-23-2005 09:31 PM

i just heard the song "lie" from dream theater and it sucked worse than my mom when she was 18. please tell me there are better songs from them because i would hate to hate them.

Already reported.

Can anyone suggest to me what would probably be the easiest DT song to begin learning. I've always kind of steered away from Petrucci's stuff because he is so technical, but I think it's about time I had a go at it.

Hey Theater fans. I have a question about what album to get next. I have ToT, SFAM, and Images and Words. What next?

i am a huge DT fan. i have every thing they have released (except the live cds). they are one of my favourite bands. as far as favourite albums, here is my list in order from best to worst (not including live albums).
1) I&A
2) Awake
3) Scenes from a memory
4) Train of Thought
5) Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance
6) A Change of Seasons
7) When a Dream and Day Unite
8) Falling Into Infinity

tht list was pointless, but im bored. either way, DT are an amzing band live (both in person and on DVD).

Yeah, I'd go:
1. I and W
2. Awake
3. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
4. Scenes from a Memory
5. A Change of Seasons (Would be higher, but its just one song)
6. When Dream And Day Unite
7. Train of Thought
8. Falling into Infinity

I bet if WDADU had Labrie, it'd be number 3.

Quebec 01-26-2005 05:49 PM

My list:

1)Six degrees of inner turbulence
2)Awake
3)Scenes from a memory
4)Train of thought
5)A change of season (EP)
6)Images and words
7)when dream and day unite
8)falling into infinity

p.s. I didn't heard the full version of number 6/7/8.

Quebec 01-26-2005 07:02 PM

Does anyone here owns the Train of thought transcription book? Considering I liked the album and that I'm getting good at guitar, I'm thinking about buying it but I don't know if there's a lot of mistake and things like that.

^Dream~Theater^ 01-26-2005 07:11 PM

No need to buy it. Go on the DT website and look up the fans transcriptions, they all seem accurate when i play them.
