i just spent 5 hours remixing and mastering a tactus a instrumental
lol pro audio is a smashed waveform |
sounds badass.
|
the original tactus a stuff is so amateur im trying to remedy that
terrible quiet, poorly balanced mixes, way too many mids - ear piercing vocals trying to remedy that with new stuff with new mastering/mixing programs and techniques jordan taught me |
I've been buying a lot of vinyls lately.
If only my record player wasn't broken. |
I've never bought a vinyl for the simple fact that I don't own a record player.

My player was working for a bit, but then it died. It was my mom's, anyway. But I've got a decent collection slowly starting of my own, plus the stuff from her, so I'm going to buy a decent system in a little bit. I'll wait until after graduation, in case my aunt and uncle decide to get me one. /fingers crossed |

/fingers crossed
Make sure to forcefully mention it to them... with your fists. |
So, uh, I may or may not have downloaded Reason... and if I did download said program, the only problem is that it's in .iso and I really don't wanna have to buy a blank DVD to have to run it...
So, uh, how would someone do this? (theoretically of course...) |

Toast Titanium is always effective.
So I've heard. |
I just ordered another album. >_>
I don't normally order like this, but I got my tax return today ($830), so I'm spending a bit of it and banking the rest. |
that's what i'm gonna do when mine gets here.
mmmmm.... super slinkys on my 5. sooo sweet. |

Oh man. The new Mars Volta album seems like it'll be out in June. I can't wait.
|
i've never really been able to get into them, although i really haven't heard that much. what i have heard seems very spacey, almost empty... but that's only been from a couple songs.
|

0_0
Lucky bastard. That'll be a good show. |

Check out Bedlam In Goliath (their latest album) if you want, it's not really like that... at all. Some of their stuff can be like that, but it's usually just certain parts in certain songs. |

0_0
I don't know Street Sweeper. Jane's Addiction is decent, they'd probably put on a fun show. I couldn't really care about seeing NIN anymore... I don't what hell Trent has been thinking lately. Luckily, I saw them when they toured for The Fragile, which was amazing. |
Ghosts I-IV was incredible.

People need to give up on vinyl. I get it, it's trendy. It's also been obsolete for decades. |
Ghosts I-IV was incredible.
I haven't listened to it/them, actually. Maybe I should. Lately, my favorite band has become this band Brainiac that I've been repping nonstop. Trent said he used one of their albums as a sound reference while he was writing and recording With Teeth. All I'll say is that if that's what he was going for, he failed miserably. Maybe I'd need to listen to that album again, but I don't recall anything sounding Brainiac influenced... it was just crap. |
why do they need to give up on vinyl

That's why vinyls are still being widely produced, amirite? But okay. I'll stop being trendy now, and actually buying music for once. |

Year Zero was pretty good, though, Ghosts was excellent. The Slip was pretty meh, but had a few good songs on it. I agree that The Fragile is the best, though. |
Yeah.. I just kind of gave up after With Teeth. I've heard only singles from any albums after it. The Fragile was just the climax of that band, that was the best Trent had, and it was incredible. There was no way he could follow it. Tool had the same sort of problem after Lateralus, but managed to follow it up very well with 10,000 Days. Trent took six years and put out With Teeth. I was pissed and stopped caring.
That's why vinyls are still being widely produced, amirite?
But okay. I'll stop being trendy now, and actually buying music for once.
Cassette, CD, and mp3 etc were developed as improvements over vinyl. And you know there are far superior ways to support artists than buying their albums. |
thats why no wants 1968 chevelles anymore right? cause they're obsolete? shut up. technology is not always the answer.
|
technology is not always the answer.
No, it's not. But in this case I think it is. |
Cassette, CD, and mp3 etc were developed as improvements over vinyl.
And you know there are far superior ways to support artists than buying their albums.
And by improvements, you mean smaller, more portable, easier-to-produce... not necessarily better. I am not going to say that vinyl sounds better, because I don't necessarily think it does. I enjoy the aesthetic of the big sleeves and the big vinyls, and being able to look at all of the artwork. You actually have to listen to it, because you can't just go skipping through tracks. It more actively engages the listener (unless you're just putting it on in the background, but that's no different from anything else). Plus tons of new releases get sent out with a free mp3 download, as well, or a CD in some cases. How else would you suggest I support artists that I like when they don't tour here, and I don't buy merchandise? 90% of what I listen to I have to order online anyway, if I want a physical copy of it, so I figure why not get vinyls? I like them, and they're clearly still selling well. Preference =/= trend. |
