Why?
School is pointless. I should have dropped out in the 9th grade and home schooled myself, because I would be a hell of a lot more intelligent than I am now. There is no way in hell I'm letting my kids go to public schools. |

You'll wish you were broke an back in school again with a social life |
And what do you do, exactly?
I don't particularly have a social life now, so that worry is out of my mind. I'm not worried about joining the work force now because I've got 5 years of college in my path and Mommy and Daddy aren't dead yet. |

And eh... School is for education, not social life. That was the point of it in the first place, was it not? If you want to socialize, go to the mall or something. School hours could be shorter, classes more productive, and kids less stressed out if we cut down on the social things of school. |
Say that when you are out for a few years. And all your friends are gone. I do belive the stress, is a part of life. So if you wern't stressed with work in school, what would one do once they got out of school and went to work.. Ummm go nutz. And school is for socializing. It is part of an education, you haveto be able to communicate in a humane matter do you not? If school was so wrong, it wouldn't be done. Not only that, your parents pay for it

I am so god damn sick of hearing that!
Everyone I hear it from is a sorry old fuck working a factory job and wondering where they went wrong. It's their fault for where they are. If they've got a shitty job, it's their fault for not finding something better. I'm not going to get one of those jobs. I'm going to have a fancy New York State education. I'm going to graduate from college. I'm going to work at a job I enjoy. And if I don't, I'm going to blame myself for being such an idiot. I'm not going to tell my kids to enjoy school while they have it because the rest of their life sucks. I'm going to encourage them to do better than I did. If school was so wrong, it wouldn't be done. Hmmmm...well, rape is wrong, but it's done every day. So is depriving a countries citizens of their basic needs and rights so some beaner can illegally live life to the fullest, but it's still done. A lot of things that are wrong are still done. It doesn't matter to anyone but those who are getting fucked. Have you ever sat down and looked at public education? It's awful. You sit in there to learn a bunch of facts to pass a test that old crotches in Albany thought up. You don't learn the truth. Text books are just packed with false information it's not even funny. Basically, they're just vague outlines of what you should know with no back ground information or anything to bring you to a higher level of intelligence. You don't have the freedom to study what you want. You can't standardize education. It doesn't work And...HUMANE INTERACTION?! Set foot into a fucking highschool. It's caked with social hierarchies based off of how awful you can be towards your peers. Cliques and reputations are the only thing kids are thinking about, and it's allowed. It's encouraged. |

But you started at an akward age.
You had already been exposed to public school and how lazy it is. My children aren't going to school at all. Period. |
at least a quarter of my old high school m8s are at walmart. i find it hilarious
|
You got to let your kids go to school to devlop social skills
|
Not really.
There are other resources of social interaction than school. Play groups, swimming classes, sports, day camps... There are groups for homeschooled children that meet, too. It's not so hard. |
yeah, whether we like it or not, public school does help the social thing.
to public school in japan! or anywhere else in europe! |
I meant I dropped out. I was in the system for 10 or 11 years but only went 8.
I still managed to get a diploma and 4 ASE certs though ¬_¬
I dropped out after 12 years :( out of the 19 i planned to do. |

Ok first of all, calm down, no need to get all freaked out, and second of all I belive you missed my point when I said if it was wrong it wouldn't be done. If it was so wrong, then the world wouldn't work. If people wern't getting their education at public schools what do you think would happen? I'll let u use ur imagination. there is a tad bit of a difference between going to school and getting raped. I get ur point, and what u were trying to say. But u missed mine. If school was left up to the parents to deal with, kids would never do anything, or parents wouldn't get to work. Besides parents need to get away from their kids for a while, when u have them, u'll know. With no school, it just wouldn't work. Think about it just a little bit. But you said you have no choice in what you want to do in education? And it has no back ground information or anything to bring you to a higher level of intelligence.. I belive high school is the backbone of your knowledge.. Then when your mature enough to make decisions, you choose your further education such as college, university, or labour worker, entrepeneur.. whatever |

It's insanely boring. |
oh dear
http://www.myspace.com/blackmattertheband my new band they cannot write riffs, or spell. but hey, i need something to do over the summer... alkl the drums are currently midi, cos i joined 2 days ago and am making stuff up atm |
My god!
Just because I'm homeschooling them doesn't mean I'm going to lock them away in little boxes until they're 25!! I'm not going to sit there, breathing down their necks every waking hour. If anything, they will be more part of the family than traditionally schooled children, and thats a very good thing. How often are kids alienated from their parents and turned away by their siblings? Very often. In a homeschooling situation, the interaction between the family is there, and that will lead to the child having a very sturdy family relationship. And when is that not a good thing? There are a lot of homeschooled children, and the families who have them oraganize cooperative learning programs so that their kids can have school aged friends. Also, having them involved in extra curricular programs is going to give them a lot of social interaction. They're going to develop normally. Them going to college isn't going to be some massive shock. It isn't like I'm going to inform them of other people their first day of university. It isn't like their going to be exposed to death and drinking and parties for the first time. They'll go to the parties, they'll experience a normal college life. They'll excell in college because of their back ground education. That's what I want. |
Ok yeah... I'm very ultra glad my parents just put me through regular school.. I'm gunna be an electrician, make $50 000 a year, and be totally happy with it, but I will never regret school
|
$50,000?
Geez. My parents make $60,000 each screwing car parts together. |
$50,000?
Geez. My parents make $60,000 each screwing car parts together.
Thats not much for a mechanic.... I was making over that my first 2 years. EDIT: Or do you mean they work at the factory? |
Not mechanics.
They assemble engines for GM. |
Yeah, I am not sure exactly what an electrician makes, that's just what I expect. And I don't care, because it's something I want to do. And also, $50 000 is a decent living.. Canadian... And the wife will be a chef anyway makin hopefully $100 000 a year ish....
|
Thats about what my uncle makes
He builds the seats on a line for ford |

I like those gigantic rabbits, i've seen some at the fair that were the size of a bulldog! |
I got attacked by one of those big mofos once.
I've still got a three inch scar on my forearm from it. Hmm... People who clean crime scenes start at $40k a year, but it said it will raise to about $80k in a few years time. I wonder if I should give it a go. |
