Swap that for Master Of Puppets and we gots ourselves a deal.
I like MoP too, but most overplayed Metallica songs are on there. Still very worthy album. And thank you jpj for sneaking me in ^_^ |
I just can't seem to get into Metal at all. Sometimes Danzig is fun to hear but that gets kind of old fast.
Edit: thickasabrick:
Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch hxxp://yousendit.digitekk.biz/download.php?id=7071
This is a very (very) good Free Jazz album. That has "Hat & Beard" too. Thanks you Woodstock. :) |
You have my approval.
And I foolishly thought I was the only Metallica fan in this thread. |
I guess my 5 favorite would be:
Live At Leeds White Album Bob Dylan- Live '75 Pink Floyd- Pulse George Harrison- ATMP Notice all are double albums. |
I bought SMiLE today! I haven't listened to it yet because I'm driving out to my cottage tonight and I wanna wait till then.
Has anyone here ever bought any Gold albums by a band/artist? Even if you aren't a fan of Greatest Hits albums you have to admit these are amazing. I have Cream's Gold and Bob Marleys Gold album and they are perfect. I'll admit that I prefer listening to actual albums, but these are a must-have. I bought the Bob Marley one today, and it has all the songs Legend has, and then about 20 more songs. It was cheaper than Legend was too. Same with the Cream one, they are both double albums with about 40 songs and they were only 12 bucks. |

If I like it, I'll buy it eventually. I feel like reminding everyone how perfect Blood on the Tracks is now. np- You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go. |
What does "hXc" mean?
What does "hXc" mean?
/off-topic
Hardcore. |
Aaaahh, thank you much. Very.

You don't need to remind me how perfect Blood on the Tracks is. I think it's second only to Blonde on Blonde, but I probably listen to it twice as often as Blonde on Blonde. I think Bob Dylan can write the best "love" songs out of any artist, even though most people only recognize him for his more virtuous lyrics (if you know what I mean). I couldn't even listen to Blood on the Tracks for a few months after I broke up with my girlfriend a couple years ago, that damn album kept making me cry. I know that makes me sound like a pussy, but I'm not trying to be a he-man or anything.
edit- you can't say pussy? |
I think Blood on the Tracks is the best songwriting cd ever. Every song is perfect IMO. It is a pretty depressing album for the most part, but for some reason Tangled Up in Blue always puts me in a great mood.

Yeah that's how I feel. All the songs are great. Meet Me in the Morning doesn't really fit solidly in with the rest of the songs, but I'm not saying it isn't an amazing song. Maybe just because it isn't blatently about lost love and all that stuff. I'm going out to my cottage though. See ya guys later. |
You guys don't know me much but I'm a big fan of all Classic Rock, so here's my top 5 albums with a couple honourable mentions!
1. Led Zeppelin II 2. The Who - Who's Next 3. Cream - Wheels of Fire 4. Led Zeppelin IV 5. Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced? HM: Led Zep - Houses of the Holy, The Doors - The Doors, The Who - Tommy, Millencolin - Same Old Tunes (probably the only pop punk band I actually like, in fact adore)
Led Zeppelin 2 and 4 are both great. I'm not a huge fan of theirs but i'd say 2 is a better album. It's my favourite album of theirs. However 4 has Stairway to heaven, on of the best songs ever. Who's Next I don't have but I have heard song off it. Behind Blue eyes and Won't Get Fooled again are classics. I love cream - clapton is god, as they say. Hendrix is even better - and that could b ehis best album. The doors first album is great with some of their best songs. Millencolin I absolutely love - I may be going to see them live soon. Pennybridge Pioneers is my favourite I havent heard same old tunes. |
I like AYE better than Electric Ladyland, because as someone said, it sounds a little more raw. That and Mitch Mitchell is a tank.
My unofficial top five: Tommy (it just barely beat Who's Next) Abbey Road Music from Big Pink (it's new, but it's already found a place in my heart) CSN s/t (again, just barely over Deja Vu) Now, as the unexpected underdog...let's say... The Rod Stewart Album MfBP is on there because it's stuck in my head, and Rod Stewart was the first thing I saw when I opened the record cabinet, so there you go. |

Electric Ladyland has better guitar playing, no question about it. And in my opinion it has better songwritting in general. But I guess if you like that whole messy, live and guitar went out of tune sound, the Are You Experienced album would be better.

^Yea, I noticed you uploaded wma's, you dirtbag.
"The Man in Me" is the best Dylan song. A variety of Big Lebowski fans would agree. |
^Yea, I noticed you uploaded wma's, you dirtbag.
Why is that so bad? |
It's all 'bout MP3, I use Itunes, not WMP.
*raises the roof* :p |
i use itunes, but with m4a's usually.
|
itunes is gay along with everything else Apple makes.
WinAmp is where it's at. |

*raises the roof* :p
You can import WMA's into iTunes, you know that right? :p Edit: Beaten by Brunch :upset: |
It takes time for me to convert them. Which is one reason I dislike them.
