Low line junk. Like ZBT's, etc

Bring your own kit and cymbals.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 12:28 PM

Evening y'all.

Josiah 09-29-2006 12:30 PM

You always say that when it's morning.....

Sync0pation 09-29-2006 12:52 PM

Okay thanks, I will. He was boasting to me like "they're brand new and shining etc"

thats because i live in england, and here, it's evening.

We had rubgy today. The pitch was a mess because it rained yesterday, last night, and today. ultimate sludge pit.

Good fun :thumb:

Josiah 09-29-2006 01:46 PM

That's the best!

I loved playing.. oh it's football for you guys... football in the mud/rain.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 01:56 PM

hah. our pitch is split into two levels at school.

On the top there are 2 full rugby pitches, and on the bottom, there are two full football pitches. Problem is, the bottom pitch has really bad drainage problems, so it becomes a bog during autumn and winter.

and thats when we can choose to play football. So we basically play football in a bog at school. you can jump on any bit of the pitch and about a litre of water will just spray everywhere.

Josiah 09-29-2006 02:00 PM

Oooh now THAT is awesome!

Haha I remember having to get sprayed off with a hose before we could leave the fields it'd be so pad.

ahh good times good times.

..now i just play drums :(

maniac0796 09-29-2006 02:05 PM

Aww

Is your IC lever glide Hhat stand any good? I'm thinking of buying one, and you're the only person i know with one.

Win A Rabbit 09-29-2006 02:06 PM

At the highschool here, for some reason they built an "American Football" field in an area that's basically a 1.5 foot deep pool. It fills up with water every spring for about a month and after a couple weeks it just starts smelling so bad.

Drum Phil 09-29-2006 02:07 PM

My drummer has one and its not bad. He never opens his hats far enough to warrant him owning it though.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 02:08 PM

Cool

In other news, i've just received word that my music shop has a joey jordinson sig kit on display.

I feel really really sorry for the drum guy who pearl forced to buy that kit.

Drum Phil 09-29-2006 02:13 PM

My local shop has one too.

Yes. It's an excellent stand. Rock solid, adjustable as can be and swivel legs!

I prefer the Lever Glide because, just like an accelerated cam on a kick pedal, I get more throw out of hte hats for less foot movement. For someone like me, I use a ton of hat w/foot stuff in my playing. So having that extra throw, or less movement nessicary wichever you want to think of, is great. One could say it's "more sensitive" as well because of the lever action.

Win A Rabbit 09-29-2006 02:20 PM

Oooohh, I just remembered. I'm gonna go to the high school monday and buy that acrolite from my band teacher. About how much do you think he'd sell an acrolite that hasn't been used in 5+ years for? No heads or anything, just the shell and hardware.

Josiah 09-29-2006 02:23 PM

$50 tops.

You can get them in great condition ready to go off ebay for 80-110.

Awesome snares though. Deffinetly one of the all time best buys.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 02:24 PM

Is the velo glide the one with the chain, and the lever glide the one with the strap/weird mechanism?

Janeway 09-29-2006 02:25 PM

Wow. Today went really well...

I wasn't expecting that at all. I got complimented on my excellent essay on pedestrian safety by the english teacher that absolutely hates me, and I also got complimented by not only the instructor, but a group of other saxophonists for my Fasch Sonata that I was playing.

Hoorah.

Win A Rabbit 09-29-2006 02:26 PM

Yeah I borrowed it back in the day when my band was recording due to wanting 2 different snare drums, and I loved it. I went a couple times to ask him how much he'd sell it for, and he was going to give it to me dirt cheap, but me and him didn't have a clue what the model was. So I finally found out and told him, and he told me he'd figure out a price. I went the last day of last year (my last day in school) and he still didn't know, but he told me to come next school year and we'd figure something out on the spot. I'm only going to bring $50 or so in my wallet, in hopes that if he does ask for something higher, I'll tell him to take it or leave it.

Ya. The velo is a direct pull system.

So the other day my girl goes and picks up one of my pads, grabs a pair of marching sticks and starts cycling between a double stroke roll and singles... wtf?

Never played or tried, just always watched me.

raz0r 09-29-2006 03:39 PM

Man, Gene Hoglan really shreds on SYL's latest album.

Anyone who hasn't heard the song Almost Again should listen to it now.
It's beyond awesome.

We_Love_Lime 09-29-2006 03:43 PM

Dude.
Have you guys ever conducted a band class?

Sunshine 09-29-2006 04:01 PM

Whoo.

I just made a lunch [couscous] for the homeless guy who sits in front of Walmart.

I wonder if he'll like it. He would've prefered pot, but I don't smoke and don't feel like buying some off my friends.

Sync0pation 09-29-2006 04:02 PM

Nice.

The terminator came to our house, saw my drumset and said he used to play drums. His fav drummers were Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. I told him to play something on my set but he said he was too old.

We_Love_Lime 09-29-2006 04:05 PM

COUSCOUS!

Yeah son.

Sunshine 09-29-2006 04:06 PM

With raisins, pinoli nuts and freshly chopped garlic <3

Cocaberry 09-29-2006 04:09 PM

Goddamn homeless people need to get off their lazy asses and get jobs.

Sunshine 09-29-2006 04:10 PM

Ehh, I guess so.

But it's hard to get a job when you don't have a house or remotely presentable clothing.

We_Love_Lime 09-29-2006 04:12 PM

when I'm older I'm going to be homeless.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 04:13 PM

Really Lime?

Sunshine 09-29-2006 04:13 PM

I knew a guy who wanted to be a bum when he grew up.

No idea what happened to him.

We_Love_Lime 09-29-2006 04:22 PM
Really Lime?
Reallly Really son.
I'mma go to college, get a degree in Maths, History, or Music or something of the sort.

But like hell am I going to do something I don't wanna do.
I'mma lead a simple lifestyle.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 04:24 PM

Get a degree in art and then you can have an excuse for being homeless.

I'm going to be a hermit and live in the woods in a wooden shack on the massive hill across the river from my house. pics to come soon, because it's pitch black and it's raining like theres no tommorow

Loser 09-29-2006 04:25 PM

Being a bum actually wouldn't be that bad, especially if you lived in a decent climate.

maniac0796 09-29-2006 04:30 PM

If you live in a country like UK, you probably earn more from benifits than a person on the minimum wage would....

God damn government giving my money to homeless and old people, when we get nothing in return!

Aside from the satisfactin of knowing you've helped someone in need. But who would want that, honestly?

Win A Rabbit 09-29-2006 05:57 PM

A guy at my dad's work went and played guitar outside of the coliseum one night before a hockey game, he made $110 in an hour. He didn't even have a jar or hat out asking for money, he just played. One drunk guy and his friends got him to play and sing the Juicy Fruit song, he paid $20 for it.

I'm totally gonna be a guitar-playing bum. That's where it's at.
