I was just listening to last lights two days ago thinking "****, these guys need to come up to Canada".

Feel so bad for his friends/band/family.

Its such a weird feeling having someone in a band you really like just randomly pass away like that, I remember being in like grade 7 when Dimebag got shot, and as much as people joke about it, it's so surreal listening to the music afterwards and remembering how you found out when you heard about it.

I don't know that band, but that's terrible. Especially a brain aneurysm, since there's really no way to see that coming.

intense band. it sucks bad that he died. though I never really exchanged more than some few words with him over MySpace, he seemed like a really good guy. and from what I hear, he was the nicest bloke in the world. such a shame. so young. so talented.

it's real weird for me when stuff like this happens. like, when someone I don't really know in person - but I still *know* - goes away. it's not like I was Dom's best friend, but I still feel like I connected with him through his music. just like I must admit I was somewhat sad when Heath Ledger died (terrible comparison), though the only relation I had to him was through his work as a (brilliant) actor.

and btw ScubaSteve, I remember that day. was all over the news. so sad. I mean what a mother ****er. going on stage and just firing at will. ridiculous. made me really upset.

Actually he had a degree in english and literature, and he was a poet aside from a musician, so I wouldn't doubt that he thought about his funeral in a serious manner before.
