Fixed.
Don't get me wrong, the best of Burzum blows the best of Mayhem out of the fucking water, but I think the worst of Burzum is waaay worse than the worst of Mayhem. Everything after Hvis Lyset Tar Oss was absolute shit. I guess Varg knows how to go to extremes. *shrug*
No, Varg has like, one horrible album (Daudi Baldrs) and everything else past Filosofem (which is pretty amazing fyi) is decent/mediocre. And his best songs/albums are way better than Mayhems shit. |
only good release
That's what I've read but what is wrong with his other stuff? |
it sucks?
|
Haha, alright. I thought there was some specific reason people all hated it like, he changed some aspects to the music.

I don't get why most people don't really like anything after "DMDS". IMO "Chimera" and "Ordo Ad Chao" were both stellar releases. "Wolf's Lair" was alright and "AGDOW" is a fucking embarrassment to the band. I could never really get way into Burzum like some of you and I've been listening to both bands for years. Matter of preference I suppose. |
just noticed burzums m archives page is no 88

New Altar of Plagues is finally out. Can't wait to listen to it.
New Primordial is also on the internet. Strange I never saw a pre-order for the new Altar of Plagues, btw. I want to get the Profound Lore release, because that one has all the lyrics. |
Listening to Sardonic Wrath.
I think this is my favorite Darkthrone album. I listen to it more than any of the earlier albums, and it was before they went all punx rox on us. |
My favourite from that period is probably Hate Them.

Fucked Up and Ready to Die rules

gotta say i havent heard a darkthrone album from any period of theirs that i didnt like

Idk, I like them both.
The new AoP has a really cool production and I like the tracks a lot (especially Feather and Bone), although When the Sun Drowns in the Ocean drags on a bit too much. The new Primordial is a really solid album, although the first half seems more memorable to me. |
Only track that's half decent on Mammal is the first one, the rest are either boring as hell or you get a track like When the Sun Drowns in the Ocean which really has no purpose.
|
Idk, to each their own, I guess. I like the album.
|
I'm happy with the new Primordial though, really love "The Mouth of Judas".
|

Speaking of Primordial, has anyone heard Blood Revolt?
It's like Revenge, but with the guy from Primordial on vocals. |
am i the only one that thinks hawkwind are the forerunners to black metal?
|
yes
|
anyone checked out verwustung? shoegazey black metal that isn't absolutely horrible
|
shoegazey black metal
This kind of puts me off already. |
it shouldn't, they have a much more black metal aesthetic than most other bands of that sort.
|
I'll check them out eventually.
There are some shoegaze black metal bands I like, and I admit, it's a catchy formula. It's just that I've kind of grown tired of that stuff. Most of those bands sound almost exactly the same. |
