Magicbus doesn't even listen to the Allman Brothers. He's an uncivilized cretin.
When my dad had a few of his friends over for our christmas party the other night, he was showing them a bunch of the music dvd's we had on our new surround sound and I actually sat through the Allman Brothers songs. I didn't really find them interesting though. :/

NP: Cream - Sleepy Time Time

Speaking of broken music players, I dropped my Zen touch and now the buttons don't work. It's pretty pathetc

What's everyone's favorite Zappa Album?

I think mine is Apostrophie or Hot Rats

1. Waka/Jawaka
2. Apostrophe
3. Hot Rats
4. The Grand Wazoo

Those are my top Zappa albums.

NP: Cream - Toad

Badmoon 12-21-2005 11:23 AM

I don't really listen to Zappa at all anymore. I'm really annoyed at him as a person, not really his music though.

1. Cheap Thrills (It's a compilation, but it holds up better than anything else I've heard from him)
2. Hot Rats
3. Apostrophe
4. Over-Nite Sensation
5. We're only in it for the Money

what music dvd do you have with the allmans on it?

my friends all hated apocalypse now. they complained that it was too long. i have yet to see it actually.

badmoon, is it because he hated hippies?

Badmoon 12-21-2005 11:37 AM
badmoon, is it because he hated hippies?
No, he's annoyingly irreverant.

The Live at the Beacon Theatre one.

DeusExMachina 12-21-2005 11:49 AM

I've never seen Apocalypse Now. I should.

Hot Rats is awesome. But I don't listen to Zappa heavily much.

Woodstock 12-21-2005 12:11 PM

Zappa:

1. Hot Rats
2. We're Only in it for the Money
3. Grand Wazoo (it's great, Bus)
4. Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar
5. Joe's Garage

You are so WEIRD!

My favorite Zappa album...probably We're Only in it For the Money. I haven't listened to any Zappa at all recently, so I'm not entirely sure.

Badmoon 12-21-2005 12:24 PM
No inclusion of Freak Out?
It's on my "Overrated Albums" list. ;)

I'm actually listening to it now. It will probably take Joe's Garage's place soon.

Broken Arrow 12-21-2005 03:01 PM

I'd say

Hot Rats
Freak Out!
We're Only in it For the Money

Yeah, I dont have much Zappa.

I listened to "The End" yesterday right before I got into the barbers chair so he could take my hair.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-21-2005 03:54 PM

EightMilesHigh: cool avatar/usertitle combo

I'd say....

1. Freak Out!
2. We're Only in it For the Money
3. Hot Rats
4. Shut Up N' Play Yer Guitar (that one with nothing but solos)
5. n/a

I've bought a couple of his "funny" album too but needless to say I didn't think they were too "funny". I have the same problem as Moon, some of it's good music just the guy is annoying as hell. I think as a whole Zappa is pretty overrated though......

Lunch: I won't say that anymore but the way you said what you did was really disrespectful and extremly annoying. At the time I just felt that kind of reply was appropriate.

Why isn't the rep button working?
you mean thom yorke reminds you of jeff buckley. because jeff is so much sweeter.
I actualy like Thom Yorke's ghostly voice more. His vocals just have this night time, "out there" vibe that no-one can touch.

10 shots of gin is not very fun to wake up to the next morning. :-/

Am I the only person here who still has school? My winter break this year is so short. 1 week. Ridiculous.

I got kind of sick of Zappa and haven't listened to him in a really long time. I like his stuff but some of it just doesn't interest me.

I persuaded my parents to try to get Gilmour tickets. It was kind of hard because neither of them like Pink Floyd and didn't see the point of seeing Gilmour without Floyd. I managed to persuade them that I desperately need tickets so I think there's a good chance I'll be going. They're rumors all over the place that it will turn into a Floyd reunion but I don't believe them. As much as I'd love to see Floyd, I'd be thrilled just to see Gilmour.

Broken Arrow 12-21-2005 05:11 PM

He coming to New York?

Yeah, my mom is determined to get tickets but they dont go on sale until the 14th.

1 week, oh my god, that's horrible. We get a solid two weeks, I know not the best but it isn't too shabby either.

PinkFreud 12-21-2005 05:21 PM

schyma, rep is disabled now for one reason or another. neither of which i know.

and jeff buckley's still better than thom yorke. i cant stand radiohead.

my girlfriend just got me a flask set for christmas. its sweet but my parents hate it. haha.

JonG 12-21-2005 06:36 PM

I still have school, too, so I feel your pain. :-/ I get back on the 9th though, so I have 2 weeks.

Did anybody watch SNL last week? I went over to a kids house and he recorded that Narnia rap. Man, that's funny.

Mr. Pibb and Red Vines equals crazy delicious.

Broken Arrow 12-21-2005 08:38 PM

I only saw the Neil young performances.

I'm uploading that Hendrix thing right now.

I'm also listening to the album Comes a Time by Neil young right now. It's an album I have fully appreciated and its about time I do. Good spin on country and folk on this album.

I start working tomorrow.

Glitterati 12-21-2005 09:27 PM

Today would have been Zappa's birthday.

Dammit, why do all the cool people have to die? Lennon, Strummer, Harrison, Zappa, Hendrix....not fair

robo2448 12-21-2005 09:28 PM

Everyone vote George in the vocalist poll! He actually has a shot which surprises me. He's doing really well. Most of you probably already voted, but if you didn't go vote for George.

My vacation: last day this Friday, go back January 3rd. It blows.

Krabsworth 12-21-2005 09:30 PM

I voted for Morrison for I feel Harrison's voice was weak and strained-sounding.

Tomorrow night I'm going to email Alice Cooper at his radio show and get him to play some Frank Zappa.

JonG 12-21-2005 09:59 PM

Sent out The Grand Wazoo.

Broken Arrow 12-21-2005 10:03 PM

Yesterday I made an Eric Clapton mix for my friend. I really like Eric Clapton.

NP: Derek and the Dominoes - Key To the Highway

Duane Allman is sweet too. Maybe I should listen to the Allman Bros...
