shouldn't of ended on sanitarium and shoud of played fade to black, but man, great performance. Did any body notice robs bass at the start. It looked like a fender P but with two jazz pups. and its a fours string, strange for rob, anyone know what it is?
|
If they played the whole MOP album how did they finish on Sanitarium
|
im talking about rock am ring they played tonight, they played fuel and creeping death, MoP, TTTSNB, FWTBT I think thats it, maybe one more...oh battery

That's not the whole set, its being broadcast live. They are doing the 2nd encore now, playing Seek and Destroy. |

Cool thing about playing all of MoP. Metallica should be pretty cool next time they come here.
Hmm, I'm in the mood. /goes to get Metallica album, not sure which. |
Master of Puppets!
Damnit, I missed it too. |
NP Blackened.
...AJFA it is  I think I'm going to listen to Master of Puppets and Kill 'em All as well afterwards... |
listening to MoP, at sanitarium at the moment...I'm resisting so hard not to pick up my bass and blast this tune out, the neighbours will be pissed...
|
The thing is...everytime I listen to some Metallica, I feel like going back and learning all the stuff I forgot, and want to learn some stuff I didn't learn before. But I get lazy, and never do this...
NP ...And Justice for All |
he'll handle it fine.
But, Lars and Damage Inc. should be errr...fun. muahahaha (hopes for a train wreck)
Haha, he actually nailed pretty much all of the songs pretty well. Stayed on time, in beat, played double bass parts where they were needed, **** he even played the double bass beats in Battery (the triplets which he would normally only play with one kick) He played TTTSNB pretty well, he played the double bass in Roam (even at the end which he usually doesn't play anymore) He nailed leper messiah. As for Damage Inc... he played it ALMOST flawlessly, he didn't play the tom/double bass bars though, although he DID play the double bass for the last part of the song which he hasn't done in awhile. |
James' beard has got big!!
And lars has curls. |
Listening to some mp3 of it right now, seems good enough.
wtf since did kirk abuse the wah pedal in Fade To Black. |
I'm sure the best stuff will be on YouTube by tomorrow.
well if the AIC video of would with James is already on youtube, i'm sure they will put the MOP by tomorrow. |

Man I want them to come around here sometime, like now. I'm really hoping their album comes out soon because then that means an American tour is following. |
At least you don't have confidence in him anymore :)
Well I still have confidence that he can write some interesting solos. It's just upsetting that some of his classics he can't really play well anymore. I want to have a duel. I know he's a better guitarist than me but I really feel it doesn't take much to play Fade to Black better than he does. |
Here, some stuff about Metallica playing the whole Master of Puppets, and a little thing by Kirk at the end about the new album.
They're planning an early 2007 release, hopefully 12 song album. Edit: Alternatively, similar article offering links to Video/Audio downloads. Enjoy. |
Holy crap, people on blabbermouth. In every previous article, like 80% of comments were about metallica selling out, sucking, loosing their touch, etc... and now it's about 80% positive. Or like 95% postitive. Damn. Very weird, can't wait to see this.
I'm downloading vid of that concert, can't wait to see and hear orion. |

amen. one of the few 'tallica solos i can actually play almost spot-on w/ the original recording. and i know this has been said, but he needs to find something other than that wah pedal. it's tone is horrible. or is it his guitar? and have i been missing something? is metallica on tour again? im not into them much anymore, but i'd still love to see em... |
Yea, they have a mini escape from the studio tour thingy.
http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/metallica/tours.jhtml Although they keep adding more and more dates to it, so it won't really be mini anymore. EDIT: Holy crap lars got a drum lesson or something? And James' voice is very different on ftb. It's more singing than his normal one. After damage inc, they started playing run to the hills, heh, wished they played the whole song. Orion was awesome. Not as good as original obviously, but still amazing. |
nice. when was this??
a couple days ago. |

nice. when was this?? he can still play it. it's just since '84 'tallica have leaned much more towards the use of the wah pedal with their slipping out of the thrashy trend.
ftb is Fade to Black. And he hasn't proven that he could play it since the Black Album days. He doesn't do Master of Puppets or any old non-wah songs with a wah now, why Fade to Black? However, that Fade to Black from the Rock AM show was amazing. It was a really good one, even though the solo was weak. |
James Hetfield had a completely different voice at times. It was alot softer on the ballads. It was a nice change. And seemed like lars was adding more drum fills in the beginning. Not sure if that's just cause all previous recordings I've seen sucked or what.
What was that little bass solo before Orion is that Rob's? |
