Guys, check out this Rock Am Ring 2006 clip of Hetfield singing with Alice In Chains. This was like 3 hours ago or so. His voice is pretty awesome.

Well, in any case, welcome to MX. Master of Puppets is a great album and definitely worth the money. My favorite is easily Ride the Lightning.

I'm hoping for a good cd next time. I'm hoping it's something I can listen too. For example, I listened to Reload all the way through yesterday and I wanted to do that. However, I don't want to listen to St. Anger. If it comes on I don't change it, but I don't usually listen to it voluntarily.

It's Cliff Burton, by the way. And yes, R.I.P.

wow thats was pretty good, James has a powerful voice, no way near Layne Staley, but still sounded good.

Edit: James sounds awesome, really.

Jev 06-02-2006 04:44 PM

At the start that didn't sound like Hetfield.

TBH I think he sounds terrible on that song.

heavy metal kid 06-02-2006 05:08 PM

He sings just the chorus of Would?, the part of "into the flood again...", at the end he sings Man in the Box, he sounded better than the first one.

TBH This is one of his best vocals in a few years.

blue3 06-03-2006 11:05 AM

It was alright. Would's an awesome song though.

Jev 06-03-2006 11:47 AM

I just thought the choruses sounded like him Wailing tunelessly.

benfan 06-03-2006 12:04 PM

It was ok, some parts he struggled to hit high notes but overall it was good

Metallica are playing the whole MOP album...right now.

Lars will die by disposable heroes is my guess.

: D

EDIT: Beaten to it but you get the idea

nowitzki 06-03-2006 03:14 PM

Whoa, this is awesome. I want to see how well Rob manages to pull off the Orion bass solo.

Refl 06-03-2006 03:16 PM

he'll handle it fine.

But, Lars and Damage Inc. should be errr...fun.

muahahaha (hopes for a train wreck)

vashts80 06-03-2006 03:17 PM

I'm really hoping they'll play the entirety of Orion and not cut it off befre the bass "lead" part at like 4mins in. Dream Theater have already done it, so why not the actual writers of the song?

Because DT show them up.

vashts80 06-03-2006 03:41 PM

Holy Hell Here It Is, Orion

vashts80 06-03-2006 03:46 PM

Rob playing the bass solo in Orion just gave me the absolute chills

Refl 06-03-2006 03:50 PM

That was damn good.

By current Metallica performance standards.

Jev 06-03-2006 03:52 PM

I can't watch it :upset:

Well I guess I missed most of it anyway.

nowitzki 06-03-2006 03:55 PM

That kicked serious ass, I really hope they do this at Download.

One of a Kind 06-03-2006 03:59 PM

Oh man...people still talk about Metallica? Hmm...here's what I think about them.

Their first 4 albums were good, and their S/T was decent. Everything else sucked. The death of Cliff Burton was pretty much the end of good Metallica besides ...AJFA. Lars Ulrich is a self-absorbed prick who cares about nothing but making money, and James is almost as bad. Kirk is a severely over-rated guitarist, but he has a great personality, and if it wasn't for him, Metallica would have been broken up a long time ago. Lars needs to get some drum lessons, because whenever I listen to Metallica I laugh at how much he sucks. St. Anger was one of the worst albums I've ever heard...but now that they have a good bassist in Robert Trujillo and they got rid of Bob ****. Hopefully Trujillo is a major contributor on the new album because with his help, the new album won't be the massive pile of **** St. Anger was.

Jev 06-03-2006 04:00 PM

Please tell me someone already has that whole MOP @ Rock Am Ring so they can send it to me.

MRDuCran 06-03-2006 04:08 PM

I just saw Metallica at Rock Am Ring on tv but it was Fuel and Creeping Death.
