bus, to answer the question you asked via aim, uh, im not sure which superstitious you mean. i aint superstitious, the blues one, is on truth. the superstitious that stevie wonder wrote is on beck, bogart, and appice.
Yea, I meant the Stevie Wonder one. I knew he wrote it for Beck, but I thought he eventually ended up playing it and Beck never did. So when I saw it on that Boston '75 bootleg I thought it was just a concert song. I guess both Beck and Stevie Wonder recorded it though.

EDIT: Pass the Chronic-WHAT-cles of Narnia. That was my favorite sketch of the episode

Kaleidoscope Eyes 12-19-2005 10:18 AM

I used to watch it all the freaking time until Farrel left. I lost faith in the cast, but they are looking better now, some new faces at least

I loved the sketch with Neil as the "Druggie Son"

I laughed my *** of at the cupcake one, that was great
You can't go wrong when Jack Black is hosting

MBS 12-19-2005 11:01 AM

I missed SNL, I went to sleep early. :(

I think I want some new albums.

Bus 12-19-2005 11:05 AM

That site has all of the sketches that Jack Black was in. And Freud's link above is hillarious. Check those out.

I think I'm getting new albums for Christmas.

NP: Tenacious D - Tribute

DesolationRow 12-19-2005 11:15 AM

I just got Abbey Road, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, and Physical Grafitti.

Score.

MBS 12-19-2005 11:31 AM
I just got Abbey Road, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, and Physical Grafitti.

Very much so. I still don't have Physical Graffiti. I feel no physical need to rush out and buy it.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-19-2005 12:39 PM

I miss you guys....(not Krabsman)
BB King said he didn't do it much either.
I can tell......

How do you guys keep track of all the music you've listened to in (x) amount of time? I'm not a 100% on who I've given the most listens to (in the past week) but I'm on a huge Nick Drake, Allman Brothers, and Raidiohead kick right now.

I think the Kinks could possibly be the greatest pop songwritters to ever hit music, 2nd only to the Beatles. Does anyone have Face to Face? I've had alot of trouble trying to find it.

For some odd reason, the Blues hold less and less of my interest these days. The flame that was once ablaze seems to have floated too far into the reaches of time and space for this man. I blame the Allman Brothers. :(

Badass album we never talk about: Modern Sounds In Country and Western Music by Ray Charles. This might honestly be the best Country album to ever hit my ears.

Lunch: I wish to make peace.......

I was in Sam's Club yesterday with a friend and when we left we got followed by a cop. He came up to me and asked to see my backpack. Inside I knew I hadn't stole anything but I also knew there was a dime bag, a pipe, and 2 lighters in my pocket but I remained cool about the situation and talked my way out of it. Although the basterd did search my backpack.......would've ran if he tried to pat me down.

PinkFreud 12-19-2005 12:41 PM

www.last.fm

thats a plug-in you download for whatever player you use to listen to music with and it keeps track of what you listen to. then you go to the site and check your stats or whatever. are you back for good?

im planning on smoking with my friends and then watching super troopers. thats all i have planned for tonight.

edit: why were you in sam's club?

edit2: i just downloaded a 17 disc boxed set of dylan rarities and live releases. WE'RE BOUT TO GET TAKEN TO A DREAM WORLD OF MAGIC.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-19-2005 12:58 PM
are you back for good?
I guess so because everything has died down a bit but I don't think I'll be posting as much as I used to.
thats a plug-in you download for whatever player you use to listen to music with and it keeps track of what you listen to. then you go to the site and check your stats or whatever.
So it's a mp3 player thing?
edit: why were you in sam's club?
A huge slice of pizza and a coke for $2:50 is a good deal.

I got a free promotional CD of Live at Carnegie Hall (1963) by Bob Dylan yesterday too. I love how Dylan gives things out for free. :D

MBS 12-19-2005 01:13 PM
So it's a mp3 player thing?
Well, it plugs in to your music player of choice on your computer, so WMP, iTunes, WinAMP, whatever.

Good to have you back, man.

magicbus 12-19-2005 01:46 PM

Hell yea, I'm back  If I wasn't banned I probably would've hit 7000 by now.

Good to see you back too Schyma.

NP: George Harrison - My Sweet Lord (Live at the Concert for Bangladesh)

MBS 12-19-2005 01:52 PM

Everyone's coming back! It's kind of like...

like...

well, I don't know. :-/

Lunch 12-19-2005 02:25 PM
Lunch: I wish to make peace.......
Fine by me. I didn't mean to make a huge deal out of it, but I didn't really appreciate it when you said "fuck you" to me.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 02:41 PM

My family's been having a great fricking fight right now... Gn'R sure helps out when you're frustrated (with songs like Back Off B*tch)

Haha, I definetly wouldn't have ran, but that's because in Canada all they would do is maybe take your pipe. They don't really care aobut that up here because they have a hard enough time controlling all the meth users/dealers.

Anyways welcome back.

NP-Herbie Hancock-Chameleon

Nothing CR related happened today except I listenend to some at school.;)

Glitterati 12-19-2005 03:23 PM

Yay, Schyma's back!

/me does a celebratory dance

Simon & Garfunkel are so awesome. I've been on a total S & G kick as of late.

Simon and Garfunkel are awesome. So many perfect songs. Great stuff.

Welcome back Schyma.

I expect a lot of cds for Christmas.

np- Run Like Hell

Edit- Forrest Gump was on tv last night. That's such a great movie with classic rock references.

So, PinkFreud, I happened to notice that 17 disc set of Dylan rarities/ live. Any chance you could upload a few of the best songs?

jpj 12-19-2005 05:24 PM

I think I'm getting a new bass this Christmas, plus some CD's and a computer game. Yay.

Broken Arrow 12-19-2005 05:40 PM

Ewwww. 6 sting.

Acctually no, I've come to accept them.

Yeah, I'm definitly in for anything form that Dylan set/

Krabsworth 12-19-2005 05:42 PM

Anyone have any early Fleetwood Mac albums? I really want to hear this Peter Green guy that was supposed to be really good and played guitar for them until 1970.

jpj 12-19-2005 05:43 PM

'Bout god damn time.

I actually don't know if I'll be getting a 6-string because there's no where I can go to play a left-handed one. I can play 4 strings upside down, but I don't think I'd be able to really tell if I'd like a 6-string from playing it upside down just because I've never played one extensively before. I don't know...

NP: The Grateful Dead-Black Peter \m/

Broken Arrow 12-19-2005 05:46 PM

I still prefer 4 string.

I laughed when I saw this:
NP: The Grateful Dead-Black Peter \m/
I'm not sure how many album's I'm getting for Christmas, maybe none considering I got a bunch last year.

Krabsworth 12-19-2005 05:54 PM

I'm not saying what I will get for Christmas.

Glitterati 12-19-2005 05:57 PM

I'm probably getting gift certificates/cash to get myself CDs this year. I think my parents thought I might notice if I saw them come home with bags full of ska CDs.

MBS 12-19-2005 06:03 PM

My parents aren't too good at hiding gifts. :-/

"Hey mom, what's this Ibanez guitar doing in your closet?"

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:06 PM

My parents are worse. They insult my intelligence when they say "Don't look in the back of my car. your CD for Chirstmas is NOT in there.

Illmatic 12-19-2005 06:08 PM
My parents aren't too good at hiding gifts. :-/

"Hey mom, what's this Ibanez guitar doing in your closet?"
my mom and stepdad have present for me shipped to their office, then bring them home right before Christmas Eve. Pretty clever.

Glitterati 12-19-2005 06:08 PM
"Don't look in the back of my car. your CD for Chirstmas is NOT in there.
If they seriously said that to you....wow :amaze:

MBS 12-19-2005 06:10 PM
my mom and stepdad have present for me shipped to their office, then bring them home right before Christmas Eve. Pretty clever.
That is. I should tell them to do that.

Glitterati 12-19-2005 06:13 PM

I've been really getting into funk lately.

Also, everyone go support my Woody Guthrie fred!

Illmatic 12-19-2005 06:14 PM

For a second there I thought you said, "I've been really getting into a funk lately" and I got a little worried there.

I'm getting into A Tribe Called Quest and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony a lot recently.

Broken Arrow 12-19-2005 06:15 PM
my mom and stepdad have present for me shipped to their office, then bring them home right before Christmas Eve. Pretty clever.
Yeah, same. Although I dont go looking for them even if there are some in the house/

EDIT-Yeah, I listen to The Low End Theory at least once every two days, flawless album. I am worried that I'm gonna burn myslef out on it though, so I want to pick up Midnight Marauders

blue3 12-19-2005 06:17 PM

I can never find my presents. I still don't know where my parents hide them.

robo2448 12-19-2005 06:20 PM

I know where my parents hide them but I don't look for them because I like to be a little surprised. My mom tries to wrap presents as soon as she buys them too.

Glitterati 12-19-2005 06:20 PM

I agree with the awesomeness of A Tribe Called Quest. I wish they were still around.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:20 PM

That was when I was little. Now they put the CD's in dad's sock drawer. Maybe they think the smell will scare me off...

Broken Arrow 12-19-2005 06:49 PM
I agree with the awesomeness of A Tribe Called Quest. I wish they were still around.
I saw Q-Tip on the Chapelle show once, that was pretty interesting.

So what is everbody else into now, besides A Tribe Called Quest?

Glitterati 12-19-2005 07:01 PM

Miles effing Davis, that's what I've been into lately.

I am also listening to Mitch Hedberg right now

jpj 12-19-2005 08:13 PM

There isn't really one thing I've been listening to a lot of lately. I finally listened to all of that Matisyahu album. I've kinda been in a Tull mood lately, and right now I'm listening to Workingman's Dead, which I could listen to constantly.

Looks like Mr. David has decided to grace North America with his presence.
