Evening all.

Well my new computer is setup and good to go.

Fun time ahead with all the software installs to be done.

Moon Flavor 03-24-2007 10:50 AM

I'm tired.

I have to go do community service with a priest in less than an hour and it's gonna be awkward/boring/tiresome....I just wanna chill and listen to the new 65DOS and play Tales of Phantasia....

Thonk 03-24-2007 10:51 AM

65daysofstatic?

Akira 03-24-2007 10:52 AM

I found out Thursday I made jazz band for next year, and I was pretty sure I wouldn't. So that was pretty awesome. Plus today I am picking up a Tascam 122L Audio/MIDI interface and Sonar Studio+Dimension Pro, which will be a pretty sweet audio/MIDI recording setup.

I am spending more than I really wanted to, but it's okay. I have money saved up that I don't need for anything else. I almost never really spend money. I am planning on focusing on MIDI work (which is why I am getting DimPro), but I am getting the Tascam because my stock sound card isn't a good enough audio interface to work right with Sonar. So instead of getting a basic soundcard, I went with the Tascam for the powered XLR ins.

TimJim 03-24-2007 10:58 AM

does anyone use Limewire

melikey

Thonk 03-24-2007 11:01 AM

limewire is awful.

ebe9 03-24-2007 11:01 AM

So, my wrist is giving me crap (fretting hand) and I have it all strapped up.

Sure hope I am not getting a case of RSI or Carple Tunnel.

Annoying becasue it means I can't play.

Thonk 03-24-2007 11:05 AM

i thought i was getting something in my right forearm last week.

it was like a sharp pain on the top side of my arm by my elbow.. i just didn't do anything for a few days and it went away.

Akira 03-24-2007 11:05 AM

Woah, what happened to timmyjimmy?

Thonk 03-24-2007 11:07 AM

hobbes probably slammed the banhammer.

Brandon_S 03-24-2007 11:09 AM

"...like that of jazz, is that its complexity is simple: producing obliquely related phrases and "unexpected" rhythmic starts, it is like a movie of too much going on at once without central action, so that any given frame appears an intriguing picture, but when run in real-time sequence, it becomes a blur of divergent motion with no convergence. "

- Vijay Prozak

Discuss,I think that is the stupidest quote ever,he obviously, does not know what he is talking about, and doesnen't know alot about music.

I noticed that you deleted the post, so I recanted my decision.

Light fantastic however is not playing ball, so I have stuck him in the bench warmer position

Brandon_S 03-24-2007 11:13 AM
going to a cigar party tonight, going kite flying today, my band is playing a show on the 31st, and i wont be here. so yesterday we had a bass player from 3 hours north drive in and i taught him all the songs (he can sort of play them WOO!) so we got that taken care of
Wow,I would be nervous if a bass player was takening my spot in my band,What songs are V.G minus you, going to be playing?

well then you dont have much confidence in your playing, or your band mates dont like how you play.

Thonk 03-24-2007 11:20 AM

hmm.. i'm thinking of building a guitar for my senior project for school.

well, the body, anyway. i could just order a neck off of warmoth and pass it off as my own.

may be expensive, but i'll have a sweet ass guitar afterwards instead of doing something like community service.

Brandon_S 03-24-2007 11:22 AM
well then you dont have much confidence in your playing, or your band mates dont like how you play.
Yeah,I don't have alot of confidence in my playing, only because I feel like I can do better, whenever I try to do my best, and im sort of a perfectionist when it comes to playing.

You'd be pretty retarded to kick Phil out of a band.

I know the feeling. Especially when I get a new piece of gear and get the "I am not worthy of this" syndrome

A big 123 on that.
I know the feeling. Especially when I get a new piece of gear and get the "I am not worthy of this" syndrome
Yeah,I dont do that when I get new gear. Just whenever I work on my own peices,I just think...hmm this could be so much better, but I think alot of musicians do that.
