I'd be down for it once I get my PODxt. Which will be like 2 months most likely.
What kind of axe do you have?

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 08:36 PM

Schecter C-1 Classic.

I may sell it though, in favor of a Carvin. I'm pretty much overhauling my entire rig now, or saving to.

Metallion#666 09-24-2005 08:39 PM

Nice,
Right now I have a Fender Katana (flying V), a BC Rich Bich, and a Washburn Tabu Series. I'm playin all these trough a s h i tty a s s practice amp. I love the fender though. I'm gonna save up for an ESP, or a washburnd Dimebag Darrell sig.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 08:43 PM

If you want a Dimebag sig get a Dean, they're so much better. I've looked into ESPs a lot lately, since I've been after a high end guitar for a while now. I started out looking for Vs, RRs, Kellys, and Warriors, now I'm pretty set on a V for various reasons.

I love my Schecter but the thing is so damn heavy, my leg falls asleep while playing sitting down.

Metallion#666 09-24-2005 08:47 PM

My bich weighs a f u c kin ton, but for some reason I like heavy guitars. I think for my next guitar I'll get a DV8

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 09:38 PM

Can anyone remind me what songs Dave does his thing where he records two vocal tracks, one normal and one weird? Definitely on the earlier records, I can't recall specifics though right now. I just heard another song with it, and remembered the technique. I think its really cool.

Are you talking about one where the two different vocal tracks are played simultaneously? One where theres two different tracks (i think) is "Take No Prisoners". Theres one track with Dave singing normal and another one thats deep.

days of the new 09-24-2005 09:48 PM

who here thinks dave mustaine can fight? who would win in a fight dave or the guitarist for megadeth with the curly black hair (forget his name)

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 09:52 PM

Simultaneously.

Dave is a blackbelt, I'm sure he could pwn a fair few of douches. I'd like to see him beat down Zakk Wylde.
Simultaneously.

Don't know any simultaneous ones. Is he doing both parts on one track in Take No Prisoners? That would be hillarious to see him beat down Zakk Wylde. I think a fight between James Hetfield and Dave would be awesome too.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 09:56 PM

He would own James so hard. I heard somewhere that he actually did punch him out back in the day.

I don't know how the tracking is on Take No Prisoners, but that's not what I'm talking about. I read about it in the notes for either KIMB, PS, or SFSGSW, but now I can't remember at all.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 09:59 PM

The James vs. Dave fight should be on that Celebrity Boxing and the opening act could be Marty vs. Kirk.

i don't think that in this time he could beat james, maybe back in the day, but come on, james is like twice dave, and dave has fragile hands.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 10:08 PM

Fragile hands? And Dave is still a black-belt and since when is James twice his size?

heavy metal kid 09-24-2005 10:14 PM
Fragile hands? And Dave is still a black-belt and since when is James twice his size?
i saw metallica last year and i was almost in the last line, james looked big.
i saw megadeth last month in i was at the middle line, dave was a real thin man.

just compare pictures, also wasn't dave injured in the hand?

Edit: i don't think is good to make a discussion for something that it never gonna happen.

Dave's left hand is back to normal. Dave is skinnier you're right, but hes also a black belt.

last comment on this:

it would turn into a Walker Texas Ranger fight, you know a small man beating like a sumo wrestler.

That would be hillarious.

Themadhatter 09-24-2005 10:48 PM

Dave would send him to the hospital in minutes. No doubt in my mind.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 10:53 PM

Yeah because Vs > gay LPs.

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 10:54 PM
The James vs. Dave fight should be on that Celebrity Boxing and the opening act could be Marty vs. Kirk.
Or even Lars vs whoever the heck drums for Megadeth.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 10:56 PM

Nick Menza would get his alien friends to pwn Lars. He'd have to though... because of his injury :(

heavy metal kid 09-24-2005 10:58 PM
Nick Menza would get his alien friends to pwn Lars. He'd have to though... because of his injury :(
in fact all the drummers of megadeth could pwn lars.

But Robert Trujillo could take all the Megadeth members anyday, using his DK powers.

...There's gonna be a lot of banned people in that Megadeth vs. 'Tallica thread.

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 11:02 PM

What about Cliff vs Robert Trujillo? Or either of them vs whoever the heck plays bass for Megadeth.

Yeah, I only know Dave and Marty. The rest of Megadeth just seems so disposable.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 11:02 PM

Trujillo doesn't count as a Tallica member, I feel sorry for him that he's in such an atrocious band.

heavy metal kid 09-24-2005 11:05 PM
Trujillo doesn't count as a Tallica member, I feel sorry for him that he's in such an atrocious band.
nah, Metallica aren't bad at all, they are overated, but that doesn't mean they're bad.

imo Megadeth is only better than Metallica for the Rust in Peace, in fact both bands are almost the same.
Yeah, I only know Dave and Marty. The rest of Megadeth just seems so disposable
Ellefson was in the band more years than Marty, in fact he was the second main composer.

RiceMonster 09-24-2005 11:07 PM

IMO Megadeth is better because of every musical aspect.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 11:10 PM
IMO Megadeth is better because of every musical aspect.
I agree, but I don't think you're being serious.

not exactly, remember that Metallica use to have Mustaine as a composer.

the Metallica Instrumentals are better than Megadeth ones also metallica have more variety in their music, despise the powerchord abuse.

I'm not saying that metallica is better than megadeth, i'm just saying that there's not much difference between the bands.

The vocals are extremely different. Megadeth is also much faster than Metallica. Metallica did have Dave as a composer but only for one album.

RiceMonster 09-24-2005 11:13 PM

No, I am serious. I pretty much hate metallica now.
No, I am serious. I pretty much hate metallica now.
Oh ok, good. I've always hated Metallica and it made me think I hated metal for a long time, but I've found a bunch of metal bands I do like now.

two to be exact, i think my reply was pointless, rice monster hates metallica. :upset:

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 11:15 PM

Overall Megadeth is better. They thrash better, play every intrument better, and never released St Anger (that's the main one there).

Metallica is still great though.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 11:17 PM

No and no. Megadeth only have one instrumental in the first place, and I'd say Megadeth have more variety throughout their career.

You said overall, what areas do you find Metallica to be better in? (just wondering)

i agree completly with your comment, except for the St. Anger stuff, i think Risk is as crappy as St. Anger.

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 11:19 PM

I've never heard Risk. I think i'll take a listen.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 11:20 PM

At least Risk didn't completely fail at what it tried to do.

See what Tallica's next album is then argue with us.
