Drunked posting, awesome.
I wonder how long it took for them to remove modding rights, after I wandered off. Got any more artefacts? Also: IE is fail. |

Not as much as Sub Woofer (big magnet) next to external hard drive (magnet sensitive storage)... >_> <_< Anyways, the sub sounds best there, I've had it in a few different places in the room. |

|
I have too much storage space.
60GB Webbook 750GB Media Center 60+60+650GB Desktop 320GB External 8GB pen drive 4x2GB SD cards And I'm using like...300GB max across all. It's stupid. I want a nice 128GB SS drive for my re-build. |
Hmm, computer-y talk.
Children, I want one of those little netbook things. Sub £200. Thoughts? |

This is the same one I have. Got it from Curry's for £250. Love it, love it. It's the perfect tool for the job. Advent 4211C http://computers.shop.ebay.co.uk/Laptops-Netbooks-/177/i.html?_nkw=advent+4211c&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282 |
idk about specific models, but they are interesting. Just make sure you have a way to install programs. Which usually involves the buying of a USB DVD drive. Though they are perfect for basic computing/office programs.
My mother was thinking about getting one, damn thing could fit in her purse. The only problem being she is old and can't see 11-13" very well. I told her to hook it up to the living room 46" using a VGA cable w/ usb mouse/keyboard and she can just unhook it all when she needs it to be portable. (my Linux drive) I'm not sold on SS drives just yet. Windows 7 at least isn't designed for use with SSD and I hear bad things about legacy file system and the effects it has on SSD speed. Which is one of the major upsides to them, they don't have to friggin seek and shit. |
ive just the 1 storage device in my desktop
|
Sub would sound best in a corner but with carpet it's not gonna make much difference. Hardwood flooring ftw.
|
even on 0, my sub is pretty boomy, i have the port clogged with a sock and i have it perched atop a folded tshirt to muffle the boominess

LFD is the file system different from Vista to 7? Like can I upgrade to 7 and keep my partitions or what's the dillio with that?
Now I wanna post pictures of my 1200 :D not quite that badass looking though Cleaned the dust filters and moved it to the floor, runs 10c colder now, my cpu fan quit speeding up all the time |

I think I understand this form of English you speak. Windows will read NTFS and FAT, but I think it has been that way since Windows 2000. Real answer you are looking after I think is the fact you will have to reformat (install over w/e) the drive/partition which has Windows on it with the new Windows. It isn't as easy as Macintosh and no where near as easy as a Linux install with a separate /home. You'll have to reformat C-drive (if you want to format over Vista/XP w/e you are using) with Windows 7. This will erase everything on this partition/drive. So you'll have to re-install all your programs. You have to do this with Windows because it has a registry. That thing Microsoft said they were going to get rid of in Longhorn then that kind of got thrown out the window. har har. Anyways, when you install a program 98% of the time (give or take a little) it puts a file(s) in you registry. So if you just copy everything, install a new copy of windows (let alone new version), the programs wont have those registry files and it will cause your programs to not work/crash/etc. etc. //Best answer unless you rephrase the question. (kind of wordy but I answered like 3 different interpretations) If you have a D-drive or w/e (My main HDD has a C and D partition and my 2nd HDD is E) you don't have to worry about all the files on it. Though if you have any programs installed you'll have to re-install them for above reasons dealing with the registry. on closing long-winded note, if you actually buy an upgrade package from Vista -> W7 they might have it so that it will move your files and stuff for you. I'm not sure, never dealt with the upgrade path stuff. That way you don't have to install Vista and then upgrade it to W7 if you have to reformat.
Now I wanna post pictures of my 1200 :D not quite that badass looking though
srsly post away! :chug:
Cleaned the dust filters and moved it to the floor, runs 10c colder now, my cpu fan quit speeding up all the time
Dust sucks, I cleaned out my old build and gave it to my mother. It was in a Silverstone TJ07. Problem is I really don't have any room to put my computer up off the ground so it doesn't suck up the dust. My lungs hated me after cleaning that bastard out, and it had only been 6 months or so since I cleaned it. :upset: When I tore it apart and rebuilt it for my mother I payed more attention to wire running so it would be easier to keep clean. The Corsair case I bought practically makes you to run the wires behind the mobo wall because it has all those holes for water cooling. |
i request a new lod for the cool people, and this lod be renamed the nerd lod
