Okay I might look into the movie. btw Is the songs the same in the movie or have they used non wall material as well?

Otherside 04-02-2005 07:57 AM

The film also has "When the Tigers Broke Free" or something like that, doesn' it?

lunch998 04-02-2005 09:35 AM

I couldn't believe it didn't have Hey You. To me that song is the most important part of the album, it's definitely signifcant as a turning point.

slowhand 04-02-2005 09:53 AM

Well, they took off Hey You from the movie because it was repetitive on the visual side. But they have it on the bonus feautures.

moaner 04-02-2005 11:05 AM

animals is totally my favourite album at the moment.

It also left off What Shall We Do Now, whitch I will NEVER understand because (when added with Empty Spaces like its ment to) is one of my favorite songs on the album (well the live album)

For a while Animals was my favorite, but then Meddle over threw it.

magicbus 04-02-2005 02:36 PM

Waiting for the Worms has very haunting lyrics. Or maybe its just because he's yelling them, but whatever.

TerryThorne 04-02-2005 03:01 PM

Where could I find the See Emily Play video?

I didn't really think they were haunting

I tried to search the forum for Live at pompeii, but I dont want to search through 3 thusand posts just to found out the thing I wanted, so I wont make a new post!

I am a dumb person so when I read through the tracklist on the Pink Floyd dvd "Live At Pompeii" this is what I found:

Songs:

"Echoes - Pts. I and II"

"Careful with that Axe, Eugene"

"A Saucerful of Secrets"

"Us and Them"

"Mademoiselle..."

"Brain Damage"

"Set The Conrols For The Heart Of The Sun"

"Echoes"

And then I thought: 8 songs on a live dvd? What's the trick here?

Six Foot Revolver 04-02-2005 03:40 PM

Well echoes is 16 minutes long
Careful with that axe, Eugene is 5:46 minutes long
A Saucerful of Secrets is 12:48 minutes long
Us and Them is 7:51 minutes long
Mademoiselle... I don't know how long it is
Brain Damage is 3:41
Set The Conrols For The Heart Of The Sun is 9:12
and Echoes as stated before is 16 minutes long

So they are all fairly long songs. Also, they are live so the songs will have bits added to them so it will be longer.

rippa32 04-02-2005 10:23 PM

What do people here think of careful with that axe? I absolutley love it.

I think a week or two ago I went on quite a rave about it, and meh I'm in the mood for another.

I love that song. I just get the feeling that they were trying to be as creative as possible, whitch I really respect. Also what Waters can do with his voice is just awsome, and creey.

rippa32 04-02-2005 10:40 PM

creepy - yes, awesome - definately. I actually saw it live and the crowd just sat there as if nothing was going on.

His face looks so funny when he does that scream. Especially on the Pow R Toc H clip on the Pink Floyd Video Anthology.

edit: I cant believe I spelled it expecially.

rippa32 04-02-2005 10:45 PM

Yeah it does. For no particular reason it reminds me of an eagle, or that could just be the noise that reminds me.

Oh yea what did you think of that guys "They are far too loud" speach when they played at Top of the Pops. I thought it was great hearing Syd own him.

Is there any Australians here? I went looking for The Wall today and found it for $42. Is that too much?

pigonthewing82 04-02-2005 11:49 PM

Heres somthing interesting, I just got a Pink Floyd bootleg with Syd on it called Syd's Sugercube. Its really good, and it really shows how he could really jam. There is also a recording of Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. Now this was recorded before the rest of the band took over writting I assume because Gilmour is not on the cd that I know of. So did Syd write the guitar for it?

If this looks like you've read it before you probally have. I posted it in the Syd Barrett thread, but I deleted it to post it in here because I thought mabye I could get a better response.

Riva 04-03-2005 03:11 AM

Rippa, it's 55 dollars usually. 42 is a great price.

pigonthewing82 04-03-2005 03:18 AM

You know if you guys want to hear some good piano playing by Wright you should pick put Syd Barrett's solo career cd Barrett. Wright plays piano, and Gilmour plays drums.

DeusExMachina 04-03-2005 04:11 PM

Hey everyone, I'm back. Too lazy to catch up on the old posts, I'm sure they were earth-shattering and brilliant.

I got The Wall for like 15 bucks, used.
