ya well, maybe he's a closet jethro tull lover.
|
Ah.. well, I'm a music lover so there are no musical instruments i think are gay :P. I always thought he was a cool guy.. and hell, I am still pretty close-minded too (ive been trying to open up more lately). Anyway, you guys dig Death at all? Chuck Schuldiner = the man.
|
Yeah, I mean! calling all Power Metal gay....that's just daft. Anyway! Death are a great band and indeed Chuck is the man, well....was.
|
Daft, but probably not too far removed from the truth. :p... Nar, he said it out of ignorance, so it is a bit silly. Eh, i've said more than my fair share of ****, but i NEVER make comments without a bit of listening first. Lmao, i think it's funny though, Dargon has no cds, and about 300 mp3s... Lmao.
Chuck was a **** good all round musician until around the time of human, when he tried for a more technical/progressive sound, and death slowly went downhill. (Although i do rather enjoy Individual Thought Patterns.) And his vocals went downhill too, they were absolutely terrible by the time that SoP came around. You can listen to the live CDs around that time and hear with that freakin naselly voice singing Zombie Ritual... It's just not on. :( Anyway, before 1992, Death were ****ing awesome. I really enjoy listening to their first 3. Leperosy and Spiritual Healing are both excellent Progressive Death albums, being truely progressive not wasting time with meaningless farting around. Just continuing from one great riff to another. Oh, and scream bloody gore is still one of my favourite CDs. :D With all this death talk... NP: Death - Zombie Ritual (Intro is A-W-E-S-O-M-E) |
I love death, an amazing band
|
Yeah, I'm getting to the 300 mark on CDs now, I'm a proud boy. Still trying to find The Law by Exhorder on CD....I know Roadrunner released both albums as a double CD pack, but I can't find it. I'm sick of listening to the **** thing on casette. Anyway! I know what you mean about Death, kinda like Metallica really.....just a few years between.

While were on the subject of death...
CHUCK SCHULDINER: 'Zero Tolerance II' To Include Early Demo Material, Live Recording
Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) has announced plans to issue another collection of early demo recordings by late DEATH/CONTROL DENIED mastermind Chuck Schuldiner. Entitled "Zero Tolerance II", the CD will reported contain DEATH's first demo, "Death by Metal" (recorded in 1984 under the group's original name, MANTAS) and the follow-up recording, "Reign of Terror", also recorded in 1984. As a bonus, the collection will feature a DEATH live show recorded at the After Dark club in Texas during the "Spiritual Healing" tour in 1990, "with a lot of real and cool things happening during the show," according to a statement from Karmageddon. "And so far there is no cool live recording available from those early days…" With regards to the status of the incomplete sophomore CD from CONTROL DENIED, Karmageddon said, "Maybe ask the Schuldiner family about that, we simply do not know and they still refuse to tell us, sad enough." "Zero Tolerance", issued earlier this year through Karmageddon Media, featured DEATH's "Infernal Death" (1985) and "Mutilation" (1986) demos alongside previously unreleased demo recordings from CONTROL DENIED. |

I really like Megadeth, and can't find the right thrash band to try out next. I've heard great things about Dark Angel, Testament, Kreator, and Coroner. I know nothing about these bands and would like a general description of the bands you understand completely. Please suggest an album, but I need a desription much more than what I should buy. For I have no music download system to try each band out. Thanks.

Dark Angel - "Darkness Descends" - from teh songs I've heard, it's fast and aggressive. Serious riffage here, and great intense drumming from Gene Hoglan. I'm sure you've heard of him. Think Slayer, but faster. Testament - "Teh New Order" or "Teh Legacy" Good thrash. Nothing too innovative, but still good. Testament had a great lead player who's into jazz and his jazz trio now, Alex Skolnick. There's melodic solos, solid riffing, and above average vox. I guess they're compared to Metallica, but they never really made it big like them. Though to me, Testament > Metallica. Coroner - "Punishment For Decadence" Techincal thrash here. I just gave it a listen a few weeks ago, and man did it own. Teh only problem with this is that teh vocals are too low in teh mix. And when I can hear his voice, it's hot. Kreator - can't really say since I'm not a big fan, yet. But "Coma of Souls" (?) is popular among Kreator fans. I can't really comment on this album. But I can say that Kreator owns live. Germany has a great speed/thrash metals scene. So Kreator can't really fail to deliver that. I hope this helps out a bit, sorry for teh vagueness however. |

Sounds pretty solid to me. :thumb: yeah, i think the more CD's you get, the more you need. :/ |
^ Yeah, I need more cds. :upset: And I usually never buy teh cds I want or planning to buy. It's all impulse. :upset:
|
I always go to buy a CD, forget and then buy a completely different CD. I get out of the shop and remember what I was looking for and slap myself.
|
lmao, yep.
Would you consider 3 cds at $10 or 1 cd at $30 to be the better buy? |
is Testament-New Order better than The Legacy?
|
the new order is better, listen to musical death (a dirge) awesome instrumental
|
good, i'm not really into The Legacy that much
