I have no clue who is playing with Dwid now, it would be cool to find out the line up for the band. But like Reiner said I'm sure they are going to have to do a US tour.

shane italian 08-22-2008 03:36 PM

Hopefully I can make it back to Texas for Fun Fun Fun

last year was a blast

McP3000 08-22-2008 03:57 PM

Texas is amazing in general

NewKindofArmy03 08-24-2008 09:53 PM

This Is Hardcore was awesome, i'm so sore I must look like an old man whenever I try to move. Saturday was definately the best day, ending with Let Down, Cold World, Blacklisted, and Comeback Kid. Hadn't listened to comeback kid in forever, but they are great live and got me listening to them again.

BuddyBigsby 08-24-2008 09:57 PM

How was that Jasta set? Lots of Satisfaction?

NewKindofArmy03 08-24-2008 10:02 PM

Ended with Last Breath and Before Dishonor which was f'ucking awesome. I think the only other one from that was Empty Promises. Also did A Call For Blood, and one more Hatebreed song I can't remember. They did one Icepick song, 2 originals which seemed alright, and I can't really remember what else.

Crime in Stereo gets no love around here at all. saw them tonight and there was like 20 people there. Band is so good, good setlist tonight too.

BuddyBigsby 09-03-2008 02:16 AM

Seemed to get a solid reaction at TiH last year... but then again it was a fest. They're not big out here at all.

REINER... so I got straight up rejected for the study abroad program, but **** them because now I really want to go to Australia. I've been researching it a lot, but do you know of any good/relatively cheap ways to travel by land? I've been looking a little bit at driving but I don't know how that works out with not having an Australian license and whatnot. I need to get from Brisbane to Adelaide... wanna stop in Sydney, probably the Gold Coast and wherever else sweet is along the way.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-03-2008 06:31 AM

to drive overseas you need an international driving permit. just google it, i'm sure australia recognises them.

and definitely stop in melbourne

Let's Chop Cats! 09-03-2008 08:17 AM

That sucks man. I heard from a few kids that as long as you have a car and you pay the insurance your american license works, but I never double checked that myself. That distance is mad far but there is probably enough places to stop along the way to make it worth it. Trains cost roughly the amount of a plane, maybe a little less but the trip is like 10 times longer, just about as long as a car.

CIS usually does pretty bad here as well for some reason.

Or a boat.

Lazybassplr56 09-03-2008 01:46 PM

Def. saw Scott at a couple of shows this weekend.

santi3hg 09-03-2008 02:02 PM

I'm almost positive as long as you show an official drivers license issued by your country/state etc, you are okay to rent a car.

BuddyBigsby 09-03-2008 06:00 PM

thanks bros. only thing is gas is outrageous out there but I found a site/service that would be cheap as hell to rent a vehicle so I guess it balances out.

creepy? i was doing a lot of moshing this weekend.

Yeah its creepy. i was at f-yeah fest and the show the next day. You and me were 2 of the 7 people stoked to see Broken Needle. I was wearing an Eyehategod shirt.

BuddyBigsby 09-05-2008 12:28 AM

think i saw one but can't put a face to it. super awkward when todd was like "this is for the hardcore kids" and pointed to me.

That sucks man. Driving would be nice, there are lots of nice things to see and all of that. The Gold Coast is only an hour from Brisbane, I do that trip 3-5 times a week. It's a shitty place though so I wouldn't recommend coming here for too long. Sydney is comfortably doable in a couple of days or even one day if you're ok with driving for a long time. Adelaide would be a long-*** drive.

And yeah, Melbourne is essential. Best city in the country imo. Byron Bay is worth checking out, and Nimbin just for how bizarre it is. Coffs Harbour is ok. Really there are a lot of small towns on the beach between Brisbane and Sydney.

BuddyBigsby 09-05-2008 08:08 PM

I've driven cross country here a couple times, done one straight 2500 mile drive, and I've gone up and down the west coast, I love driving and being on the road so the drives aren't a concern. Right now I'm looking at flying to Auckland for a few days, hopping over to Brisbane and gradually making my way to Adelaide, hitting up Sydney, Melbourne, and whatever else along the way. Stoked for beaches. I found a railway that goes from Adelaide to Perth, so I'll probably hop on that there then fly home from Perth.

Have you been to Adelaide though? Is it even worth checking out? It might even make more sense to fly from Melbourne to Perth and have more time to spend in all the other places.

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2008 09:00 PM

Hit up Byron Bay if you can, place is sick.

santi3hg 09-05-2008 10:53 PM

Reiner/Scott.

The programs you two applied through were offered through your schools or is it a education group/foundation that represents several uni's for study abroad and ****.

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2008 11:50 PM

Through my school.

BuddyBigsby 09-06-2008 01:55 AM

I go to a Cal State, and I went through the Cal State wide study abroad program. There are also private study abroad agencies but they're a lot more expensive for a few reasons, and you don't get residency credits which sucks if you're a transfer student like me.

br3ad_man 09-06-2008 10:22 PM

Honestly dude, Adelaide is kind of a hole. Possibly worth checking out but Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth are all a lot nicer imo. I haven't been there for quite a few years but I don't have much desire to go back.

BuddyBigsby 09-06-2008 10:50 PM

Word. Well I'm thinking about cutting out Perth because it'll give me a lot more time to spend in New Zealand and save a little money. I read about some island off the coast near Adelaide with hella wild life so I might just go there for like a day to see that and fly out of there.

StreetlightRock 09-07-2008 11:23 AM

So, um, which is the best H2O album to kick off with?

40 oz 2 freedom 09-11-2008 01:26 AM

Graveyard ruuuuled tonight. Plus new Iron Age **** is next level, and Witchcraft was good too.

NZ rules, I'd love to go back there sometime soon. Perth is real nice but probably skip-able.
