I picked Bowie. Although Bruce was tempting.
For a metal singer, Bruce Dickinson does have a testicle shattering voice.

PinkFreud 12-18-2005 02:17 AM

jack bruce. not bruce dickinson. dickinson was in the poll before this one.

Leper 12-18-2005 02:21 AM

Haha I posted about Jack Bruce just a second ago, then saw EightMilesHigh's post, and deleted mine because I thought I was mistaken lol.

Oh ok. I'm just going to pretend I never said that other thing.

Jacaranda 12-18-2005 02:24 AM

Bah, go with Bowie you guy's he has a better chance of making it, and I like him more. :)

Illmatic 12-18-2005 02:25 AM
Bah, go with Bowie you guy's he has a better chance of making it, and I like him more. :)
Why the heck do you do that?

Leper 12-18-2005 02:28 AM

Why does he go with the favourite you mean?

Jacaranda 12-18-2005 02:30 AM
Why the heck do you do that?
What'd you mean?

I don't go with my favorite you punk. When I say I like him more I mean I like his voice better then any one on there, although he just so happen's to be my favorite in this poll.
No, why does he throw random apostrophes where they don't belong?

"guy's"? C'mon that's not even close to being right, son, you gotta keep your head on straight.
Sorie grammer Nazzy. Ill tri an beehave beta.
But ever since someone (Seafroggy's I think...) went all Nazi on me for not using apostrophes I've just been using them whenever I feel they are needed, which is any time a word end's with a "s".

Illmatic 12-18-2005 02:30 AM

no way. you should all vote for gillan because he's more talented and I like HIM more.

I'm sorry...I didn't mean to come off as sounding hostile, it was just a random thing that confused the hell out of me.
I'm sorry...I didn't mean to come off as sounding hostile, it was just a random thing that confused the hell out of me.
I didn't think you were being hostile :P I'm just a smart ass. Who is very tired and still recovering from pneumonia, three weeks I tell you! Jesus, this is going to kill me I think.

I don't know much about this Gillan but better then Bowie! I beg to differ, from what I've heard (Highway Star, er... one CD can't recall name and a few other's) I wasn't all that impressed, or not impressed enough to call him better then the Duke.

PinkFreud 12-18-2005 02:42 AM

bah. i dislike "the duke"'s tone. its too...odd. gillan's voice is very powerful and smooth. mixed with his great range, it makes him one of my favorite vocalists. want me to upload some stuff for you?

Jacaranda 12-18-2005 02:45 AM

Sure if your up to it, I don't have any Deep Purple other then the cliche songs. Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, etc.

don't like bowie's tone /shakes head

PinkFreud 12-18-2005 02:48 AM

ok. whats your email address? just to be sure.

I agree. I'm still voting for him based on the end of Space Truckin'.

SRVS Greatest Fan 12-18-2005 10:22 AM

Hey Everyone, again, I think?

Well, i've read most of the posts and yes, at 16 i think almost all the bands i listened to, my parents listened to so i guess me and my parents get along that way.:thumb: Now i know people are gunna say something before i even spit it out, and i know i should get off this part of the msg board but i think that Randy Rhoads should be almost classed as classic rock, cause Iommi was 10x more of a metal player.:naughty:

now i also know that this is "The Pit" but ugh, there should be a post about him and his licks and style in the Guitar section of the site too...:amaze:

As saying that. can someone give me advice right now? because i'm trying to learn his Crazy Train song and im at the solo and i've got the first lick dne but i can't get the last too.. there to fast and it dosn't sound right.. Also someones feedback on "Mr Crowley" solo

Thanks a Million:smoke:

PinkFreud 12-18-2005 11:50 AM

jacaranda, did you get the songs?

to the guy above me, i cant help you. sorry.
I agree. I'm still voting for him based on the end of Space Truckin'.
Space Truckin' is the worst song ever.

Broken Arrow 12-18-2005 12:22 PM

Can I ask why?

I thought Neil's performance was pretty good.

I liked hearing some stuff off he new album live.

Krabsworth 12-18-2005 12:23 PM
Can I ask why?
No.

Ya, I'm downloading now. Thanks.

Neil was pretty good last night, too bad SNL still sucked even with Jack Black on it. Although I kinda like the Debbie Downer skits.
Why I don't like crappy music.
No, because you suck in general.

aC/dC4lyfe 12-18-2005 01:12 PM
Does anyone have the Fillmore West 3-CD set that was recently released?
No, I want it though. They release like a 7-disc set of all of the shows from the Live/Dead run of shows. It was released in very limited numbers though and you had to pre-order it on their site. I wish I'd gotten it.

I was skimming through the Annotated Lyrics in Barnes & Noble and it said Me and My Uncle is the most performed Grateful Dead song, cover or original. I believe it said they started playing it in 1966.

Yea, stop sucking, right now.

Firecracker 12-18-2005 01:21 PM

I bought a ELP cd the other day, i haven't listened to it yet. But i am expecting great things.

Bus 12-18-2005 02:07 PM

I just got my dad a Marshall Tucker Band dvd for christmas. I've never listened to them but he seemed to like them in college, so maybe I'll check it out after he opens it.

Illmatic 12-18-2005 02:28 PM

No, I agree with him here: Deep Purple sucks.

Lunch 12-18-2005 02:35 PM

Cool, which album?

The Live/Dead run was released as a 10-CD set, which was excessive even for me. I wouldn't have ordered it even if I knew about the release date.

10 CDs? Wow, I bet there's actually only like five songs..hahah.

I don't really like Deep Purple very much, maybe I just haven't heard enough...they just seem so average, nothing really stands out about them. Talented musicians, but that doesn't seem to help them any.

JPJ, everything about that account pisses me off...I wanna punch your avatar in the nose.

Broken Arrow 12-18-2005 03:08 PM

Anyone, want the Jimi Hendrix/Jim Morrison songs?

Or Jimi doing Sunshine of Your Love and Outside Woman Blues?

Or just other rarer Jimi songs?

I can YSI them for an early Christmas Present.

Krabsworth 12-18-2005 03:09 PM

Who is that in JPJ's alternate account avatar?

Broken Arrow 12-18-2005 03:13 PM

Rip Taylor. I think.

Krabsworth 12-18-2005 03:16 PM

I've been reading Guitar Player magazine backissues lately, and it is disapointing to read how much famous guitarists don't or didn't practice. George Harrison claimed to hardly practice, and I think BB King said he didn't do it much either.

Bus 12-18-2005 03:18 PM

I'd like to hear those rare Jimi tracks, if possible.

Does anybody want me to send out anything.

Broken Arrow 12-18-2005 03:25 PM

Ok, I'll send them out to everbody in abit, I have to do some stuff first.
