There is a particularly neat phrase in english 'I saw a man on a hill with a telescope'. It has around 3 or 4 interpretations in most languages, but I believe something like 24 in english.
1. Man is on the hill. He is holding a telescope. 2. Man is on the hill. The hill has a telescope on it. 3. Man is on the hill. I am holding the telescope. 4. Man is standing somewhere. I am on a hill, holding the telescope. 5. Man is standing somewhere, holding the telescope. I am on the hill. 6. I sliced a man with a saw. He was on the hill with a telescope. 7. I sliced a man with a saw. I was on the hill, he had the telescope. 8. I took the telescope and sawed through the man, who was on the hill. 9. I took the telescope and sawed through the man while I was on the hill. I can't think of any others. |

It feels like I've been beaten to hell and back.
And there's a large chance that I did, in fact, crack a rib or so, right at the sternum. GodDAMN does it hurt. |
;13331956']i hate studying
Ugh, me too. I don't have nearly a long enough attention span for it. I have history and phsyics tests tomorrow that I should be studying for but meh. The physics one is going to be ridiculously easy anyway. And Sunshine, what did you do to hurt yourself? |
The physics one is going to be ridiculously easy anyway.
lucky bastard. i'm studying for a physics test that's going to be insanely difficult. |
i need to get working on my physics lab and quite getting distracted with this site.

Concert-goers in Tucson are horribly brutal. And I wanted to be front and center, between metal rail and crowd, during Avenged Sevenfold. Now, I've seen plenty of concerts on the rail, and yeah, you get squished to hell and get a nice little bruise right under the braline, and it hurts for like a day. But holy crap, the crowd there last night was just WEIRD. Like there was this mosh pit in the back with a bunch of little kids, and anytime anyone even a little older [as in, a teenager, or my size/weight..when I say little kids, I mean 6th grade and younger] tried to get in, these two adults who I guess where "pit supervisors" would pick 'em up and throw 'em out, and they were like...teaching the little bastards how to mosh. Trust me, they were little bastards. Throwing CDs and bottles in the crowd and everything. But yeah. This was an over-the-top, violent freaking crowd. And the super hardcore metal re-enforced bar thing that stands between the crowd and the audience was being pushed so hard [with me inbetween mind] that it actually started to bend. |
Thats why I listen to civilised music.
Just kidding but really |
hey hey
|
i'm going to a lamb of god cpncert soon thatll be pretty intense
|
Part of it is location and, if it's outside, weather.
When the sun was up, the crowd was pretty mellow [except that kiddy pit and the throwing of shit]. Soon as the sun sank, BAM --- chaos like you'd never believe. It gets damnably hot in Tucson, people would rather squish together in the shade than sit alone in the sun [which kind of doesn't make sense to me]. And like. In Phoenix the crowd is pretty cool. Japan, the crowd is pretty cool. Some of the DC/MD crowds wern't bad at all...LA was, surprisingly, pretty cool. Tucson just sucks. It was a pretty similar story for Disturbed, except that was indoors and for some reason indoor concerts are more mellow than outdoor, all-day festival-type ones. |
Im going to an "ethnic mixup" concert tommorow.
Zithers, Duclimers, Tabla and various indian wind instruments. |
i'm going to a lamb of god cpncert soon thatll be pretty intense
The funny thing is, most of the metal concerts I've been have had moshing and such, yes, but it never erupts into the rest of the audience, and is generally fairly respectful. |
It ain't a metal show if people aren't goin down.
|
Oh man. I saw Medeski Martin and Wood on last Friday. It was probably the best concert I've ever been to. Chris Wood is absolutely amazing on bass, John Medeski is a beastly keyboardist, and Billy Martin is a way underrated drummer. I strongly recommend you see them if they come by.
Agreed, excellent band. |
