i've been digging Rodan's Rusty, and also their Peel Session...i didn't realise just how outstanding their drummer was before listening to the Peel Session, but turns out he's insanely talented.
I've never been able to find anything by Rodan, any links?

Also, what Unwound album should I start with?

HEALTH - HEALTH
Burial - Untrue

niobium 08-01-2008 03:48 AM

You should start with Leaves Turn Inside You because it is their most accessible and memorable. If you like any part of it, then listen to Repetition because every other album sounds like it, except the greatness is not as concentrated or representative. Repetition was the prime Unwound sound, until LTIY.

I should dl the Peel Session.

Every Unwound album is worth listening to. I'd start with Repetition though, if only because that was my first.

I'll upload everything by Rodan soon, I highly recommend the Peel Session.

i think challenge and s/t go lower than future of what and im not oo familiar w/ new plastic ideas, fake train or singles history... but future of what rocks wtf

niobium 08-02-2008 02:35 AM

i'll have to give it more chances then. i was generally not impressed, and it taught me that everything the band does isn't gold

Bukowski 08-02-2008 09:32 AM

Repetition > LTIY > New Plastic Ideas > Future of What > Fake Train > A Siingles History > Challenge for a Civilized Society > Unwound

Future of What has some of my favourite Unwound songs, no doubt. I love all these albums though, even the s/t.

niobium have you ever heard the Young Ginns, or the Replikants?

samarahah 08-02-2008 11:22 AM

fake train is my favorite

Anxious 08-02-2008 11:28 AM
