Dana Carvey did a sketch parodying some some that started out "She's cold as Ice... Paradise" It is really quite the classic, it is during the credits of "The Best Of Dana Carvey"

...you know... the guy who played Garth in Wayne's World

I think their Country Rock. The seemingly god of musical knowledge suggested me to them last night. (don't ask)

Lunch 07-17-2005 01:13 PM

I've never heard of them.

Glitterati 07-17-2005 01:16 PM
I bet they sound like Foriegner. Sort of bland classic rock.
I heard Journey's "Any Way You Want It" the other day. Now THAT's bland classic rock.

robo2448 07-17-2005 01:24 PM
I've never heard of them.
BludgeonySteve 07-17-2005 01:37 PM
RNR would love them I guess.

Actually he probably already does love them.
You're **** right. I love most cheesey 70s corperate rock.

Yea, we know. :p
Same here.
The released an album called Will the Circle be Unbroken and apparently it's one of the best Country Rock albums of the era.

/puts on some Thin Lizzy

Walrus Gumboot 07-17-2005 01:42 PM

Cheesy 70's is generally better than cheesy 80's, however

BludgeonySteve 07-17-2005 01:42 PM
Cheesy 70's is generally better than cheesy 80's, however
Agreed. Atleast in the 70s they had a good sense of melody. The 80s was such a powerchord whoring decade.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-17-2005 01:59 PM

Has anyone heard of Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz? It's probably one of the most important albums of the 60's.

You need a period at the end of your first sentence.

Walrus Gumboot 07-17-2005 02:03 PM
You need a period at the end of your first sentence.
I tend not to to use periods at the end of statements because it adds a bitter and sarcastic e-tone to my writing.

But just for you I will edit in a :thumb: with the hopes that it is an acceptable form of punctuation

BludgeonySteve 07-17-2005 02:07 PM

I see.

That album is (aside from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) heavily on the bluegrass/country side. Lots of acoustic. Maybe even a little banjo.

I've got that one and a Dirt Band album on vinyl. They're a really solid country rock band, I like their songs.

Walrus Gumboot 07-17-2005 02:38 PM

...so I learned how to play Rockin' In The Free World on my new Baritione Ukulele :D
