And yeah... Forever Changes is awesome. So is Revolver. I think Revolver might be the greatest psychadelic album ever.
np- Got to Get You Into My Life
*Cough Pet Sounds Cough* I get out Thursday and have to be back in school the Monday after New Year's. I don't do date's. |
We get out the 21st. Can't wait.
When we get back we got finals, but I'm opting out of 2 so I don't have that many. |
Last day before break for me is next Thursday, then we get 2 weeks off and resume the 9th. Then a week of review and finals....
|
I'm in until the 23rd.
Sent in all my college apps! Woohoo! But... got rejected from my early decision school... :upset: So, yeah. Classic rock. Totally awesome, amirite? |
I'm on a Forever Changes binge. Every song is great.

So the classic rock station out here in Detroit (94.7) just had a countdown of the best 400 classic rock albums as voted by the listeners. The top 10 are as follows: 1. Led Zeppelin - IV 2. Bob Seger - Live Bullet 3. Pink Floyd - DSOTM 4. The Eagles - Hotel California 5. The Who - Who's Next 6. The Beates - Sargent Pepper's 7. The Doors - The Doors 8. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours 9. The Beatles - Abbey Road 10. Pink Floyd - The Wall Eh... just thougt I'd share that with you guys. It interested me a bit... |

Seger's an odd choice to me, but seeing this is from Detroit, it makes sense. |
2. Bob Seger - Live Bullet
What? That's...odd... Forever Changes is pretty good. I don't think it's the masterpiece a lot of people say it is. Songs like Old Man and The Good Humor Man He Sees Everything Like This bore the hell out of me. |

I don't have any Seger, but I never got the impression that he was really popular and mainstream, and the radio stations often choose the most popular albums/ artists instead of the best ones. I don't listen to my radio station much, except when they do special things like the top 1043 songs of all-time. Also, on December 8th, they played all Beatles and Lennon which was awesome. They played some old interviews with John and about John that were just great to hear. Edit- Woodstock and JPJ beat me pretty badly on the Seger comment. np- John Lennon- I Found Out |
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed posts moving around? I could've sworn my post about Forever Changes was on page 1729, but now it's on 1730. I've noticed stuff like this before.
|
Seger is awesome. He's really popular in here around Detroit, considering he came from Ann Arbor (I live around there, just west of Detroit). I would have thought Night Moves would have been #2.
But my three favorite albums of all time made it to the top 5. Zep IV, Who's Next, and DSOTM. Made me happy some.... |
Boo that list suck's no Stone's but I suppose the Mac make's up for it.
DSOTM has to be one of the most overrated album's ever IMO it's crap I'd rather listen to Animal's or WYWH. |
I really dislike Seger. His songs all sound the same to me.
|
Rumours ahead of Abbey Road? Ha, don't make me laugh. Are they from Detroit too?
LZ II>IV |
I prefer WYWH and Animals to DSOTM, and The Wall for that matter but I love all four of those albums. I don't like what I've heard of Rumors. Fleetwood Mac was better with Peter Green and blues-rock. I would like to hear some more of their early stuff with him sometime.
|
Rumours ahead of Abbey Road? Ha, don't make me laugh. Are they from Detroit too?
LZ II>IV
Kick your arse for that comment. I'd take Rumours over Abbey Road any day. I cannot stand DSOTM or The Wall I think they are both garbage, but then again I don't think to much better of Pink Floyd as a whole. No Mac love either I see, well damn you all. |

ugh. that station ****ed it up good. seger? at 2?
i live in michigan and can honestly say that i hate seger. and abbey road is miles better than rumours. |
Ah, the old post a list and complain about it routine.
Well to get my shots in, that list sucks. |
DSOTM has to be one of the most overrated album's ever IMO it's crap I'd rather listen to Animal's or WYWH.
Wow...just....wow... you go to hell, you go to hell and you die
Kick your arse for that comment. I'd take Rumours over Abbey Road any day.
Says the man who thinks DSOTM is crap. |
Kick your arse for that comment. I'd take Rumours over Abbey Road any day.
 Are you ok, Jacaranda? I thought you had good taste? |
Wow...just....wow...
you go to hell, you go to hell and you die
Overrated, probably. Crap, no way. |
123 to above two posts.
Jacaranda has gone completely insane. |

I didn't know you lived in Detroit too? Anyways, I can't stand Seger. And I don't really like Rumours much either. |
That's about what I'd expect from 94.7. I didn't know you lived in Detroit too?
I actually live in Dexter, a few miles northwest of Ann Arbor. It's pretty normal for that station... Where are you from around here? |

I mean for The Stones, It's Only Rock and Roll should not be 20 spots ahead of Exile on Main Street. Exile Main Street is often considered The Stones masterpiece for good reason and It's Only Rock and Roll honestly just isn't very good. Actually it kind of sucks. It shouldn't make the list at all. Having it in the top 40 is just wrong. Jacaranda's had pneumonia (I think). So maybe that's why he's gone insane:p |
 Are you ok, Jacaranda? I thought you had good taste?
You've been lied to! Wow, this list isn't half bad compared to my station's list: 1. Lynyrd Skynyrd Album 1 2. Lynyrd Skynyrd Album 2 3. Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach 4. Lynyrd Skynyrd Album 3 5. Allman Brothers - Eat Another Peach 6. Led Zeppelin - IV 7. ACDC - Back In Black 8. ACDC - Highway To Hell Etc. Whoa, U2 is on there. My station never consider's them CR. That goes the same with Bryan Adams. Odd. Ya, just ignore me I'm on medicine galore. No joke's I can't for the life of me remember a two hour convo I had with my friend on the phone yesterday. But she say's it happened. I just ignored where the Stone's albums are after I saw Exile wasn't in the top ten. |

Ha. I just found my classic rock radio station's website, and 2 Greenday songs are on the last 10 songs played list. That is why I rarely listen to the radio these days.
I actually live in Dexter, a few miles northwest of Ann Arbor. It's pretty normal for that station... Where are you from around here?
I live in Troy. It's like 10 miles North of Detroit. I used to enjoy 94.7 a lot, and then I realized they mostly play too much Aerosmith, The Eagles, Santana, and a lot of other bands like that. But I mean they're playing songs that were on the radio during the 70's, so I guess I shouldn't expect to hear lesser known songs anyways. Plus they're playing lots more 80's stuff now. And then when I would hear the occasional Donovan or Ummagumma track on 101.9, they go and turn it all news. Looks like I'm stuck with my radio friendly classic rock. |
3. Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach
5. Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach
Don't they mean #1 and #2? |

I can get 94.9 out of Lansing quite well considering distance, and it has a more diverse collection of songs on the radio. I like them better than 94.7. 94.7 does play alot more Aerosmith, but if it's recently, it has to be because they are playing at the Palace on thursday. I REALLY want to go to that but I don't have that kind of money.... :upset: |
I just checked my CR station's site and they will be having a 500 Best CR song's or what not so I'll post the results although I don't listen to the CR station because of ACDC. I cannot stand ACDC and I hate switching station's so I listen to the oldie's station.
|
Heh, 94.9 is the classic rock station here. It sucks. I rarely listen to it, I listen to the oldies station. They play so much Foreigner and AC/DC on the classic rock station.
|
With my old music stations, they seem to totally forget the early 70's/Late 60's, it is blasphemous! It is like the classic rock station is too cool for the Beatles, CSN, etc, and the oldies station is too wrapped up in bubble gum music
|
I cannot stand DSOTM or The Wall I think they are both garbage, but then again I don't think to much better of Pink Floyd as a whole.
This is unheard of  My local CR station did a countdown of the 500 best Rock songs two years ago, Born to Run was #1 |
123 to above two posts.
Jacaranda has gone completely insane.
You'd think such a crazy guy would like Dark Side but there you have it. He needs to be sent to the nut house. |
Dark Side has too much empty parts, it is just rediculous waiting through that minute of,"SWOOOSSH," until another sub par song starts.

Name one subpar song. Speak to Me is not too great IMO, but it's only 1/2 a song. |
