**** pre-calc, I just got done with that ****.

Me! 06-30-2006 01:21 AM
I had to take precalc twice, once because I got extremely bored with the material and had to drop the class before it began to affect my grades. The second time I took it, I got bored again, but forced myself, to you know, not fail, so I ended up with a B because I chose not to take a test from the first unit that I missed because I had a weird form of the flu.
When did you take it? I did mine junior year (this year) of high school. I take it you did something similar?

Junooni 06-30-2006 01:22 AM

Soph year

sophmore year then junior year

Nihongo 06-30-2006 01:27 AM

Wow.

How do they do classes there?

Here you have to take Algebra I all year freshman year, Geometry all year soph. year, Data and measurements (first half of algebra 2) junior year, and second half senior year.

Pre cal is optional junior or senior year only.

JoshIsNumber3 06-30-2006 01:28 AM

I'm out like brussel sprouts tbh

We had block schedule, so I was taking 4 classes a day for one semester, and then 4 more the next.

I've been on the advanced tracking all my life, so things went down like

Algebra = 8th grade
Geometry = 9th grade
Algebra II = 10th grade
Pre-cal first time = 10th grade
pre-calc 2nd time = 11th grade
Advanced statsticis = 11th grade
no math my senior year, in fact, the only academic class I took was AP English IV, which was a breeze, all my other classes were jokes.

I had the easiest senior year ever.

Me! 06-30-2006 01:28 AM
Soph year

sophmore year then junior year
oic

They didn't offer algebra in 7th grade for me. I came right out of a private school into 7th grade public school. That was a gayyyy experience. Then I switched schools in 8th grade when we moved because the other school sucked basically.

For people who didn't take Algebra (and in some cases geometry too) in intermediate, it goes

Freshmen - Algebra I
Sophomore - Geometry
Junior - Algebra II
Senior - not required, but precal if you do take a math course.
I dont understand your school system at all.
Completely understandable.

No one does.

Nihongo 06-30-2006 01:36 AM

I didn't go to middle school. So I got shafted when I started Freshman year, ahha.
Eh, well with me, I have a low-order version of bipolar disorder which has a high probability of developing into actual manic depression. It's not the easiest thing to deal with, especially when I have other stress factors and things to worry about, so during the summer, it's just a matter of moods changing and stuff like that.

Although during the school year, it gets enormously difficult to bear with and nearly made me drop out during the beginning of my second semester.

A fact that is rather neat to me, the way my brain processess information is the reason why things are the way they are with me. I think and process information on an extrordinarly fast manner that leaves me prone to boredom and trouble in my classes. But it is also because of how quickly I do this that puts me prone to have an overactive imagination among other things. I can develop a really strong paranoia and a quasi-disillusioned sense of comprehension with the actual world. Think of it as a low-order version of schizophrenia and you're on the mark.

But I still rule.
Hey me too Josh. :shades:

Irish_Scorpion 06-30-2006 02:36 AM

Yer josh me and joo are the same. Kinda.

8th grade Alg. 1 pre ap
9th grade Alg.2 pre ap
10th geo pre ap
11th(this upcoming year)Statistics and pre cal
12th calculus and something else for me to copy hw in the morning with.

As long as you learn the concepts i dun't understand how you can fail a class.

Unless you wank off all day, or just get completely bored with it.

If he was on more often this would be a valid question,.

Anyways guys I'm highly considering slowly upgrading my amp rig.

Right now I'm using a Classic 30 if that matters. I mostly play metal.

It will be a 2x12 Cab, and for starters I'll be getting just a Power amp, and using my PODxt, and maybe getting a BBE Sonic Maximiser. After that thread the other day I've been readin about em and they sound sweet. Maybe after a bit of saving I might buy a Pre amp instead of the POD, but I dunno. I've been looking at that TS100 Carvin Tube Power Amp, and that might be what I'd get. Not really sure about a cab, possibly thinking Avatar.

I'll probably sell the C30, but maybe just save it for other things.

What do you guys think of this? Opinions...suggestions?

Yes I know I'm a gear whore.

I'm going to try and just save my money for a while though, and just get a bunch saved for more options and try to find some gear to try out, most my local stores suck though.

Nah. I do quite alot. My days are busy.
I look after several websites. Both content and design, infrastructure is not my thing tho.

Abu-Abu 06-30-2006 04:33 AM

Whoa Aes, I remember knowing this before from you telling me, but I was just on another site and saw info on a Yamaha AES820, so I thought I'd just say something.

overturned 06-30-2006 05:07 AM

I never saw the big appeal in recording, it always seemed like too much work for very little return.

Sad Batty Trevor 06-30-2006 05:13 AM

Well that made no sense mate. That was harsh. Sorry.

And what is the deal with airline food?

Sad Batty Trevor 06-30-2006 05:21 AM

In all fairness mate, it might not last forever.

I mean what if I record something onto my computer yeah? Then I throw it out the window and then at a wall, then pour cider on it, then try and set it on fire, then kick it, then throw a brick at it, then hit it with a chair leg and then like borrow a tank or something and drive over it, then bury it, then dig it up and throw it in the sea, then fish it out and throw it at a 3 year old, then drag it behind me at an average speed of 7 mph then drop it in an active volcano.

That recording ain't comming back mate.

Country Doctor 06-30-2006 05:56 AM

Hello again.

Just got back from having my ears syringed which was quite nasty then found out I've been banned.

I'm thinking of selling my Telecaster and some other stuff for a Schecter S-1 Blackjack.

overturned 06-30-2006 06:04 AM

1. But youns can hear better now yeah? My left ear is somewhat blocked which is a bit annoying.
2. Why banned mate?
3. Thats an awful idea
4. If you do, how much do you want for the Telecaster?
5. Again, if you do, why didn't you tell me last week.
6. Anyone else watching Ed?
7. Why hasn't Ed been released on DVD?
8. Couple of hours and I'm off to pick up my new/used Telecaster.
9. I'm hungry, suggestions for lunch minus cheese products...
10. I thought of a tenth. My phone won't turn on.
11. My Mp3 player hasn't arrived yet.
12. I feel the need to take a shower.
13. I went with a bacon sandwhich.
14. Bacon is currently cooking.
15. My dog still hasn't woken up, bloody animal.
16. I'll eat then shower.
17. MX clock is way out of whack.
18. Warm today here in England.
19. Anyone know what time the England game is tommorow? I need to buy a birthday present and figure shops will be emptier closer to game time.
20. Sup weekend?

Country Doctor 06-30-2006 06:14 AM

1. Yeah, I can hear fine now. :thumb:
2. Either saying hello, posting a  or posting a link to that Schecter last night.
3. My Telecaster is a bit dull. It's one of those Lite Ash ones, but it doesn't really sound like a Telecaster anyway. Has these Seymour Duncan pick-ups, which I think are the cause. It need shielding proper as well.
4. About £280-ish.
5. Only decided this morning while having my ears done.

What Telecaster are you getting?

wouter 06-30-2006 06:17 AM

Hi everyone !

Community thread still exists ... => Behavior in the guitarforum is better than ever ??? :amaze:

Anyway, I found a nice eartraining program yesterday called "EarMaster Pro5"
Anyone else using that ?

Thats a bit harsh, I think someone is taking things a little too seriously, not naming names.

Hmm, bit high, but if you've not sold it in a couple of weeks or more give me a heads up.

And a Squier Telecaster of sorts, dunno the specifics of it. From the early 90's aparently.

Sup wouter?

wouter 06-30-2006 06:23 AM
Sup wouter?
Today I received an email from my guitar teacher with a rather big list of Jazz-guitarists and cd's to check out. So I'm going to the library in about an hour to check some out. And I'm also going to look after a good music theorybook.

How's you doing ?

Country Doctor 06-30-2006 06:24 AM

It's only about six weeks old. Not had much use really. I'm sure there are enough people who don't know about Thomman either. I might put it on ebay on Sunday if I make my mind up by then.

I'm also hoping to get a job (applied at Morrisons) so I can save up for a proper quality Telecaster, or I had the plan to sort one out with Warmoth parts.

I had a 1994 Squier Telecaster which was a Sliver Series. It was a decent guitar - not like how people rave about them being better than Fenders.

Wouter, I've never got into ear training. Should be good if it helps you out though. :thumb:

Well, I think it really helps :).
I do really need to do some eartraining if I want to pass the entrance exam for music college in 2 months.

Yeah I can't imagine it to be awful by any measure. I mainly bought it to experiment with. I play to humbuckerise the neck and maybe add some electrical gizmo's for fun.

It'll also do as a more acurate back-up to my Classic Tele when live instead of the Marlin Strats or the Les Paul.

Nihongo 06-30-2006 06:53 AM

1. Where can I find a Varitone circuit?
2. My Ibanez was "On truck ready for delivery" as of 45 minutes ago accord to Fedex's website.
3. How ****ing long can it take? I live 30 minutes away from the damn place at tops! I am definately gonna be like "You're late." when it gets here.

kurrpt'd 06-30-2006 06:54 AM

if you are that close to the place, chances are they wont deliver to you till the end of his route

Nihongo 06-30-2006 06:56 AM

That's ****ing gay.

Last time I got fedex was Pignose, and it came at 9 PM.

I just don't wanna go through that again, because I got up early just so I'd be awake if he comes this morning instead of pulling a Pignose-era-deal again.
