heavy metal kid 09-23-2005 06:16 PM

does anyone of you have heard the live version of My Last Words?
It's my fav. Megadeth song and i haven't heard live at all.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:17 PM

They played it some on the BTU tour. I haven't heard it though, they didn't play it at my show :(

RiceMonster 09-23-2005 06:18 PM
I couldn't only play thrash for 10-20 years. I don't blame them.
Same. I don't think I could keep playing the same style of music for ten years even.

BludgeonySteve 09-23-2005 06:19 PM

Yeah, I guess that would go for every music style.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:21 PM

True. Its hard to name many people that have stayed in the same style over a long period of time in one band. I guess Maiden would be pretty close.

that song is pure power, it surprise me that they didn't included it in the greatest hits or in the live albums.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:22 PM

I'm not really surprised, but it is a great song.

BludgeonySteve 09-23-2005 06:22 PM

Maiden never sold out, though their style changed a little. Compare Women in Uniform to 2 Minutes to Midnite (that's a very possitive change, by the way).
I didn't know he had enough money to buy a corporation. Sounds fake.
No, I swear he was going to by Jackson, It was in a 2000 Guitar world interview. But then Fender bought it out. I'm kind-of glad he did'nt, because ESP's are alot cooler.

Metallion#666 09-24-2005 08:09 AM

I dont no, Megadeth stayed pretty steady over their career. I mean they did'nt stray from metal at all, in the late' 90s the tempos slowed a bit, but it was still bad-@$$ metal, their only low point was Risk, which kind of sucked, but the re-issue is suppost to kick @$$.

Umm...

Cryptic Writings and Risk were definitely not metal.

Maybe some of Cryptic, but it wasn't overall a metal album.

Don't type like a retard, and you're wrong anyway.

RustedPieces 09-24-2005 10:09 AM

Risk wasn't even close to metal.

Themadhatter 09-24-2005 10:19 AM

Risk and CW owned! Maybe not metal, but it's Megadeth. Imo, a nice break from the thrash was cool. Both solid albums I think.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 10:20 AM

They took a permanent break from thrash with CTE...

Cryptic Writings still owns.

RiceMonster 09-24-2005 11:20 AM

Cryptic Writtings is not bad. I like to listen to Trsut or something every now and then.

Jev 09-24-2005 11:35 AM

Isn't She-Wolf on CW too?

RustedPieces 09-24-2005 11:36 AM
Isn't She-Wolf on CW too?
Yeah. So is Almost Honest, I like that song too.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 05:21 PM

What are some Megadeth songs (thrash ones) that aren't impossibly hard?

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 05:54 PM

The Iron Maiden has a tribute band, maybe we should make one too?

heavy metal kid 09-24-2005 06:48 PM
What are some Megadeth songs (thrash ones) that aren't impossibly hard?
The Mechanix
Skin O' My Teeth
Lucretia

Try the Killing is my Business and Countdown to Extincion albums, their songs are relative easy.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-24-2005 06:58 PM
What are some Megadeth songs (thrash ones) that aren't impossibly hard?
Peace Sells.
The Iron Maiden has a tribute band, maybe we should make one too?
Yeah, but Marty Friedman > God.

BludgeonySteve 09-24-2005 08:04 PM

Marty's solos would be quite a challenge to do justice to. Maiden solos aren't quite as hard.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-24-2005 08:13 PM
Yeah, but Marty Friedman > God.
true.

Metallion#666 09-24-2005 08:21 PM
Risk wasn't even close to metal.
Sure it was, it was just s h i t y metal. It was just really bad. As much as i love megadeth, that album was the essence of s h it y ness.

smart blockhead 09-24-2005 08:23 PM

If it wouldn't be too awful we could change the solos.

Metallion#666 09-24-2005 08:24 PM
What are some Megadeth songs (thrash ones) that aren't impossibly hard?
Lookind down the cross is sort-of difficult, but it is so bad-a s s once you can play it. I love that song and it's a real thrasher to.

MAthiAS 09-24-2005 08:29 PM
If it wouldn't be too awful we could change the solos.
I'd be down for it once I get my PODxt. Which will be like 2 months most likely.
