"You are Syd Barrett. You are creative and extremely gifted, but you tend to have mood swings and can be somewhat bipolar."

Meh I kinda had a feeling.

Thanks for the link :thumb:

No prob.

I was bored and had nothing to do. I thought that might spice things up a bit.

pigonthewing82 04-01-2005 07:28 PM
Well, I tried not to cheat on the song one. Though it was very clear which answer was for each of the song. I just tried not to think about it and got Wish You Were Here.
I was thinking the same thing, that would be better for those who don't recognize the lyrcis.

I got Comfertably Numb. Then it yelled at me for taking drugs and told me I was going to die :upset:
Something about getting OD in a hotel room, right?
 yea, meh I don't think so going to a hotel room would require me to leave my house.....

slowhand 04-01-2005 07:42 PM

Well, who knows? Mabe you'll become a rock star... RIght?

pigonthewing82 04-01-2005 07:49 PM
Well, who knows? Mabe you'll become a rock star... RIght?
 Yeah thats thats the best outcome, for the worst I'll cheak into the hotel room with a suitcase of herion. Though if my best outcome works out then I increase my chances of reaching the worst outcome of dying in the hotel room.......cosmic......

slowhand 04-01-2005 07:51 PM

Yes, isn't that just fantastic? =D

Kingofdudes 04-01-2005 10:32 PM

See Emily Play is probably the best music video ever

TerryThorne 04-01-2005 10:44 PM

Where can one find it?

Modestbob 04-01-2005 11:21 PM
See Emily Play is probably the best music video ever
it is a very strange video, with them just playing there in that field. espically with Wright just standing there pointing at the other guys. But I have a video for Jugband Blues that is really trippy and odd to watch. Because Syd just sits there with no facial expression and sings. and at one point the band is playing horns and stuff.

Shazzam 04-02-2005 12:05 AM

Arnold Layne is by far the wierdest one. Go watch at the official Floyd site (after some searching).

I've seen that one too, but I love See Emily Plays. Especially Nick on air drums.

Somthing I always wondered. Was that preformance of Jugband Blues from when the band had so much trouble getting him to mimick the song for TV?
--Double Post

I found Pink Floyd quizzes on www.quizilla.com to see which Pink Floyd member and song you are. Here you go:

-Which Member of Pink Floyd Are You?
-What Pink Floyd Song Are You?

I got David Gilmour and Wish You Were Here, and I like it.
You are Roger Waters. You are driven and talented, but you'll do just about anything to get what you want, how you want it, no matter who or what it costs you.

You are Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here. You are confused and lost. you may feel that you've lost connection with your lover.

So, has anyone else seen the video I described a while back?

pigonthewing82 04-02-2005 01:48 AM

You I never knowticed it till just now when listening to it and thining about the lyrics, Chater 24 has to be one of the best philosphy driven Pink Floyd songs.

JPJ bassist 04-02-2005 03:41 AM
So, let's talk about Pink Floyd. I was listening to Comfortably Numb, off The Wall, and then I listened to it live, off Delicate Sound Of Thunder, and I must admit that it sounds better live. However, the studio version of Time sounds much better than the live version. What are your thoughts?

Also, what do you think the most haunting lyrics are in a Pink Floyd song?

I think it would have to be Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, or Run Like Hell. What do you think?
i think goodbye blue sky

metallicat_71 04-02-2005 03:48 AM

I reckon comfortably numb has got the most haunting lyrics

clown_phobia 04-02-2005 04:08 AM

Comfortably numb is simply my favourite song ever

Riva 04-02-2005 04:17 AM

Wow, flash from the past.

Goodbye Blue Sky is a great song, but it's lyrics are more provocative, where as Wish You Were Here is really haunting.

clown_phobia 04-02-2005 04:18 AM

what are the guitar solos on wish you were here like?

Riva 04-02-2005 04:27 AM

Brilliant. Probably Gilmour's most soulful works.

clown_phobia 04-02-2005 04:29 AM

fantastic! that's the album I should get next then!

Riva 04-02-2005 04:35 AM

Oh yes. It's easily my favourite album.

rippa32 04-02-2005 05:33 AM

I was thinking about getting the wall album but then I was reading about the troubles the band was having at the time. So does it reflect on the music and therefore make a bad album?

Riva 04-02-2005 05:55 AM

Not at all. The Wall is a brilliant album, possibly one of the best concept albums ever recorded. Roger outdid himself in his storytelling. If you read some reviews of it, you can see how the troubles the band had only intesified the mood of the album.

rippa32 04-02-2005 06:00 AM

Okay ill get it. I was reading lyrics and I absolutley love the last songs lyrics (the mad buggers wall line). But what is the actual concept of the album? is it rogers life?

Riva 04-02-2005 06:02 AM

It is the life of a rockstar called Pink. Basically, it reflects both Roger and Syd Barrett (The original guitarist for the band), but it is much more Roger than Syd. It's a great album.

rippa32 04-02-2005 06:17 AM

So the story is actually made up? does that mean the storie to the movie was too?

Riva 04-02-2005 06:45 AM

Yes, the Wall album is almost identical to The Wall movie.
