^^ I love the part before the song where they're all in the room trying to figure out how it goes. And also the guitar solos.
The only downside is seeing Keith Moon deteriorate throughout the course of the film. That last concert where they do Baba O' Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again (however orgasmic the slow motion part is) is just sad on Moon's part. He'd lost it by then. |
The other cool thing about it is how much The Who have fun with what they do. You're right, it's just entertaining to watch them.
|
Yeah, Pete's moving around so much it doesn't look like he's playing but he actually is.
|
I wish I actually owned the DVD.
|
Does everyone have the special edition?
|
Who's seen the Last Waltz? You know that song they play with Clapton, and then Clapton's strap breaks, he fixes it but he screams something out.
The captions say he says "hold on" but my friends and I think he says "fuck!"
I think it's just like an "ohh". Like "ohh crap". I have the song on my computer, I'll listen again. Yea I think it is, I just heard it again. |
well when you get a chance I highly reccomend you watch it.
I know I should...I've seen bits and pieces, but I've never sat down and watched the whole thing. |
About the Allmans and coke, one of their roadies (I thinnk his last name was Herring) got 75 years in prison for dealing coke to Greg in 1976.
|
75 years?
|
75 years?
According to Q 107 and my classic rock calendar, yes. |
That seems pretty harsh.

*does the math in head* Geez. That is harsh. |
Crime in the City is one of my new favorite songs.
The whole Freedom album is great, and quite underrated, IMO. I've heard it was his real comeback album in the late '80s, after he did the techno/rockabilly/country albums, and then got sued for it. np: Dylan - Don't Think Twice, It's All Right. I love the fingerpicking in this song. |

I have special edition of TKAA, but I haven't seen all the special features.
And 75 years in prison is pretty harsh. |
Yeah I kinda heard about the coke thing, we're not talking ounces of coke, we're talking tons of coke. Probly got a sentence of 75 years and served 25 for good behavior. George Jung comes to mind.

Blow is an awesome movie. Canadian Guy, you pretty much have it right except you forgot his blues phase. |

Canadian Guy, you pretty much have it right except you forgot his blues phase.
Ah yes. I saw some old video footage of him during his '50s rockabilly phase, laughed my ass off. |
Has anyone ever heard anything by these bands: Rhinoceros, Crabby Appleton, The Electric Prunes, or the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band?
|
I thinnk his last name was Herring
Herring? Jimmy Herring? He played guitar with them and now plays for The Dead. If it wasn't another Herring, perhaps it was Red-Dog. |
Isn't that the one in Almost Famous?
|
Yes
|
This is sad, it looks like another metal bassist will win again. Vote Entwistle.
|
I felt bad for voting Flea, so I ran downstairs, went on my other account, and voted Entwistle.
