Bashing Zeppelin is so fun. np- Rolling Stones- Sweet Virginia |
So I take it noone here likes zep.
"you guys need to get the Led out!" |
I like zeppelin.
|
So I take it noone here likes zep.
"you guys need to get the Led out!"
No, just Schyma and I don't like Zeppelin. Everyone else here likes them but feels that they are way overrated. |
Can someone post Taurus? I'd like to hear it
And I like Zeppelin in moderate doses. |
I don't like them...not much of a Pink Floyd fan either though.

You mean to tell me that when you first heard brick in the wall you werent pleased? |
Can someone post Taurus? I'd like to hear it

man, that reminds me, Stairway's solo has double tracked guitar on it. That was supposed to be the first time double tracking ever was used. You have to give them credit for that, for we use it all the time nowadays |
"no way is that true, dude!!! Robert Plant was the best singer ever, JPJ was the best bassist ever, Jimmy Page was the best guitarist ever, and John Bonham was the best drummer ever!"
That's the typical defense, which drives me up all the wall. Another one is, I was in school the other day and I said I'm not really a U2 fan, and this uber-preppy kid Matt turns out around and says "Shut up, they're better than you." Some people should not be allowed to re-produce. Namely, his parents. /rant |
I think they're talented musicians (Not Plant) and I infact like a couple of songs. Tangerine, Broun Yer Stomp, Since I've Been Loving You and possibly a couple of others that forget at the moment but other than that I piss on the name "Led Zeppelin".
I like Rod Stewart too, but didn't some in this thread describe him as "Mom Music"?
I think it might have been Badmoon or Lunch.
I have been defending Rod Stewart since the beginning. Since the beginning! /late |
I like U2 :p
But it is really annoying when people act like that. It really pisses me off. Edit- And I've never liked Rod Stewart. |
You mean to tell me that when you first heard brick in the wall you werent pleased?
That's my favorite Floyd song lol. I like "Money" too. My favorite LZ songs are "Over the Hills and Far Away", "Going to California", "Tangerine", and a couple other catchy songs they have...the one about the rain it's really catchy. I probably know more about Zeppelin and Pink Floyd just from these forums. I can spell Z-E-P-P-E-L-I-N so I have the edge on 50% of "Led Zepplin" fans. |

Still hot, and his daughter is the next Paris Hilton. |

That's what happens when you keep marrying 22-year-old women while in your 60s. And his wife is hot, to clarify. |
My friends always tried to convince me he was gay

Ok to catch up.
Magicbus, I'm pretty sure Willie Dixon(writer of so many good tunes, including Spoonful and Backdoor Man) wrote Bring it on Home and Zeppelin gave him credits on that one. All you guys who said you'd post in Blues threads, I never seen you post there before. There have been so many and you guys never posted. |
I'm only a few posts off topic, so here goes.
Found this on W & A's Record Reviews site. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant." "Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch. "Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson). "Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown." "Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy." "Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes). "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down." "How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter." "In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut). "The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70's and settled out of court. "Moby Dick" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker. "Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues. "Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar. "Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit. "White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair." "Whole Lotta Love" - lyrics are from the Willie Dixon blues "You Need Love." http://www.warr.org/zep.html That's the link. Good reviews on that site, check it out. And I think this is enough to post in the Zeppelin thread :p |
